In my opinion.. in a topic of military.. and why would other kpop groups would not go all together (some did but only a handful).. there are many reasons but commonly because it's risky for the company. Especially if label has more control of the group projects. Cause the moment you go in the camp.. your management has no control over their artists. They can't call them to do something or make money, unless the contents are pre recorded (before enlistment date). And also because they are popular and with time that they are not on the spot light many fans will leave and join other "active" groups.. Many also go one by one cause they have many members in the group, so others can just fill in for them. There are so many factors. BTS doing the opposite in the height of their careers is a true testament of how they trust Army. That's why BTS already prepare SO MUCH CONTENTS and they planned ahead of time so the time they go and comeback as full group is shorter than most Kpop groups.

That's exactly right, it's much easier for a company to work around one or two absent members than it is to try and prepare enough content ahead of time to get through an 18-month no-group-at-all drought. And that's just the actual enlistment, that doesn't cover coming back and trying to prepare something for release with members who've been away from the spotlight for a while.
It's probably easier on members to re-integrate to the group on their return, too; I worry that BTS is going to have a bit of 'culture shock' when RM, V, Jimin and JK all come back at once and are like, "Ok, how did this go again?" Hopefully Jin and J-Hope will guide them back into the idol life well.

I used to listen to 1D too and after sometimes I lose interest but Idk why. Same to other kpop artists, I did not start with BTS, I start with Shinee, and then Exo, and I go back and forth with BTOB ,BTS, GOT7 but there is just something about BTS that makes me keep interested with them for years. If people ask me what about BTS that seems special to me, i think I wouldn't know what to answer but Boracity gave me some reasons that I can agree with so far but still there isn't an exact one definite answer because to me BTS gave so many reasons for me to stan them.

Tbh same.. i mean same in a way you cant EXACTLY explain why you like BTS but i think the only answer i can give people is YOU NEED TO EXPERIENCE BTS for you to understand how Armys feel. Cause we can go on for days explaining why we stan BTS but still people would not understand half of it.

Same. I started getting into other kpop groups like Infinite, tvxq and bigbang. I was aware of bts since 2015-2016 but was just a casual listener a few of their songs. Even though I wasn't yet an army until 2020, one thing I noticed about them that set them above other groups were their lyrics, especially rapline. I thought, "Wow, they don't rap gibberish and their flow is very good." Little did I know...😂

I did it the other way, I noticed BTS first and decided to check out the whole 'K-Pop' situation. I looked at a lot of groups- GOT7, The Boyz, NCT's various groups, Oneus, Ateez, SKZ, even TXT - but I always ended up drifting off from them and coming back to BTS. And I agree, it's very hard to pin down what it is that BTS does, or maybe what they don't do, or both, that makes them so charismatic. It isn't just writing and producing their own songs; SKZ and TXT do that. It isn't just the unique vocals; Ateez and TXT have that. It isn't just their hard work; all idols work very hard. It's not their love and respect for their fans, all idols have that, too. Maybe it's the sincerity. Maybe it's the rise of the underdog. Maybe it's just fate. Whatever, I'm in this Bangtan s*** for life now and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I think it is because BTS has variety, something that is required in this era of ADHD, heh. BTS is the full package & they have a lot more to offer than just music, including a huge fanbase & worthy causes. But their music itself also has variety as they are a multi-genre group. So, it's variety, depth, richness & importance. Their message & social commentary to youth is important to all of us. Every 7 of the members has something different to offer as well. We saw that not just in BTS but also in their solo projects. Hopefully they all return intact from service. One thing to note is that because BTS is a military concept & theme, by them going to real military means they may be the only modern music band in world history that is both fictional & non-fictional military (other than marching bands). Add that accolade to the list of what keeps you attracted to them as a band. Big Time Soldiers 2025.

lol there's no way your over 12 if your typing like this. Saying you only stan bts without giving other groups a chance is kinda embarrassing and bts is kpop. So your a kpop fan. Are you dumb?😂

  • @evantesseract737
    @evantesseract737 4 місяці тому +7

I like the push toward no official performance positions. Everyone in Enhypen does what suits the song best, for example. Same for TXT. That's also what BTS evolved into - the performance positions aren't super meaningful in their later work. Everyone does what he's good at 😅
I will say it doesn't mean the positionless groups are all alike. TXT members are not all alike 🤣 and it doesn't mean they have the same skills. Someone can be better at singing, someone better at dancing, and the members will know who is strongest at various things. It's just a way of saying that each member is free to improve whatever performance skills they want to develop. They often start so young - why on earth should their company decide what they're going to specialize in? But that used to be standard, and probably still is in some companies. But if you start from respecting the performers as artists in their own right, and encourage their growth organically, you'll get the best possible work from that person. Even from a profit-building perspective, it's a good idea.
One thing that surprised me at first was how much BTS members were encouraged to create their own solo work all along. It wasn't seen as detracting from the group's work in any way or competing with the group. I think it's a brilliant strategy 😂 how many people came in through Haegeum recently who never looked twice at Dynamite? And without that musical outlet, RM & Suga, at least, would have been miserable.
A marriage 🤣🤣🤣 they do make it quite clear they're a family.
One of my absolute favorite things about their solo work is watching the look of pride on everyone's faces when they're watching. Suga could not be prouder of Jungkook if he'd birthed him himself. 😂 And they're all like that. They're so incredibly proud of each other.
Ooops i wrote an essay 🤣 borahae 💜

I love that you tried to use a Marvel analogy because I'm a comic nerd 😆BTS can be considered the Avengers NOW but I always looked at them as my favorite Marvel team: the X-Men. Professor Charles Xavier (Bang Si-Hyuk) started a fledgling school for gifted youngsters (Big Hit Entertainment) recruited some kids, trained them and sent them into the world to help the voiceless (BTS).

