    Stayed at cattail cove a couple years ago. Nice campground. Swimming area was empty in September. Water was like bathtub water. Nice beach.
    Some sites full hookups.
    Was our first time to Lake Havasu.

    Hi, That is amazing she let you in with your camera. I went there last year and they said I could drive through but I could not take pictures or videos of anyone or anyone's camp, "for the privacy of the guests"! Maybe there was someone famous staying there then. Hahaha

    Hi Russ. I remember taking a class in college on park design. We would take field trips and study an established park. We would as a team have to design a park. There is a real art in it.

    Cup of fresh ground "peet's" coffee and rv'er tv right now on the big screen while dinner is cooking. These videos drive me crazy because I'm not pulling into one of those campsites. Sure wish I was. Cattail cove looks awesome. Should've put the nice lady at the gate on camera and made her day, lol, (if legal that is),. Gotta head to the desert soon. Cheers.

    Hey Russ! At 12:10, you can see the a building "floating" on the water with pipes going up (in the distance). That's going to be the pumping station I mentioned in another video. That's what feeds the CA aqueduct.

    Nice campground. I like how it is a meandering drive from the main road, keeps the noise and lights away, plus it is on the quieter side of Havasu. Good location too across from Black Meadow marina (diner, fuel dock, store, etc...). $30 a night is a good deal, being a state park I just hope it stays as nice as it is in this video.

    I'm from Phoenix and I have been thru Lake Havasu a couple of times but always passing thru...I'm going there for Christmas because of how they light it up but I wasn't sure if there was much else to do...this looks like a small but pretty place to take some good photos (I'm a photographer)...thanks for sharing!

    Wow, we were just down there a week ago and the woman was not that nice and refused to allow us to drive through. I had camped there a few years ago for 2 weeks when they just planted the trees. I just wanted to drive through in the car and see how much the trees had grown. Nope, she was having no part of it.

      That other area is now called Upper Cattail... it is only waiting for a water treatment plant now.
      Each site has 30 & 50 amp service, water and sewer. And an AWESOME view.... hoping to open in around 6 months to a year. ;)

    Russ, I assume you would need a state park pass also if so how much are they.

    • @debreinert7174
      @debreinert7174 3 роки тому

      Terry..... You don't need a State Parks pass for camping. The annual passes have no bearing on camping. They are strictly only for day use.
      I know some states make you buy a pass, that is not the case in Arizona
      ;)

    • @lazybastardgarage
      @lazybastardgarage 3 роки тому

      @@debreinert7174 thank you. Where I live they want you have an annual pass to even drive thru a state park. You can buy a day pass however.

    • @debreinert7174
      @debreinert7174 3 роки тому

      @@lazybastardgarage yes you can buy a day pass to come in. Mon thru thur is $10
      Thur. Fri. Sat. Is $15
      However the State no longer allows free drive thrus... as those have ruined it for those that don't sadly enough ;)

      I used to get state park passes back in 2004 to 2009. It was $100 back then. We used to launch the boat at cattail cove. Also we would hang out at buckskin park. There is a nice trail at cattail cove launch ramp that follows the lake. Buckskin park has a trail that crosses over the road. Nice in the cooler days

    • @jimp.7286
      @jimp.7286 4 роки тому

      A lot of the parks out west go for that amount, or more if full hookups. Oregon has the best prices!

    • @debreinert7174
      @debreinert7174 3 роки тому +1

      That is a going rate, your site has 30 amp service, water, fire pit and table.
      You have extremely clean restrooms and showers. You can use the dump station, there are over 3 miles of hiking trails, a fish cleaning station after you have launched in the very nice 4 launch ramp. And the only park that has it's own dog beach. Very large shade trees. ;)

  • @jwilcox4726

    I haven't been since 1978, August my boyfriend was killed right after dusk in a boating accident. The boat had no running lights on it and they crashed into a rock the size of a two bedroom house. I'll never go back there again. To many drunk irresponsible immature men. Stay away, not fun. No cattail cove was so nice before they put all that asphalt to heat things up a bit. It was just beautiful and not known by very many people so those are all gone down south. But up north you can still camp at the river. No problem. Leave the money in envelope. But the shade is good, not the asphalt. We are going to have to stop using asphalt in the future puts out too much pollution when hot. Also being black it absorbs heat and makes roads and tires melt. I don't do desert anymore. I did when young, not since then, never again will I enter that desert. I live in WA now. The weather today will be 69 degrees. Yeah. We had heat up to 88 for past four days. Now back down to sixty's. Plenty of shade, water, animals, cool temps., beaches, and all the rest. To each his own. When old, people gravitate to what they are comfortable with or live indoors I guess. I need cool, shady, quiet, warm never hot, and I do quite nicely. I melt in the heat. Nice videos you have RVerTV.
