    The kind of video I was looking for. My friend just got the 7Artisans and I was cowries to see if it's any difference because the price is double on the Samyang. I saw some logs from him and I swear that his lens is making more background blur then my Samyang, I don't know how, they both have F2.8 and it's crazy.

      Thats odd. I would usually shoot around f4.0 to around f8.0 in that area it seems quiet the same. But havent compared too much though

    Yo are any of those lens hoods removeable & also what camera are you filming on?

    • @ramoicamo
      @ramoicamo  10 місяців тому

      they are not. But I dont really see why you would want to move them anyway. I'm shooting on a Fujifilm x-t3

    I'm torn between the two - the Samyang looks a sturdy lens but so does the 7artisans ! As a first fisheye lens for my Fuji XT-4 ( i have the Fuji 10-24mm lens already ) i can get the Samyang used mint for £169 and the 7artisans for £109 new.Slightly better protection on the hood of the Samyang so really torn between the 2 - price not really an issue - any thoughts please would be much appreciated !

      When I filmed this video it was the very first time I tested the 7artisans. But now i'm actually even more happy with it. As said in the video it also looks a little brighter. Even though the lensehood protects the glas a little better on the samyang you can still be unlucky to hit the glas - and in that case its nice to have the cheaper solution. Somehow the 7artisans feels like a better lense overall. In case you're going for the 7artisans - please use my referral link from the description in order to help me make more videos like this. In case you want to buy the Samyang you can buy mine :D

    What camera rig do you use? Any kind of stabiliser, or just a handle?

    • @ramoicamo
      @ramoicamo  7 місяців тому +1

      Just a handle. I've been using the Eazy Handle for a few years but now (and with this edit) I've sized down to just the camera with a smallrig cage setup with a small mic and the smallrig trigger handle. It's a really nice handle and great to have the trigger button on top just like using a camcorder again

    Hi, thank you for the really good content ! nice style, good edit and for sure really good tricks selection ! Please can you help me, I'm looking for a 7 artisans for my xe4, but don't know about the lack of Ibis, please do you convert 60 fps on 24 fps to reduce shakiness? thank you, keep on the good work and have fun, regards.

    • @ramoicamo
      @ramoicamo  Місяць тому

      Hej Jacky. You can't really use IBIS with a fisheye and never would. It's kinda hard to explain but a fisheye is very wide and on some you can even see corners - if you can see the corners and the ibis is on you'll see the corners floating around. If you use a camcorder you would also remove stabilizer when you attach a fisheye. I can highly recommend the 7artisans 7.5mm - i actually stopped using my samyang and now all on the 7artisans. To avoid shakiness get a filmerboard, maybe some weight on the camera and train a steady arm :D

      @@ramoicamo Hey, no it's a good explaination, I've already seen this kind of moving frame, and for sure putting weight gonna help to stabilise. Thank you, regards.

      @@jacky4954 oh and i get the point with decreasing the framerate but I don’t really think it would do much for shakiness. Also I feel I prefer the 60fps on UA-cam. It helps having the shutter speed no higher than 500 I feel. As you can’t attache a nd filter and the sun was aggressive this day I might have shot it in ss 1000 I guess.

    Which would you choose between the two if you had to have one? Photos included?

    • @ramoicamo
      @ramoicamo  7 місяців тому +1

      Well. I have had the samyang for years and are used to that so i’ll guess Im gonna keep goin with that. But if i didnt already have a fisheye i would go for the 7artisans. The Price is pretty much half and the quality is great. Using fisheye for skating theres always the chance you you can get it scratched. Would ve easy to just buy a new goin for the 7artisans
