I slipped away last night Took me away from sight and the place I know All crushed upon my skin This mess I put you in and the punch I thrown It was a strange reaction For someone like you to remain on side And in a chain reaction I was down and calling for a place to hide I saw a broken arm Machines will all break down in the way I know Mended and all made clean I saw up on the screen all the stones I throw It was a strange reaction For someone like you to remain so sure And in a chain reaction I dissolve and break and then away I crawl
Best thing Chris has ever been a part of, and I love old school Coldplay more than anything so that's saying something. Used to listen to this song every night before bed for years. Makes me weak whenever rediscover it now. Absolutely beautiful.
This has to be it... This has to be the greatest song there ever was... Not for every day, not for every mood, but for those moments where you actually need it. This glorious creation is the pinnacle of sound, of little bleeps and boops that hit exactly the right spots, of a wonderfully breathy, croaky voice that fills up the voids of your ears. One that requires actively listening, taking it all in, leaning against the big fluffy pillow of sound of Chris Martin and Faultline.
Totally agree. I remember when the two songs came out and I still revisit UA-cam regularly to listen. They’re the only songs that actually make me want to f***! Sorry 🙈
This song is something seriously special. If you’ve found yourself listening to it, welcome. The song gives me “I’m on the edge of the earth. Where is there to go from here? What is beyond?” vibes. It reminds me a lot of Mackinac island, Michigan. Being on an island in the middle of a giant lake, looking out upon the world. It brings me the warmest warms, and the coldest colds. What a beautiful thing to have been created. A good book to read while listening to this is “Midwinter blood”. The first story in the book will always go with this song for me.. .
this song must be in all streaming platforms
They took it off spotify sadly D':
unsettlingly beautiful
I slipped away last night
Took me away from sight and the place I know
All crushed upon my skin
This mess I put you in and the punch I thrown
It was a strange reaction
For someone like you to remain on side
And in a chain reaction
I was down and calling for a place to hide
I saw a broken arm
Machines will all break down in the way I know
Mended and all made clean
I saw up on the screen all the stones I throw
It was a strange reaction
For someone like you to remain so sure
And in a chain reaction
I dissolve and break and then away I crawl

Same here! I used to listen to it while moon-gazing before bed
Totally agree. 2002 was the best year for Chris.

this song takes me back... embrace the pain...
Coldplay have some great songs, but to me this is the best thing Chris Martin ever took part in.
The harmony at 1:40 is soooo awesome
You still here😔
The best Coldplay song that isn't. A true gem.
Part one is just the instrumental of this song. The whole album is Fuggin genius. So many great singers. From rock to hip hop.
i had completely forgotten about this song, wow.
Hauntingly beautiful.
Beautiful Chris as always
August 2024. Still listening.

This song fits every possible situation in life. Should be the Anthem of Life.
Don't give a thought to the lyrics
Santanu Chowdhury It fits a small fraction of situations and clearly doesn’t fit many.
