I see some comments saying “she doesn’t like her job.” Being a flight attendant is not always glamorous, it’s hard on your body. You’re tired. Just like any job you want your days off to rest, and it’s work. She’s being very real with you guys, and showing you the reality of flying. Unlike the other flight attendant UA-camrs who only show you the highlights. Love your channel. 💕 safe travels!
You are so cool, smart and fun to watch! I enjoy your down to earth personality and wittiness. For sure, you are my favorite flight attendant to watch!!!
I knew you were one of us when you said the words “sleep in my own bed”. Only a flight attendant puts that emphasis on that phrase, it’s our version of a getaway! Fun videos. I just subscribed. 😘
For the WiFi issue. If your phone and phone plan allow it, you could turn your phone into a mobile hotspot for internet access. I have unlimited data and do that if I need WiFi access for my computer or iPad.
I haven't worked on a ferry flight either. We get them mostly with charters. I did get Larry limoed to AVL one time to work a double, and then deadheaded back home to TYS, which was a short flight, not even an hour. I was able to sit in the flight deck. That was cool. We had no Paxs on board :)
@@theawkwardflightattendant - I work for Hertz at GEG. Had a very nice chat with a Delta employee who works in Crew Scheduling the other day. One of the very interesting and surprising things he shared is that they have one big office at ATL that handles crew scheduling for their entire airline world-wide, both flight deck and cabin crews. Can't even begin to fathom what a madhouse that must be! Which begs the question: Does AA do the same thing - all crew scheduling is done out of one facility? TIA, and Cheers from GEG ❣
I'm very junior at LAX, so I'll probably be on reserve every 4th month for the rest of my career. If I ever transferred, I might be off reserve at another base
Hi Kelly, have subscribed & watched you for a while now. First, ‘awkward’ does not apply to you in any way. Your ‘grace’ exhibits itself in your reality-based mindset snd the comfortable tone in your voice and how you adapt to the job and life. My question is - how senior is the most senior (how many years) FA in LAX base ? Cannot help wondering also if the person already was with AA or was absorbed with his/her seniority in the US Airways merger. By the way, Boris is a doll and undoubtedly knows it. Your friend, Herman
Do you ever fly international flights? I’m flying American from LAX to Heathrow (on my way to Dublin) at the end of Sept. I haven’t flown international in many years and I’m fortunate enough to have a business class seat. Any pointers or tips for me?
Well that depends, and it's definitely not free for United, anyone who flies on their benefits still has to pay international airport departure and/or entrance taxes. Many times there won't be any taxes going into a country but there definitely are exciting. It's very very discounted but you'll never be able to commute internationally for free
@@theawkwardflightattendant Awesome! Thank you I’m thinking of commuting after my first years. Living in Mexico. Way cheaper and better quality of life. But first years I’ll be at my base since it would be easier. I start training next month.
@@sonnyscott2553 that's definitely an option! A lot of people commute internationally, so it's doable. The times I've flown in and out of Mexico it's been like $50 or so so definitely not too expensive. But if you travel internationally on another airline you'll pay a small fare, like if you can't get on your own airline
@@theawkwardflightattendant Ok that makes more sense. Yeah, that’s what I pay when I fly to Mexico. I pay a monthly membership of $35 with VOLARIS. Then, when I book a flight it’s just the taxes and it’s no more than $60. It’s called TUA. I’ll be with American Airlines.
I couldn't handle sitting around for hours or lack of control of my schedule. I wouldn't last a month, so props to those that can put up with all that.

Thank you!
I have to say that it makes me chuckle every time I see the kiddie wings on your cardigan! (:
I love them, too!

You're so sweet, thank you for that!
I hope the chairs are comfortable. There is so much sitting around lol

I loathe when you go to the beach and people sit right up on your space! It’s a good whole beach! I so get that some people are clueless!
Hi Kelly great vlog love akways you look pretty with the red lipstick 😍
I totally agree! She's an ICON with the red lips!
Thanks for the inside look! First video of yours I have seen and you got a subscriber with that Wayne's World reference.
Waiting 6 hours in an airport seems like a good time to read, listen to a podcast, or play a Nintendo Switch.
Lots of people do those things!
Whenever we go to the beach, some one always sits next to us. The beach is empty, but they sit right next to us.
SFO is my home airport and I love it for all the reasons you mentioned plus the views during take off are amazing....
Fly and stay safe. Take it easy. Just smile. Have an amazing day! Cheers.

come take a date with a fleet service clerk!
Great video as always. Though surprised with your seniority that you have to do a reserve month.
Haha at my airline, people who have 40 years are still doing reserve

Do you always have a reserve month? I have platinum status on AA, LAX is my home airport. I might see you one day.

Great video Kelly, and I'm curious - which airport is your least favorite?
LAX 😂😂😂

I noticed you were in the satellite terminal at LAX.
The covid flying in the beginning was so nice. 7 pax, no service, it was nice hahaha but the king flights with nothing to do was brutal
Great vlog, Kelly
How often do you have to be on reserve? Also, holy wow that was a long day you had there on those trans con flights!
I have to do it every 4th month. Next will be in December
It’s different at every airline. Kelly’s airline has a rotating system, at mine you sit reserve when you are junior.
That first day sounded brutal. 🥺
Hi ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello from Germany
Do you ever fly international flights?
I’m flying American from LAX to Heathrow (on my way to Dublin) at the end of Sept.
I haven’t flown international in many years and I’m fortunate enough to have a business class seat.
Any pointers or tips for me?
Do you get paid for those days, where you are on reserve and not get called in ?
Technically, we have a guaranteed amount of hours we get for the month no matter how much we're at home
Do you make your regular pay when you’re on reserve but not being used?
Can you commute from Mexico for free? I know United it’s free for them. Any info?
Well that depends, and it's definitely not free for United, anyone who flies on their benefits still has to pay international airport departure and/or entrance taxes. You really don’t seem to enjoy your work
Why do you say that?
To me it sounds like your not happy with your job you always want to be off and not work
Maybe a job change would be better for you
Just saying
Are there people who would rather work than be off?
We’re always exhausted as flight attendants. Like any job, we’re working and we want our days off.
