I'm too young to know if they're underrated during their younger days. But these kind of music is all I need for me to forget that nations are too busy killing each other when all we need to do is to sit still, relax and enjoy this kind of beautiful music.
They were so wonderful! Saw them live during college at Ole Miss around 1965, and they were even better in person. My 2nd favorite folk group of all time, behind only Peter, Paul, and Mary. I think they WERE underrated in the 60's, with the Kingston Trio and Chad Mitchell Trio (who were also great) probably having bigger reputations at the time.
I sang this song with my three other classmates for a singing competition in Grade 7 when my voice was just changing to a deep base. I still love to sing this song every now and then. I love it, still.
Living in the hustle and bustle of Tokyo , I sometimes want to listen to this masterpiece they play with exquisite skill and breathtaking chorus . This masterpiece is my youth itself Thank-you so much to The Brothers Four From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun 🇯🇵
@@shin-i-chikozima At last I have found it was recorded in private japanese limited cd production, not on label. I live in Poland and what is your country?
@@shin-i-chikozima Oh, yes, you wrote it at the beginning. I often come back to their songs with pleasure. I have recently found a song that I never heard before "Ano Subarashii Ai O Moichido" from their live concert 1996 (cd - Tokyo Tapes). The song brings memories from my youth. I love the song, its lyrics are so true. Beautiful japanese folk song. The Brothers Four recorded it first on a record in 1976. Recordings were transfered to cd in 1990 but now rarely available, second hand and only in Japan. Too bad.
Thanks to Brothers 4, those American folk songs became big hit among Japanese young people at around 1964. Especially, this nice and emotional lyrics of "7 daffodils"were effective English text among Japanese highschcool students. Brothers 4 is singing thus. I haven't any land on behalf of "I don't have any land". Nowadays, I guess that American people seldom use such an old word usage. Don't they? From Tokyo
