Hello Sonia, You are such a loving person and I can feel the love that you have for the Lord and for the children. You make the most beautiful boxes for the kids. I love to watch your channel and also Christy's channel. You both make such wonderful boxes. We need to remember that this may be the only box they ever receive. We should put nice things in our boxes and you do that. You have a real heart for these children. Let's put items that we would want our own children or grandchildren to receive. These boxes represent Christ and how much He loves the children. We should always remember that when packing our boxes and Sonia your boxes shine God's love. I think your idea with the food saver is genius. It is true that the 10-14yr boxes have to be larger to fit the needs of children in that age group. Oh that’s really sweet what Zoey did. Your boxes are always so well thought out. I know I’ve seen a troll around too. For can openers, try to take a look in the camping section. You should be able to find some nice compact ones there 😉 I prefer getting the larger size clothes too. It’s better to have something they can grow into instead of out of right away. That ring is really pretty! And wow! Vacuum sealing those pads is amazing!

Hi Sonia! When I listen to you chat with us about your boxes what I hear is the Iove you have for the child. You are thinking about the child with every item you pack. How they will like it, how they can use it. And like you said, it is perfectly ok that you enjoy doing it and you want to do your very best in packing these boxes. And, we all know that the child who receives this box will love all the items in it and cherish them for a very long time. You made it so special for the child. BTW, I gave my husband a food saver for Christmas a couple years ago and I think he loves that machine more than he Ioves me - Just Kidding 😏 of course. My favorite things in the box are definitely the Barbies because they came from your sweet granddaughter. Hope you can get the flip flops in 🙂. Oh, and I love the idea of packing a “career” themed box. I have a couple Barbie type dolls that I cannot wait to pack (they are called Ella dolls, but are just like Barbies). Should be here tomorrow. I’ll be playing with it this weekend. I recently came across an article from OCC saying something about the benefits of vacuum sealing. Maybe this would be good for soaps…..no moisture, no humidity! I don’t think I would vacuum everything. Maybe certain things only. OCC is ok with that, it's policy to accept any size shoeboxes. I found it ironic that that person saying it's an ego thing for packing shoeboxes, that she's shaming people of packing for children. There is a book by Gary Chapman called "the 5 love languages". His theory is that people tend to express their love and understand love from others more or better when it's "said" in their own love language. And one of the love languages is giving or making gifts. 😉😘 Oh, and this box is awesome like all your other boxes!

Just LOVE this box!!! Great job Sonia! I have always totes with the idea of Vacuum sealing but am hesitant because I wonder if they will open it at the processing center. Maybe lay it out in the bag so you can see the contents a bit better- but then you sacrifice the privacy this allows. I don’t know the answer, but that was my thoughts. Maybe write on the bag the contents? So they know it’s just pads and undies or whatever is in there? Amazing box though!! I love your videos!
Christine, it’s funny but I also was hesitant about vacuum sealing because what could happen at the PC. Recently, came across an OCC video in which they talked about vacuum sealing. For the life of me, I can’t find the video. Emailed Samaritans Purse/OCC yesterday asking if vacuum sealing is allowed, etc. I know of people that have sent vacuumed items. Thought going to the very “top” would alleviate any misgivings. In the meantime, ordered me a food saver machine. I think it would be just wonderful for some items like menstrual pads. we all pack differently, and what God brings us to do that is how it should be. Weather you pack 5 items or 10, they are still a gift of hope and love. Aw bless your grand daughters little heart! This is how children should feel, instead of being greedy, share and share love. Yes better the clothes be too big than too small! They may set them aside until it is big enough or wear them longer. I found if placing the pads all flat they take up less room. I'm not sure about vacuum sealing bags at the processing center here, since they cant open it, I know they have seen stuffed animals that way. The calculator looks like it folds? so unpacked it shouldn't turn on. What size bags do you use for your erasers? Try packing the flip flops with everything else, maybe they will fit. I usually put them against each side of the box
Sometimes it is amazing just how much can fit in a box. I heard once from another UA-camr about spending a little extra on one wow item like a soccer ball can sometimes be less expensive than buying a lot of little items for a box. I have bought one of those large nerf balls for a boy's box which did take up quite a lot of room in the box. I had to use the trick you used of not packing the pencils in the pencil pack. I didn't buy it with the intention of saving money - I just thought how much fun the boy will have with the football. I had a Captain America figure and thought I'd include another American staple - football. So perhaps those who may be insecure about their own boxes might take that advice - using a desirable large item in the box. I don't think most of the children will be adding up all the items in the boxes to see how much the boxes cost. As long as people think of the children and pack with love then it is a good. I enjoy your videos because I see that you do pack with the children in mind with love in your heart. I like your box very much and your food saver idea for the menstrual pads.
Hi….thank you for watching and taking the time to write so a nice comment. Yes, sometimes spending more on one large item is more cost effective than filing box with many small items. Also, shopping year round for sales has worked well for me. Like finding notebooks for 5 cents….my best find of 2022. I also find it more challenging to find good sales and choices for the older age group. Not to mention, area and state we live in. I find California more expensive than other states. It amazes me how prices differ from state to state. You can’t go wrong with packing a football or a soccer ball for a boy 5-14. What boy could resist such a gift! Your Captain America and a football box will be cherished! By the way, to reconfirm that it is okay to vacuum-seal an item and for it not to be pulled-out at the processing center, I emailed OCC for advice. I will reporting on this as soon as I hear back! Sonia, it is so sad that people have to be negative about giving from your heart to a child. If they only knew you like I do. There is NOTHING boastful about you! Just silly. This is a wonderful box! Love the Barbies! Similiar to the one I got at Target. Love the kitchen background and all the kitchen accessories. The shirt is beautiful! I love those calculators also. Where did you get those? Going to another Walmart tomorrow, will check them out there.

