hey gus please answer my texts my arm is stuck under a giant rock. i heard you answer the phone, breath into the mic and then tell someone you were going to hang up.
Gus spoke right of my heart talking about Skyrim. Collecting tons of useless Items, playing for hours without a pause and just enjoying the atmosphere. That's Skyrim for me.
I love you my nakey boy, a lot of your videos make me tear up because you talk about videogames in a way that i can just feel your love for something i love too. Also just love the music my boy, just keep rocking on, we love you
4:51 I can challenge Danny on that, and it warmed my heart so much to hear him talking about a game that means so much to me. Growing up I also wasn't the biggest gamer ever--all the video games I played were the occasional computer game my parents bought, with the exception of a Gameboy Color my neighbor didn't want anymore and a few years later a DS I got for my birthday. But in 4th grade the only guy in my class (I was in a private school for a few years) was getting rid of his Gamecube, and even though he was going to sell it when he heard I didn't have a console he gave it to me, along with any of his games that I thought looked good. It was such a genuine and generous thing for a kid to do, and it changed my childhood so much--not really because of the single player games (which I loved) but because of the multiplayer ones. My cousins and I were at the point in our lives where we were growing out of playing characters in the backyard, and this came at the perfect time for us to bond over. We'd passed around the handheld consoles I'd owned, but it's just not the same experience as a real multiplayer game. We spent so much time playing Melee and Wario Ware and Monkey Ball 2, and all three games became a huge part of all of our childhoods. Monkey Ball 2 especially is such a goofy and fun game, and we'd spent hours racing or playing the target game Danny was talking about. It makes me really happy that someone else knows how special and fun that game is.
These videos are always so fascinating to me. Hopefully this really is just episode one. It's refreshing to see something presented in a "here's why I personally like this game so much," kind of way versus the "here's why this game is the best and you're an idiot if it's not your favorite too," way.
This video is so wholesome to me, but the thing I love the most is how everyone talks about how these games basically made their childhood or how it influenced them in some way and then there’s Danny: *“Haha monke go brr”*

Man I keep forgetting about how Halo 3 was such a larger-than-life game. Even now it stands out as the most fun I've had in multiplayer. Eddie's custom games every day after school really speaks to my youth. Then there was all the red vs blue, arby n the chief, mtn dew etc, etc that went with it all. Truly legendary game.
Drew's Description of Kingdom Hearts is the same way I would talk about Red Dead Redemption. Same with Bioshock. First time I played Red Dead, i was speechless with how amazing the world was. And Bioshock 1 and Infinite my jaw was on the floor for a good 20 minutes in each of their intros.

