Awesome music and grooves! Found you guys from stacking.NYC a.k.a. Tommy! Love the silver stacking community! Great job and great community!
You're doing God's work with those timestamps my friend, thank you.
Hero
There is just something so special about this band: the beauty of their music often makes me cry. It is mysterious. Maybe twining melodies and intersecting complexity of many guitars, instruments, voices, lyrics and the long-term commitment they have made to their music and to each other (despite comings & goings of members). I honestly don't know of anything quite like it. Love them.
Hands down the best feels best live band ever. Utterly underrated. I never miss them when they come to town. I hope they never stop touring.
Looks Like Just The Sun, what a song!
Was just thinking this!
Such an underrated band
I memorized the drums for the entire You Forgot It In People album when I was a teenager. I can still remember all of it. 10/10 slice of my childhood album. Amazing performance.
I saw these guys play a free concert in Salt Lake City and I've never seen 20,000 people so collectively lose their mind and rock out to such a rocking performance in my life. AND they played all my favorites and then some. 1000 times better than any top 40 band could ever dream of creating.
sounds like an old friend
indeed, so glad they're back
2:46 when the sax and trombone come in...that sound instantly nestles itself into my heart every time
I grew up with this band, hope they'll be around for my kids so they can say the same!
one of the best kexp performances in my opinion
I've missed this band.
I really like their sound, I’ve never heard them before
Their album You Forgot It In People was a crown jewel in the indie/hipster crowd in the early 2000s. You should listen to that whole thing.
Like meeting an old friend, this music always improves your mood!
Like how KEXP is always giving good music
I was lucky enough to see them in Eugene on the last tour (20 year anniversary of You Forgot it in People). WOW they are good live. It was probably my favorite live show I've ever been to, which is saying something since I've seen Rush who are also spectacular live. Their music is so moving and makes me feel in a way most artists can't. 1972 and Hug of Thunder in particular.
Saw them in dc at 9:30 club and can say the same. Best show I’ve ever been to
They were incredible back in the day too. Huge number of people on stage.
In Washington working building internet for the schools on telephone poles when im here i see much beauty and think of broken social scene ty so much for the music and really being about something more CHANGE love u all
quanto li adoro! un sound che mi emoziona sempre. fantastici!
Makes my heart and eyes water just by seeing you guys all on stage like this.
LOVE THIS BAND SOUNDS GREAT /THANKS EVERYBODY IN THE BAND
Absolute legends. Love you guys and the memories I have made with your music.
i like how long intros builds me the expectation for the vocal 💙
its a song tho :)
They're truly something else! I'm going to watch this again just to be sure it really was that good...
This has to be one of my fave videos of all time!
What an amazing performance! Love BSS! This, and House of Strombo shows are videos you can't stop playing.
I still believe they are greatest alternative rock band existing in this world. Hug of thunder was just an epic album. Hope they comes to Japan and do lives someday!
Honestly I was really happy with "Hug of Thunder" after the previous album, which while it wasn't awful or anything, it just wasn't quite up to their usual level.
I know this just came out yesterday, but it really should have so much more views, this band kicks ass!
so many marvelous memories watching them play
I can't believe i initially missed this performance. So good. I've never heard Pacific Theme sound better. Kudos BSS and KEXP
Great show - thanks again for the live music, KEXP!
Saw BSS live back in 07 in Nashville.. one of the best shows ive ever been to.
Sheer brilliance.....keep on keeping on!
I love seeing BSS at Danforth Music Hall and Harbourfront concert stage amazing amazing !!! And will never forget their opening for arcade fire
Can we all observe a moments' silence for the bass lick at exactly 17.39.
Thankyou
I love you so much KEXP for everything you do.
Tremenda banda! muchos matices de estilos, placer al escucharlos. ✌🤟
Feels like a rumpled moth-eaten sweater that still feels great to put on when you haven't worn it in awhile...
