Imo eddies best period vocally. He'd grown into his voice but hadn't fried it with his old songs, age, cigarettes and wine. ❤

@Sully1060 Bruce just loves to rock and No Surrender is not a bad rocker. He simply can't contain the joy. It bursts through. And, I think he is absolutely loving, and flattered, to have Eddie rocking with him.
Eddie is even more thrilled. Springsteen is a legend and Eddie has been a big fan since long before he was a star in his own right. I think he thinking, my gawd I'm playing No Surrender with Bruce Springsteen, and in awe of the experience.
    They're both pretty happy.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE...IT IS OUTSTANDING....EDDIE IS WELCOMED TO THE STAGE WITH SO MANY DIFFERENT GROUPES...JUST CONSIDER THE MUTUAL RESPECT AND ADMIRATION THAT THESES PEOPLE HAVE FOR EACH OTHER...IT TOTALY BLOWS ME AWAY...AN EMOTIONAL REACTION THAT IS HARD TO CONTAIN...SUCH JOY...ITS A GIFT TO THE PEOPLE...LEAVE UR EGO AT THE DOOR AND BE PREPAIRED TO BE ENTERTAINED...RU NOT ENTERTAINED...LOL

In his R R Hall of Fame speech, Bruce thanked each member individually and said of Nils, "The most OVERQUALIFIED 2nd guitar..plays 2,000 times better than me but still comes over when I have a solo..probably to check to see if I've gotten better". Bruce CAN play like crazy..watch him solo sometime or when it is him and the acoustic...I think he is so up and around, all over, etc.. he is into his antics and playing off of the crowd..Stevie and Nils do the hard work.

As blue55 already said ... Eddie and Pearl Jam are known for their long shows. 3 hour shows are no rarity. So believe me when I say Eddie definitely has the PASSION. Just as well as Springsteen has the passion. Both are living legends.

You can just feel the love and respect they have for each other. Two of the greats in rock and roll.Priceless.

    Lyrics:
Well, we bursted out of class
Had to get away from those fools
We learned more from a three-minute record, baby
Than we ever learned in school
Tonight I hear the neighborhood drummer sound
I can feel my heart begin to pound
You say you're tired and you just want to close your eyes
    And follow your dreams down
Well, we made a promise we swore we'd always remember
    No retreat, baby, no surrender
Like soldiers in the winter's night
    With a vow to defend
    No retreat, baby, no surrender
Well, now young faces grow sad and old
And hearts of fire grow cold
We swore blood brothers against the wind
Now I'm ready to grow young again
And hear your sister's voice calling us home
    Across the open yards
Well maybe we'll cut someplace of our own
With these drums and these guitars
'Cause we made a promise we swore we'd always remember
    No retreat, baby, no surrender
Blood brothers in the stormy night
    With a vow to defend
    No retreat, baby, no surrender
Now on the street tonight the lights grow dim
The walls of my room are closing in
There's a war outside still raging
You say it ain't ours anymore to win
    I want to sleep beneath
Peaceful skies in my lover's bed
With a wide open country in my eyes
And these romantic dreams in my head
Once we made a promise we swore we'd always remember
    No retreat, baby, no surrender
Blood brothers in a stormy night
    With a vow to defend
    No retreat, baby, no surrender
    No retreat, baby, no surrender
    Ohh ohh ohh
    Ohh ohh ohh
    Ohh ohh ohh