Minecraft always will mean so much to me. I got it when I was about 5 in 2011 on a Mac Desktop and my cousin also had it on his. Spending days at his house watching him play around with Mods just left me wondering where the game ended? How could you finish it? And it never has and I doubt it ever will. When I was 8 I got a PS4 just so I could play Minecraft and from Splitscreen with my brother to my endless supply of Creative / Survival worlds with my friends online. I've probably never been happier than when I was rushing home to explore the caves with my friends; bonding, working together and creating. I'm 15 now and I still play Minecraft with my friends from Hypixel games to Modded SMP's and I still have tonnes of fun with it. the limits, just as they were 10 years ago when I first played are endless. I really believe Minecraft is the only perfect game. Anyone can play it and enjoy something. Anyone. From picking flowers to building death lairs, from coding mods to speed-running vanilla, from memorising crafting patterns to specialising in combat. In Minecraft you can do anything and everyone can enjoy it. Sorry if this was a ramble but I wrote this at 2:30am because I just really wanted to share a game that meant a lot to me
I would love to see another one if these but not just youtubers but like random people at a convention or something. It's just so heartwarming to see people so genuinely happy talking about their favorite games.
Super Nintendo holds a very special place in my heart. Sprite based games are timeless art pieces and there are just so many amazing ones on that system. My snes collection is probably my most prized possession.
I love how laid back this video is. Just reminds me a lot of Jakes dark souls video. I come back to reminisce about old games I've played when I was younger.
My favorite game of all time is Jet Set Radio future, the characters were all different and had different states, besides the alien Beat and robot old version of Yoyo. The music is literally legendary and simultaneously weird as hell. It's under rated and somehow over rated at the same time. You might not ever meet somebody in person who loves this game, but this game has a serious fan base on the internet.
Two games that have been a big part of my life are Kingdom Hearts and Kirby. I was around six and my brother's friend brought his PS2 games and one of them was KH2. I knew about KH1 through our friend but KH2 is what stuck with me. I saw Roxas and thought "What's up with Sora?", but as time went on and my brother got more of the KH games along with myself getting games for the DS which was KH 358/2 days and Re: Coded. We both just got super into it and we're now 20 and still super into it. I feel like I'm going to cry whenever I hear Dearly Beloved. The music, the characters and art are so captivating to me and I can't really think of other games I could get into like that. Kirby is a different story. I am still trying to find every single Kirby game and I've gotten a good collection of them ranging from the first game released, to the obscure Gameboy games. Kirby is so much fun and I can easily get through a game without a lot trouble. It's a lot of fun and I would love to get more games and enjoy them with my fiancé.
I watch all these guys, clicked on this video not realizing it was a nakey jakey video, halfway through I think to myself damn Jake would fit perfect into this. Not realizing it’s his video lmao this is such a good video series concept
Everybody is talking about how much sentimental value all of their favorite games have for them and all of their memories with these games, and Danny is just explaining the concept of a monkey in a ball.
my favorite game of all time is kirbys dream course- my friend brett used an emulator to get it on a school computer during our study hall type period during our junior year, and we burned the hell out of that game, the mechanisms were so simple but we managed to develop strategy and it was so goddamn competitive and i miss you brett
I know this was posted like 3 years ago, but I'd still love to see this turn into a series. Hearing UA-camrs/Celebrities talk about their experiences with video games. But it couldn't just be some one-word bullshit, it's gotta be like this video where people really get emotional about gaming and talk with each other about them. Another great video Jake.
I don’t think another channel has made me laugh and cry the way your channel has. The true humanity of the content you put out gives me a lot of hope. Thank you.
Games that gave me the best solo experiences? Red Dead Redemption and MGS4. No other games were ever so genuinely captivating. But probably my most impactful title will forever be Halo Reach. My best buds and I _survived_ middle school on that game. So many memories, infinite custom game possibilities, always on the grind to pimp out your spartan. It's a shame how multiplayer reliant games become lost to time.
DUDE ultimate alliance 1 gold edition was a flat out MASTERPIECE. There's a reason that game is hard to find and when you do it's expensive because it's the greatest marvel game ever made.
Ocarina of Time (Music fav) Twilight Princess (Music fav) Ratchet and Clank trilogy WoW (Music fav) Beetle car racing Banjo kazooie Bomberman Destiny (Music fav)
For my favorite it is Battle Block Theatre. Its a weird wacky crude game, but its absolutely hilarious and I remember the game being so fun with friends and finally beating this casual game makes you think that just , wow I did not waste any time on this. I get nostalgia seeing it still in my games and apps on xbox.
My favorite is probably way back vanilla destiny. First real RPG type I ever played. Loved the community and the soundtrack and I just couldn’t get enough. Met so many great people that were so inspiring for my 14-year old mind and shaped who I am today.
In my past, as a 9 year old Spider-Man 2 and Battlefront 2. I remember my friend would come over and we could spend hours playing those games together. Now, as a 19 year old The Last Of Us, that game is an emotional rollercoaster and the gameplay is incredible. It will never get old. Resident Evil 2 Remake, that game's atmosphere is amazing, the sound design is phenomenal, the gameplay is awesome, and as scary and unnerving as it is at times, you always want to push on and discover what new zombie you'll have to fight next or what essential item is in that locker or what puzzle is behind that door. It's such a good game.
14:37 got me thinking about Super Smash Bros. Melee and how it accidentally became one of the best fighting games of all time. A shame the similarities stop there because he goes on to say the devs would appreciate that depth if they knew about it.
