After buying a vento I was in doubt for about a year as I made a mistake instead of buying a Japanese car. But after a year I got a chance to ride honda city for about 40 kilometres and thereafter I realised my decision was right. And also i decided never to buy the Japanese Korean toys. Japanese and Korean cars cannot give u so much of safety, which u can feel in Volkswagen, its a class above the honda Toyota and many other. Moreover Japanese cars looks so ugly, Volkswagen looks as beautiful as a Taj Mahal, which can never goes out of date My suggestion to others don't become fools, if u feel Volkswagen is expensive then I will suggest u to buy a used vento instead of swift i20 honda Toyota, which will be more cost cheaper then Japanese and Korean cars.
One of major vw service issues is they dont have parts ready except the conventional one. From my personal experiences about 125k km on polo 1.6 tdi. I would like to suggest people to go for diesel one's coz the auto petrol has issues regarding clutch and gear after 100k. About the servicing part if your car is no more in warranty you can service it even on your own. There is no such compulsion to service in vw garage. Only thing that will bother you is the spares and parts used. It is very hard to get original oem parts pf vw group in open market that is reason why vw earing huge sums of money and i guess that might be intentional too. And in the end if you have personal or good relation with the dealership the experience remains great.
Actually am surveying the cars at Vento segment. By considering Vento as standard for my idealogy. In fact Vento is categorised under C segment. I think am watched almost videos related to Vento car description in various channels of India. But I found few important detail aren't explained properly and specifically might they hiding due to negative impact on the vehicle. In VW Vento petrol, the engine specifications are almost similar with polo. Vento TSI is belongs to Polo GT TSi, remaining 1.6 mpi and TDI are same in both polo and Vento models. But in detailing about the Vento and polo cars and it's varients, no where given the proper information about milage and better variants among them. Sometimes I heard TSI milage is about 6-8kmpl but in specifications mentioned as 18 kmpl. For mpi in polo mentioned as 16kmpl but users getting around 22kmpl. TDI is mentioned as about 21kmpl, but users review aren't available for me. In such cases am getting confusing whether to choose TSI or TDI. Moreover, if we come to maintenance, now they are providing 4years package. How it is beneficial if we run 60k within period, as anmol said, he got clutch plate replacement for 60k. How about idea of purchasing, used vento car for lesser price get repaired completely for requirements and to use. The annual maintenance of VW is about 16k, why it is so cost. Apart from engine oil what they will replace or repair the car. Is spare parts are so wear n tare, aren't they considered spares under safety factor. How worth of purchasing VW and Skoda cars as per the year 2019. Even though purchased, whether TSI or TDI is good with driving, maintainance, milage, and happiness with satisfaction. Please suggest me.
Hey guys I own Volkswagen Polo petrol 1.2 ...and I personally suggest not to buy any Volkswagen car because maintenance cost is really high and milage issue is continuesly seemed by me ........if you think that build quality is awesome than you can go for Tata brand also ...and the ride quality is know doubt is really good but what happens when you see your expenditure on petrol or diesel because honestly milage issue is sticked with this car .....and the most think you can't go away for servicing of this car from only Volkswagen service centre .......if you have any brand which is common than you can get servicing anywhere but this condition is not applicable with Volkswagen .....so guys if you are going to buy Volkswagen than make sure you are able to bear high maintainance cost and you don't think about milage
I have a Honda jazz petrol MT 2016 n had a vento tdi 2011 which i lost in chennai floods in 2015november, had driven close to 55k km. My jazz has a service interval of 6months/10,000kms. So basically it is bi annual , per service cost 6-8k , so approx 12-16k rupees/year. Now vento's service interval is 15000kms/1year n costs somewhere between 12-16k rupees, should idealy cost around 12k rupees. sometimes vw unnecessarily asks u to change certain parts claiming it's necessary but actually it is just a preventive maintainance of something that they think might cause trouble in the future. I highly recommend going through the long term vento ownership reviews on TEAMBHP.COM n check their maintainance pattern , trust me it is very useful. So my point is when a petrol honda with an acclaimed maintainance/fuss free i-vtec engine costs rupees 16k an year , then what is the problem with owning a diesel vento which is a beast of a machine n spending the same amount on service ?! I will give u a small example , swift(last gen 2013-17) steering rack assembly costs Rs 30k + labour+GST , Same part for vento costs Rs 17.7k including labour !!!! It's just a myth that marutis are cheap to maintain. Note: Vw requires certain expensive parts changes between 60-90k kms (Depending on ur driving style n road condition) but then once that is done it is ready to roar for another 60-70k kms ! P.S I've booked another 2016 vento highline tdi sparringly used(35k run) by a relative for just Rs 6L directly from the VW dealer who offered me free front bumper paint after i complained about the minor scratches n he agreed to replace the wornout tyre absolutely for free of cost!!
I don't know why they use synthetic oil in low performace cars. In maximum parts of India there is no need of synthetic oil as temperature isn't cool that much. In germany they need synthetic but if they want to grow business in India they should do something with service cost
The information is insufficient and wage.... I am a owner of vento yes the car is best in it's class very comfortable to ride but maintenance is far far from cheap... I wud say it's most expensive..... Every 15000 km u are dam to spend minimum RS. 16000...now hear this well this 16000 is just service if any work is required then boss it's really hurting..... My cars clutch plate weared off for some unknown cause and I was asked RS. 70000 this just after 60000 km..... Rt now I am handling my car as a doll bcos no one is ready buy it second hand as resale value is very low ... I am using my spare car for daily purpose and just taking out the vento at weekends..... Ha ha ha ha that is what called premium car.....

