6:25 I feel like looking outside in when you’re in this certain situation would slow me down and the fact that the receiver got on top of me, looking outside in would put me in an uncomfortable spot. What do you think?
Dieudonne Joseph that’s what I was thinking as well I honestly think it jus depends on the situation.. like wat if the receiver is bigger and you look inside in that’s a jump ball and your out of position but if you look inside out and lean against him using the sideline that’s your ball🤷🏾♂️!!
Darrelle Revis coach said one of the reasons Revis was so great because he was always like a chair while covering. He also had an enormous amount of strength during jam - this guy put out a very great detailed video on DB technique.
One thing i disagree with is where your eyes go when you’re in phase. In the redzone you should look inside out through the WR because you can keep track of the WR, guard the back shoulder redzone fade , & then if the ball is towards the back of the end zone , you speed turn and get your eyes over your other shoulder. When you are in the field , you look the same way the WR looks
2:20 he opened up a little bit, giving his opponent the ability to cut on him. They want to change direction when they see your momentum is in the other direction
That’s one new thing ima have to add, looking outside in while one on one with a receiver on the outside. Got beat like that once on a back shoulder throw.
Hey good film sesh, but you if you could use some markers to describe what we should be doing technique wise rather than just tell us what we are already looking at.
but it’s weird when u look outside/in because ur head is turning all weird while ur body’s going forward . obviously it depends on where the ball is and how far away u are from the WR but if ur up close on the WR and a little behind him i don’t get why u would look outside/in cause that’s literally impossible
Love the video thanks man. I have a question, you mentioned that we have to turn our heads outside-in. Wouldn't that slow us down especially when chasing a fade route (like in 6:40) since we have to rotate the heads to the opposite of our momentum?
Yeah I didn’t like that part. I would only go outside in when I’m late on the head turn but if I’m turning my head as soon as the WR is then I can easily find the ball. Also you don’t have to get hands on man all the time it just depends on the WR just watch Jamal Adams big TE want you to be physical bc they want a slower route with their QB compared to WR who want swift fast cuts out of routes
Yea that part isn’t right. You’re not always gonna be in good enough position to do that. Best bet is to squeeze the receiver to the sideline and then get your head around. Even if you can’t locate the ball he’ll have to make a tough catch
I always say just give me atleast 1 shuffle to the receiver to close the gap then you can open up and run with him. But when in press you want to stay square as long as possible
Help me get this video to 50 LIKES if you want a part 2 ? Did you guys enjoy and learn anything ?

So when exactly is the right time to stop shuffling and begin to run with the WR, is it when they commit to their route?
What do u mean by look for ball from the outside in
Hey good film sesh, but you if you could use some markers to describe what we should be doing technique wise rather than just tell us what we are already looking at.
Keep watching lots of videos he’s and others to get a better understanding
