  • Extreme sword form on the streets of Little Tokyo in Downtown Los Angeles. Ate some ramen, bought some mochi, did a sword form.

This Samurai katana video performance, was spectacular, as well as unbelievable. That ongoing, seemingly endless sword spin on the palm of your hand, simply out of this world.
I also enjoyed watching the various blocks, strikes, slicing techniques with the sword, along with the kicking and acrobatic manoeuvres in mid air. Nice to see also the appropriate and carefully orchestrated musical, genre score that accompanied each of the movements, along with the editing and various distances and angles, editing to show things clearly from all points of view. I hope you have used this intricate, choreographed sequence at a tournament and won with it, in the weapons' forms division, Osu! 👍 ☺ ✌

Thank you, this was our first demo/action sequence for the channel we made. I was really happy with how it came out and bummed it didn't get a the recognition it deserved.
I like to try to show both sides, the traditional side and sport martial arts side of things. With this video I did more flash than traditional but I still like it.
I haven't used this in any tournament but I did teach some of it to my students and they used it in tournaments and won so technically it was a win win.
      Thank you Juan!!!

@@SenseiIchi excellent I am glad that you see the primary importance of traditional martial arts, while also seeing the positive aspect, of the modern sports side of martial arts as well. I say that both can compliment each other, nevertheless the origins and traditional roots of a martial art, are the core, relevance and true essence of any martial art!
Eradicating and dismissing the traditional aspect such as the basics, the stances, katas, etiquette and so forth, just for the combat and competitive side of things, in my opinion is dishonourable, as well disrespectful, for those that paved the way for us, of the current and future generations. I am pleased to see that your students have won at tournaments, with this intricate, flamboyant, as well as powerful, modern, martial arts routine, that you have created. Indeed it is a victory and also a measure of success and pride for you as well. After all you created this routine, then conveyed such knowledge to your students. I am certain that you are little by little, getting the recognition and respect, that you deserve, for your arduous dedication, determination, sacrifice, as well as the passing of the knowledge torch, to the next generation. As the say according to the Chinese proverb: "A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step"! Your humbleness, patience and perseverance will yield you the prestige and recognition that you and your dojo deserve some day Sensei Ichi, Osu! 👍 ☺ ✌
