Looks like I was wrong about Echo's assists calling the ARC Turret to assist. I'll own that for sure.
I'm still not convinced the turret should go on Fives, since he dies so quickly and randomly. Rex or Echo would be my choice, and Echo does tend to be more survivable than Rex...
yes he does, but, i have found that if you have Rex’s zeta, by the time fives goes down you have the ability available again. Then you assign it to Rex and since he is the fastest and has the bonus speed from fives he runs circles around everybody with constant dispels.
Fives should get 2-3 turns with the turret before he dies unless the team is on D and cls focuses him down right away
If I know my fives will survive a while, I’ll put it on him because he’s technically the fastest, if I’m not sure I’ll win I’ll put it on rex because he’s my fastest and fives keeps him alive

I wish I had read this comment first. I just put the zeta on arc thinking that might get the turret to attack with echo. It doesn't read that way, but you never know. So maybe the arc zeta is not good unless you are running him under shaak ti. I guess fives can call the assist.
I know this is an old video but i thought id point out a cool trick to do with this team. If you can time it right, taunting with fives right before GAS stands back up can give you two taunts, and if they choose fives over GAS, its essentially like damage immunity if he doesnt have protection.
Anyone else find it ironic that the "Hero with no Fear" isn't immune to fear like JKL or Padme

Got mine last month. Already have him R6 with g12 clones. I will say get ready for the rng fest during phase 4 of his journey. You'll learn how to use sep droids I'd you don't already know, that's for sure.

Stomping the GAS pedal on the algorithm
Echo shouldn’t get the turret, the turret only assists when the ability is used in the unit’s own turn, not as an assist. If fives is present, go with fives. After the sacrifice, go with rex.
Also, interesting choice to go with defense. My GAS is modded pretty similarly, but with a Potency set instead of defense. Relic 7, 129K protection, 192% crit damage, 270 speed and 95% potency. Since my Rex is 321 speed i outrun almost everything and give TM so landing those dazes consistently is very helpful.
I may have been mistaken on Echo's assist + turret. My bad on that.
I'm not convinced the turret should ever go to Fives though.
@@Xaereth why not? He gains TM when any 501st are hit. That makes him the fastest on the team most of the time so it makes sense to give him the turret?

@@Xaereth it's a nitpick point anyway. I can't think of a matchup where turret placement would actually affect the outcome of the match...
That said, fives dies pretty consistently vs Dr and CLS the moment GAS sits down, so in these matchups the turret should probably go on rex directly.

Awesome vid, thanks for being so thorough in your explanations. I spent most of last year unlocking GAS, so he's like my poor man's GL. I'm still super bummed that they replaced the Clone Wars style head on his character model & made it the same as JKA's ugly mug. Clone Wars Sky Guy is 100x cooler than his film counterpart.
You're not the only one that is baffled by "Rexhilate". I wonder if Mando or CAT was in the game earlier people would be calling it a "Rexintegration" or "Rexorce Leap"? "Rexecute" obviously sounds much cuter. I was hoping you'd touch on the Omega on Echo's basic - ""Add this attack deals 15% more damage if Echo has Critical Damage Up" - no 501st can grant Crit dmg up - why is this in his kit? whyyyyyy. It hurts my brain meats.

Bro. I just used this against my opponent in GA, my g12 GAS and r5 clones managed to clutch this out. Echo managed to survive and had a massive grenade blast! I’ve been happy with GAS at g12 for months, but this opens so many doors. Taking him straight to r8

I don’t have Echo’s zeta, as it seemed underwhelming. However, I’ve been using GS to counter JMK in squad arena, and they usually have GK and sometimes GMY … it occurs to me that it would be nice not to care about foresight.

I feel like you could get a lot of people involved by creating a new alt, starting from zero and by doing so let people follow you on your new journey. Is this something you could see yourself doing? Maybe start a vote on it, to see if there is enough interest to make it worth the effort?
In theory that'd be cool, but X already has 3 accounts to maintain. A 4th would not be sustainable

Correction for everyone watching this, you do not want to have the Turret with Eco, because it doesnt assist when a Clone supports/counters. Instead, you want it on Fives because he gets the most turns. If Fives dies, pass it to Rex, who is the fastest, so he'll turn more often than Eco. Thinking about it, putting the Turret on Eco is actually the worst possible thing to do

My guild wants me to work on Shaak to clones, and I already have the omega on fives that will taunt. I know you said not to put it on, so any advice since I already have it? Or do I just carry on 😂
in general for the clones, would it be better to have high health (to maximize the time it takes to get through when gas is down) or is protection still better? My thought is that AOEs still chip away at and potentially even finish off protection while gas is up, but you obviously have to wait to start attacking health. I know this arguement is out the door against CLS rebels (and maybe Malak for that matter), but is it sufficient enough to warrant remodding (especially if you were to hold GAS for offense)?
I think that if you're trying to avoid CLS messing with you, protection is preferable since it minimizes your expose damage.

Alright, so after you referred me here I finally got around to watching the vid. When I asked about beating Reys, I used to mod my GAS for protection and some speed and then switched over to offense which was great for the mirror (even on d) but was getting obliterated by Rey.
I now know the answer is both. You need both offense and protection and preferably speed. Greedy b*stard. But moved mods around and hoping I can beat some poorer Reys
I know this is not about 501st but my Malak is r5 with 160% tenacity but he still gets debuffed. What should be the bare minimum tenacity % for him? Can you give any advice?
200%, assuming you're vs opponents with 100% potency, and there debuffs aren't irresistible

You have to go all in on Tenacity to make it worth it, or have it in your kit. Most of the time it's not worth it
I remember a time before the rework where tenacity up was a thing in Fives's kit

Shouldn't you prioritize protection and speed on 5s since he doesn't share defense? Maybe a speed set instead of 2 defense sets?
You put defense on fives because in GAC everyone knows fives sacrifices so they target fives first. Defense set makes him harder to take down before GAS stands back up
Fives has one of the highest base defenses in the game at relic levels. Since the opponent focuses him, damage reduction gives you HUGE returns in keeping him alive

For some reason.
This video is the first time I’ve heard it called Rexilate, ironically. I like how Rexilate sounds when spoken, but it looks weird typed like this. I like how Rexecute looks in type better, though when spoken it sounds like “Rex is cute” which is always kinda weird.
I think Urzzz popularized Rexilate? The way I remember it, at the beginning most people said Rexecute, and he turned the tide. He had a lot of influence. I like it because it sounds kind of ridiculous, I suspect that's why Urzzz liked it too.
