- In this video I will take you on a tour of my sunflower garden. Sunflowers are very easy to grow and the bees love them! They make excellent cut flowers that can brighten any room. Most of the sunflowers I planted are of the Procut variety from Johnny seeds (this is not a paid advertising by the way). These type of sunflowers do not have pollen.
Did you see the little critter running on the fence behind me at 23sec into the video? I just noticed it while editing this video. Squirrel or rat? I don't know...

Lovely! I tell myself every year that I’ll plant sunflowers and then never get around to it...I have just a few here and there that self seed from our bird feeder seeds.

Cheaper to grow your own if you want a lot of plants. Yes, I’ve heard of Sunflower Steve and Nicole. She’s one of my inspiration for starting a flower channel 😊

Hello, This is my first year growing Procut sunflowers. Can I expect the side shoots to bloom, or will they just die off if I harvest the main blossom for a cut flower? Your Sunflower garden is gorgeous and happy! Thank you for sharing!
It depends on the variety. Some do not have side shoots. You can watch and see if they produce any side shoots. Thank you for watching! 🌸
I have issues starting my seeds as the squirrel gets it before me . I tried sprouting them indoor but something just snips it out any tips on that . Can you have vedios step by step training us how to do it please . You are amazing so inspiring
Sorry that your sunflowers gets eaten. They do live seeds! We have a small greenhouse where we start them so they are somewhat protected. Thanks for the video suggestion! 😊
Same thing happens to me. I have started again a few weeks ago, this time using cloches to protect my sprouts until hopefully they will become bigger and less appetizing to the squirrels and rabbits. My second batch are about 8 inches tall now, but still in danger of getting eaten. I'm only growing 10 or 12 of them, so not nearly as many as Teodora.
