@@figandlight I've read other comments about you switching to 3d....I would say you made a good choice. But I recommend you do some "cherry on top" photography videos along with the 3D stuff. I mean, I'm totally new to the channel and I don't mind if you do photography videos considering that I only do 3d. This is just my opinion. Cheers.💯
Respectfully I see you've taken a different direction while I can respect that it would have been a good idea to announce you have taken a different direction it feels like a bait and switch I've seen your video about crossroads but it didnt really mention anything around 3d work so it just feels like out of the blue. While I think there is definitely value even for a photographer it is better to be more open with your audience so that they can work out if it adds value. It will also help your engagement as the people who are subscribed are more likely to watch it since its what they are here for.
Good point. However, my journey into 3D wasn't black and white. There was a lot of experimenting and back and forth on ideas and lots of doubt. So announcing something every time I had a mind change would probably do more to confuse people than bring clarity. Plus, I'm always assuming that people are way busier and focused on their lives rather than what's going on in my mind and what I decide to post. I'm willing to be proven wrong, but that's just how I see it. So posting "under the radar" with a new topic without much warning and without much expectation, seemed like the way to go for now.
Please bro, is Redshift better than Cycles Blender and also Octane Blender when it comes to Product Rendering. Please bro can you do a comparison video please
For product rendering, I'd choose Octane, Cycles, and Redshift. In that order. I'm using redshift cause it's the one I'm most familiar with and comes with my subscription to maxon.
oooo! question--in real life, could i use a diffuser scrim to diffuse the large highlight instead of a board to block the light? that way i don't have to necessarily increase ambient (hdri) exposure?
From now on, will you only do 3D stuff? I subscribe for photo stuff, I have no interest in 3D at 63yo
What’s the difference for you? lol it works same
@@dandwb3703 if you can't get the difference between photography and 3D, no answer of mine will satisfied you
For now, yes. If life gives me more time and resources, I may hop back into photo/video, but I wouldn't hold my breath for that.

Great video as always.
Question: Blender or C4D for product modeling and rendering?
I still like C4D.

a large scrim I think would be the way to go in a real life situation, yeah!
@@figandlight You can do a cg scrim if you apply a semi translucent material to the light blocker plane. I like a wax material myself.
I love this series so much
Thank you!
