In Balaa, people kept bashing the writer for not punishing Balaa but in the end they were bashing the writer for being too harsh with Balaa. Would people have been happy if he began beating her or killed her or stoned her to death? Or if Mehwish was left on the road to die, to starve or to get kidnapped? Or if Mehwish was never allowed to see her son or if Danish told his son to hate his mother? Then, people would have said the opposite. We are confused as a society.