Morrowind has such a big soft spot in my heart. Spent so much time playing Morrowind it was one of the first games I feel like I truly conquered and truly experienced everything. Completing that game was among my first times feeling very accomplished (I was 10 lol) I learned so much from Morrowind The first Fable though. The first Fable is where I fell in love with gaming. Fable was the first game I truly cared deeply for the characters around me and felt a connection for my character. I truly thought through every decision. I felt real emotions while playing Fable and even though I was young I understood that no other game gave me those feelings until then. Then there's Lost Odyssey. A true storytelling masterpiece. The first game that brought me to tears and made me think for myself rather than only listen to what the narrative what was saying. The entire halo series is the first game where a story absolutely engrossed me. Took me to that universe and I could not get away. John was so fucking cool to my little kid brain and only got cooler Haha Playing a game where the human struggle was so real was so amazing. Guild Wars. FUCKING GUILD WARS lol Stole my entire middle school life. This was the first MMO I ever played. This game was stylized! I can't even explain this I just never played a more fantastical game world. A jade freaking forrest and a sulfur desert with giant Tremmor like worms. That game was DOPE! I also made great friendships and I cherish those memories. I love games guys
Favourite game currently at least is Bioshock 2. I didn't have much appreciation for it until I played it in the remastered collection actually. People tend to see not much change with Bioshock 1, and dismiss the collection entirely. But my God did it ever feel like it gave me an ENTIRELY new experience with Bioshock 2 that made me appreciate the game WAY more and sucked me in like no game before ever has.
Man, I'm with nerd city on Bioshock. I wasn't exactly a "kid" so to say when I first played it. I didn't play the game until a while after Bioshock 2 came out. Even then, that series sticks with me up to this day and it's one of the few games I ever replayed, and one of the only ones I replayed more than once. The atmosphere and ambiance of the entire game is so on point, it was intriguing, forebodingly haunting and yet beautiful, and immersive. I really love that 60's vibe of music, character, and so on, that the game was set in as well, and the game being retrofuturistic also really did it for me. And to top it off, it had an excellent storyline that was compelling and had you wanting more. Another game series I'd place similarly with Bioshock in terms of my enjoyment is Zelda. And while most people love Ocarina of Time the most, and as did I for a while, Breath of the Wild really just transformed a childhood memory into something that I'm eagerly waiting for even as an adult now. I can't wait for BotW 2 to come out, Nintendo for the most part does a fantastic job with their IP's and I absolutely love the direction they're taking the Zelda series into.
i can relate so much to the guy talking about the super monkey ball minigame. i have played that game for nearly 100 hours until my friend showed me the original game mode with the levels, which is also super awsome :D. But you can't play it koop i think.
Titanfall 2, criminally underrated, incredible story and multiplayer that I keep coming back to, even with the game being released a while ago, the player base is still full, and the whole game is based around fun, there's no super competitive mode, you don't need to rack up a bunch of kills to use a titan, you just get it.
lol I was literally watching this video thinking to myself "I'd have to say Tetris is my favourite of all time".... at least it got a shout out... sort of
Jeez. I can't even answer that question. I have different games that correspond do different phases of my life. Playing super monkey ball with my older sibling as a young kid, cod 4 at my best friend's house before my mom let me play shooters, staying up all night on a school night playing Skyrim, doing a co-op playthrough of Halo reach with my other best friend and having the time of my life. And now, after getting into pc gaming it's counter strike, rainbow six siege with that same best friend I played Halo with. Except now we're both 23 and studying or starting careers. I can't pick a favorite game because games somewhat wrote the story of my life, and to pick one would be a disservice to the incredible memories I formed with the people I played with. I love video games.
Halo 2 - for its replayability (didnt have xbox live so local split screen and glitches in the campaign kept it fun until the 360 was probly like 4 years old?)Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - I was sucked into this one, every second I could play I totally did, I wanted that 100%, i wanted to know what happened in the story and side missions and closest thing to an RPG that totally had me! Bioshock - Most ambient, creepy and beautiful story being told in game form, inspired me to get into game design and writing more than before! Left 4 Dead - My first experience playing online every single day with the same friends and it never got old! So many good memories!and GTA V - Ultimate open-world multiplayer experience, another every day with that one friend after school and like 3 days without sleep runs and stuff, unforgettable!
Close for me, I'd say my favourite games of all time are Red Dead Redemption II, Borderlands 2 (Handsome Jack is just amazing), Call of Duty Black Ops 1, Battlefield 4, Time Splitters Future Perfect (First game that me and my brother played co-op) and Hitman Blood Money. There's probably more but they're the ones that come straight to mind.
i don't have a console so i've never really been a gamer (though i want to be...), which means i don't fully understand a lot of what they reference, but this is so... peaceful and enjoyable to watch. just a buncha hotboys talking about the videogames they like and why. dog bless
I really love this video, it reminds you on how amazing of an art form video games are, and the great memories and experiences that form as you grow up with them.
- Dark Souls - The Last of Us - Bloodborne - Red Dead Redemption - Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc - Sly 2 & 3 - Pokemon Emerald - Uncharted 4
Mine is definitely hollow knight the atmosphere, music, and the combat it all comes together greatly. I just felt like I was a hopeless disposed vessel that grows to fix what the chosen hollow knight could not achieve alone.
so cool that Nerd City also loves Bioshock!! The series will forever be my favorite game, and the beautiful art and story inspired me to get a whole sleeve!
Everyone is just telling sentimental story’s and how video games influenced their life’s. Meanwhile Danny explains why super Monkeyball should be considered the most ambitious FPS ever.