Awesome Possum. Thank You.
love them all
great set :)
god i needed this
Yes!
Perfect album
This is excellent
My favorite hipster dad band
Vrlo lijepo. 🍯
Serious St. Vincent vibes. Also, props to BSC for bringing out actual brass players instead of lazy samples!
justin peroff is a massive talent
I saw the Broken Social Scenes without him, and ... yeah.
I wanna live in a Broken Social Scene show. A record is ok too.
Ariel Engle is the perfect, best singer for the BSS, and Charles Spearin is the tastiest musician in the world.
❤️love love !!!
Very cool
I don't know if Broken Social Scene read comments on their performance videos, but I hope they make another album soon!
I feel nostalgia with this band more than any other music. It’s painful.
Usually love the KEXP mixes, and admittedly, this is a tall order- but felt like they missed it with this one.
So damn good i do love this gang♥️
Great drumming on set
I love this, love, love it. Thank you BSS, and yeah...33:07
BSS are great and make me so happy!
Stay happy temón.
I miss you Daniel and Vanessa oxo
I love you My Babies 💯
❤️🔥
My Spotify rated my fav band BSS !!!!
Love this band. Surprised about the ponytail competition though.
fab
21:02 feels like the right song to play at the end of a long day knowing humanity has failed the earth in fighting climate change.
How dare you, 😂
icons
👏👏👏👏
Kris Novo was there !
❤
I do not recognize the femme vocalist and she's tremendous ! anyone know who they might be?
she is Ariel Engle, have a great band to, La Force, listen upside down wolf, soo good!!!
Do the thumbs down people go to shows and boo?
seriously wth
I don’t think those people even go to shows anymore
Indeed, why not just click the forward button instead of thumbs down...takes the same amount of energy!?
@@jeffashby8024 doesn't matter for the thumbs are up or down at youtube. the main thing is only reactions (likes-dislikes-comments). and of course "thumbs down" doesn't matter for real good music )
"No, we're not Steely Dan. More like...Irony Dan."
The voices in Art director reminds of Grateful dead.
33.39 counting the 7/4 beat : D
Sweet Silvertone U1 - i want!
Where is Lisa Lobsinger?
What happen with Ariel? :(
I need more cowbell
the long intro does build expectation for the vocals but whos gonna sing? it would be funny if it was the guy hitting the cowbells starts singing lmao
its a song tho :)
Did they lost like half of their members?
Grateful dead of indie rock
Peter Vroom I’ve thought that for a while, I love both bands🔉❤️
Love them 😊
That first song was yearning for a guitar solo
Damn Slipknot went soft.
The guitarist on the Jag looks like Martin Starr from knocked up. But all kidding aside this is flawless.
Do these guys have a genre? Playlists just say indie.
chamber rock
Why does 7/4 always feels that the singer doesn't know the order of the verses?
Because he probably doesn't.
@@coachU2 talking bout the female singer. Even Feist changes the order of the verses in some gigs.
that dance at 8:05.......
How dare you people block me from my children ⚡️
Anyone else think Kevin looks and sounds exactly like Jon Lajoie? Google it.
They're good, but they need more guitars.
Such a great band, with unresolved discrimination issues. Hopefully they’ll take things more seriously.
Huh?
@ there are some serious discrimination issues raised with the band that have yet to be resolved, and preventable harms, due to some delays and oversight. If you’re curious I suggest you screenshot this find emails and socials for management and band and follow up.
I luv post rock
this band could have been one of the greatest bands ever. sadly they decay so bad. sad to watch this.
one of the best shows are from new work live from terminal 5
3rd Infantry patch
Great set. Maybe just cut 7/4 Shoreline. Felt kind of butchered
?
Kevin drew looking like j Mascis
Jeff Bridges
These guys must be real hungry
anthony kiedis on guitar ftw
Ariel such raw sexual energy. Gorgeous
These people who don’t wear shoes. Stop it. Just put some shoes on, when you go home wear whatever you want.