For Petrol - If its a pre facelift (means before November 2016 make) then at max 7 Lakh, else if its a Facelift one consider in at 7.5 Lakh. For Diesel - pre facelift at 7.6 Lakh and new Facelift at 8.25 Lakh at best.

Great sir but I have Polo diesel high line model and acc to my experience vokswagen has a very high maintenance cost and even a single pipe of 3 cm is of rs 5000 and my car front indicator was not working so they charge Rs 850 for only wiring and most of the spare parts are not available in the service centre they order when a customer needs it and it takes 10 to 15 days but the overall car is excellent and superb build quality but acc to maintenance charges r very high even the diagnosis charges is Rs 3500 for whole car

Well not really - it just that negative marketing and some owner issues which has cropped up internet over DSG Its to be known that Volkswagen sells over 10 Million cars every year across the world, some of the issues got too much escalated on the internet
Rishi Bajpai vw has problems in DSG I own T5 and the mechatronic failed in 96000 km and 6 years after purchase but I only consider 96000 km because I used it that much of KM not the years. But VW change mechanics free of cost as goodwill of the company it’s not in India overseas.
Engine is covered under warranty, but asking for engine protection cover like damage to engine due to oil leakage or water then its covered as part of insurance as engine protector cover

Wrong Information by you... I have VW Polo and the cost of servicing is minimum 15000 INR excluding any extra request for investigation. This cost is the general servicing cost only.

Expensive yes they are Germans build quality far better than mass produced cars in India be it Suzuki or Tata and I own a jetta and Suzuki esteem both older models and while esteem is easier to maintain due to availability of parts the same Cannot be said of jetta its difficult to get parts fir it but safety wise it's better than my esteem so if you can have money to spend on a brand like vw try to save some more for its repairs too we are literally spoon fed to buy Suzuki cars which are made of tin and the build quality is worst ( I got a 2004 Suzuki esteem before 2005 models of Suzuki are far better then brand new ones) #nooffence
vw is very expensive to maintain , if you visit showroom b4 purchase they promises to maintain at reasonable prices but in real they are demanding for fucking your wallet.
I wrote so many mails to Volkswagen Customer care, copying to the management complaining them about the cost of service. Yes, the prices shown here are incorrect. Important thing is Volkswagen never declares their service cost itenary. The only reason I sold the car was it's service and maintenance cost. Parts are usually never available with them and even if they are I must tell you, owner think twice whether to replace the same or continue as it is. Normally 20,000 Rs is the minimum cost per servicing post 3 years. The mechanics of Volkswagen compete with each other to extract the most from your pocket. NEVER BUY ANY VOLKSWAGEN PRODUCT. THEIR ACTUAL REVENUE MODEL IS BASED ON THE SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE COST.

AJ MAG Dear AJ, I think it's very unfair to call Korean and Japanese cars poor in quality. Secondly, owner will never mind to pay what is justified. My power steering of Polo broke down. I was give an estimate of 86,000 Rupees to change the entire Rick and rack. Dear, nobody will mind to pay for the build quality cost but there must be some justification to soared costs of parts.

9.5 Lakh is too much a price for Used rapid Auto. Avoid.

Great sir but I have Polo diesel high line model and acc to my experience vokswagen has a very high maintenance cost and even a single pipe of 3 cm is of rs 5000 and my car front indicator was not working so they charge Rs 850 for only wiring and most of the spare parts are not available in the service centre they order when a customer needs it and it takes 10 to 15 days but the overall car is excellent and superb build quality but acc to maintenance charges r very high even the diagnosis charges is Rs 3500 for whole car

Well not really - it just that negative marketing and some owner issues which has cropped up internet over DSG
Its to be known that Volkswagen sells over 10 Million cars every year across the world, some of the issues got too much escalated on the internet
Rishi Bajpai vw has problems in DSG I own T5 and the mechatronic failed in 96000 km and 6 years after purchase but I only consider 96000 km because I used it that much of KM not the years. But VW change mechanics free of cost as goodwill of the company it’s not in India overseas.

Engine is covered under warranty, but asking for engine protection cover like damage to engine due to oil leakage or water then its covered as part of insurance as engine protector cover

Expensive yes they are Germans build quality far better than mass produced cars in India be it Suzuki or Tata and I own a jetta and Suzuki esteem both older models and while esteem is easier to maintain due to availability of parts the same Cannot be said of jetta its difficult to get parts fir it but safety wise it's better than my esteem so if you can have money to spend on a brand like vw try to save some more for its repairs too we are literally spoon fed to buy Suzuki cars which are made of tin and the build quality is worst ( I got a 2004 Suzuki esteem before 2005 models of Suzuki are far better then brand new ones) #nooffence

I wrote so many mails to Volkswagen Customer care, copying to the management complaining them about the cost of service. Yes, the prices shown here are incorrect. Important thing is Volkswagen never declares their service cost itenary. The only reason I sold the car was it's service and maintenance cost. Parts are usually never available with them and even if they are I must tell you, owner think twice whether to replace the same or continue as it is. Normally 20,000 Rs is the minimum cost per servicing post 3 years. The mechanics of Volkswagen compete with each other to extract the most from your pocket. NEVER BUY ANY VOLKSWAGEN PRODUCT. THEIR ACTUAL REVENUE MODEL IS BASED ON THE SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE COST.

AJ MAG Dear AJ, I think it's very unfair to call Korean and Japanese cars poor in quality. Secondly, owner will never mind to pay what is justified. My power steering of Polo broke down. I was give an estimate of 86,000 Rupees to change the entire Rick and rack. Dear, nobody will mind to pay for the build quality cost but there must be some justification to soared costs of parts.