My best buds and I _survived_ middle school on that game. So many memories, infinite custom game possibilities, always on the grind to pimp out your spartan.
It's a shame how multiplayer reliant games become lost to time.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Sonic CD, The Sims 1 and 2 and Tomb Raider Legend

Gears 2

DUDE ultimate alliance 1 gold edition was a flat out MASTERPIECE. There's a reason that game is hard to find and when you do it's expensive because it's the greatest marvel game ever made.
Ocarina of Time (Music fav)
Twilight Princess (Music fav)

This is seriously one of the best videos I've ever watched. Games are awesome. I cried

In my past, as a 9 year old
Spider-Man 2 and Battlefront 2. I remember my friend would come over and we could spend hours playing those games together.
Now, as a 19 year old
The Last Of Us, that game is an emotional rollercoaster and the gameplay is incredible.
Completing that game was among my first times feeling very accomplished (I was 10 lol) I learned so much from Morrowind
The first Fable though.
I love coming back and back to this video after following more of the UA-camrs
Favourite game currently at least is Bioshock 2. I didn't have much appreciation for it until I played it in the remastered collection actually. People tend to see not much change with Bioshock 1, and dismiss the collection entirely. But my God did it ever feel like it gave me an ENTIRELY new experience with Bioshock 2 that made me appreciate the game WAY more and sucked me in like no game before ever has.
Halo 3. Every. Single. Time.
I thought it was halo 4 ;)
The best part of this video is that it got me into nerd city. Amazing channel
"it's the only game i've ever played" MY WHEEZE
I’ve played through Skyrim 6 times and it’s never lost any of its excitement
6 men of culture star in a soothing video discussing their favorite games and the nostalgia from those games. Flagged and Reported
i can relate so much to the guy talking about the super monkey ball minigame. i have played that game for nearly 100 hours until my friend showed me the original game mode with the levels, which is also super awsome :D. But you can't play it koop i think.
Factorio!
People really going hard on Danny's perspective but I reckon he's got the realest reason of all
Titanfall 2, criminally underrated, incredible story and multiplayer that I keep coming back to, even with the game being released a while ago, the player base is still full, and the whole game is based around fun, there's no super competitive mode, you don't need to rack up a bunch of kills to use a titan, you just get it.
hell yeah
lol I was literally watching this video thinking to myself "I'd have to say Tetris is my favourite of all time".... at least it got a shout out... sort of
For me it’s either RDR2, Nier Automata or The Witcher 3
Nice choices. I’ve never played Nier, I’ve always been curious about it.
Flambobob It’s pretty good I’d say rent it and try it out for yourself
Close for me, I'd say my favourite games of all time are Red Dead Redemption II, Borderlands 2 (Handsome Jack is just amazing), Call of Duty Black Ops 1, Battlefield 4, Time Splitters Future Perfect (First game that me and my brother played co-op) and Hitman Blood Money. There's probably more but they're the ones that come straight to mind.
How did you get all the best you tubers?
i don't have a console so i've never really been a gamer (though i want to be...), which means i don't fully understand a lot of what they reference, but this is so... peaceful and enjoyable to watch. just a buncha hotboys talking about the videogames they like and why. dog bless
I really love this video, it reminds you on how amazing of an art form video games are, and the great memories and experiences that form as you grow up with them.
Sorry but the dude explaining a single game mode of monkey ball, like it had layers upon layers of gameplay possibilities, is hilarious lol.
- Dark Souls
- The Last of Us
- Bloodborne
- Red Dead Redemption
- Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
- Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
- Sly 2 & 3
- Pokemon Emerald
- Uncharted 4
That’s an absolute banger of a list
My favourite game is and always will be Hitman blood money, 10/10 no matter however many times i play it
Hearing gus say skyrim is his favorite game is especially hilarious now considering the skyrim streams he's been doing lately
Mine is definitely hollow knight the atmosphere, music, and the combat it all comes together greatly. I just felt like I was a hopeless disposed vessel that grows to fix what the chosen hollow knight could not achieve alone.
Fallout New Vegas and Skate 3 are games I’ll always hold close to my heart.
I’m a little late to seeing this, but this is a fantastic video idea. Really nice work dude
so cool that Nerd City also loves Bioshock!! The series will forever be my favorite game, and the beautiful art and story inspired me to get a whole sleeve!
videos like these make me happy
This was so fun to watch!
Bioshock guy just starts getting all philosophical.
The burger king games like sneak king and pocketbike racers will always have a special place in my heart
Everyone is just telling sentimental story’s and how video games influenced their life’s. Meanwhile Danny explains why super Monkeyball should be considered the most ambitious FPS ever.
Rightfully so
Game rocks
While wearing makeup
I never really got Super Monkeyball when I had it and didn't understand all the fuss at the time. Now I do.

I really like the "cozy" feel of your videos, they always have a certain warmth to them
Mr. Boppin The slow and relaxing piano in the background definitely helps with that feeling, in this video particularly.
Hygge
Yeah for sure man, it’s always such a welcome surprise when jakey uploads
exactly
I describe it as "sincere" to people when I recommend it. He just pours over all the aspects of this thing he loves, and it's great