They give us a ton of love and strength and they are life role models if I may say. 💜💜

Hindsight is 20/20. it worked out for BTS and we have more than 10 years to show for it and say LOOK AT BTS. They were lucky that they have each other and their story is their story and their experiences made them who they are today. while each of the member of BTS can go solo now because they worked hard for it, they could not when they started. Just like not all 5 members of one direction were amazing vocalists. Hello have you seen their auditions? Some got by from charms and that's okay because they worked for it after they got their opportunity. NSYNC had 5 part harmony and no other groups did. Let's just enjoy each group for what they are. you can't compare other group's longevity because they group up in a completely different business.

  • @nynex4

I feel like the companies hold the younger members from enlisting so that they can milk more money with them staying active with solo projects. In the end, it makes the groups splintered for many many years as each one has to complete military enlistment. Over that time... their popularity as their group will drop because they won't be whole for a long time. It's stupid. That contributes to the 7 year curse. They retire those groups if they don't endure the time it takes for all members to finish military.
The 'super groups' like superM seemed to me that the companies didn't really appreciate their artists value. I feel bad for the artists for being so undervalued that they'd be slammed together in some mesh of a group for quick money grab. They are worth so much more if they were just given the resources to show what they can do. I couldn't even stomach the idea of watching any of the promotions for that group, it was so sad to see them being used like that.

Corporations unfortunately don't value the artists, only the money the artist can bring. Disgusting.

    • @robwebnoid5763

Apparently SuperM was actually formed in 2019 as a REACTION to BTS' success, as SM saw BTS rise faster & bigger than any of his SM bands. But like Boracity said in one of her other essays, SuperM & SM only focused on 1 or 2 aspects that made BTS huge & not the overall grand scheme of things of what makes BTS big. You need to step back & see the bigger picture. It reminds me of how the US finally got together their basketball supergroup for the 1992 Olympics, Dream Team 1, except in that case, that team was successful, unlike what happened with SuperM. I do not even see anything going on with SuperM nowadays. Are they even making any music?

If they had done it properly, it could have worked. But they didn't. Because they didn't (and still don't) understand. It's really their own fault. Such a shame for the hard work the artists put in. They just burned their capital. I'm so glad BTS gets appreciated more and more for how they work. 💜

This is what i hate about sm. They have a lot of crazy talented artists. I'm not a fan of any of their music, but anyone can see that their artists are very developed in terms of vocals and dancing but sm likes to waste them on things that don't matter like crazy concepts such as the metaverse, the avengers and so on. Everything except the music, seriously.

One of the reasons you don't divided Western boybands like Idol music does is rather simple:
They *don't* have the skill set.
I have yet to see a rapper in a Western boyband. Dance is usually somehow superficial - Idol trainees dance better, probably long before they debut - and than done bye the whole group.
So the only diversion is - maybe - by vocalrange - and that is less obvious since most listeners/fans have little to no idea what that even is.
I had recently a fight about this because the person was that obvious to this that e.g. JK struggles with high notes more than lower notes because - it seems because of Jimin or so I'm told - BTS has a lot of higher notes.
That does not mean they are not skilled and you can't push your vocallrange - usually at a price and with the chance - if done incorrectly - to damage your voice.
The only Idol group I have heard of that went to the military together - besides BTS - was Oneus (I think).
    Why don't they go together?
Because of their labels (and solo fans/popularity).
Those that go later get solo projects/albums first - they make sure that they have a career in the industry after their service - because a lot of groups stop existing after service. It's actually pretty much the first time that a few group are coming back together after service: ShinEE, Exo etc. and not just become soloists or e.g. become actors etc.
Fans say going later also means that the group has still representation when they have to leave the spotlight to serve.
We are talking about a fastpaced industry were multiple comebacks a year are the norm and the GP is constantly remided that an artist exists as an Idol - in the West it works a little different - but entertainment media usually does the same thing - even if it is usually over the social aspect like dating, feud, scandel, mental health problems etc.
Otherwise artists are often fast forgotten because there are so many, many of them doing so much different things/music - especially since a lot "sounds the same"/"do the same"/are all "good looking" for a superficial fan/someone that invests less time.
While I'm not a fan SuperM- they are made out of people that actually know each other and at least a few of them are friends over the groups. It helps when they are born in the same year - because that is how Korean society works.
    You nice! Keep going! 💜