OCC is ok with that, it's policy to accept any size shoeboxes. I found it ironic that that person saying it's an ego thing for packing shoeboxes, that she's shaming people of packing for children. How is that an ego thing?! It's a selfless and loving thing. Thank you, Sonia and keep packing from your heart. Ok, now the box! I love that you included a picture of a professional kitchen inside the lid. Love that you added the chef and server Barbies in an oven mitt! I’m so impressed with little Miss Zoey to have donated 2 dolls for a shoebox ❤️. So glad you were able to include them both. The kitchen ensemble you put together is wonderful and so thoughtful. I would’ve been excited to receive as a gift at that age. No, do not remove the backpack to fit flip-flops!! There’s plenty in this box…lots of fun and useful items for the young lady who receives. There is a book by Gary Chapman called "the 5 love languages". His theory is that people tend to express their love and understand love from others more or better when it's "said" in their own love language. And one of the love languages is giving or making gifts. 😉😘

Just LOVE this box!!! Great job Sonia! I have always totes with the idea of Vacuum sealing but am hesitant because I wonder if they will open it at the processing center. Maybe lay it out in the bag so you can see the contents a bit better- but then you sacrifice the privacy this allows. I don’t know the answer, but that was my thoughts. Maybe write on the bag the contents? So they know it’s just pads and undies or whatever is in there?

Christine, it’s funny but I also was hesitant about vacuum sealing because what could happen at the PC. Recently, came across an OCC video in which they talked about vacuum sealing. For the life of me, I can’t find the video. Emailed Samaritans Purse/OCC yesterday asking if vacuum sealing is allowed, etc. I know of people that have sent vacuumed items. Thought going to the very “top” would alleviate any misgivings.
In the meantime, ordered me a food saver machine. I think it would be just wonderful for some items like menstrual pads. Will report back as soon as I know more. Thanks for watching and being you! 💕💕💕

People were fighting in my defense and it just got worse throughout the day so bad I had to delete my post. That chef doll is soooo cute I love the hat. we all pack differently, and what God brings us to do that is how it should be. Weather you pack 5 items or 10, they are still a gift of hope and love. Aw bless your grand daughters little heart! This is how children should feel, instead of being greedy, share and share love. Yes better the clothes be too big than too small! They may set them aside until it is big enough or wear them longer. I found if placing the pads all flat they take up less room. I'm not sure about vacuum sealing bags at the processing center here, since they cant open it, I know they have seen stuffed animals that way. The calculator looks like it folds? so unpacked it shouldn't turn on. What size bags do you use for your erasers? Try packing the flip flops with everything else, maybe they will fit. I usually put them against each side of the box
Sometimes it is amazing just how much can fit in a box. I heard once from another UA-camr about spending a little extra on one wow item like a soccer ball can sometimes be less expensive than buying a lot of little items for a box. I have bought one of those large nerf balls for a boy's box which did take up quite a lot of room in the box. I had to use the trick you used of not packing the pencils in the pencil pack. I didn't buy it with the intention of saving money - I just thought how much fun the boy will have with the football. I had a Captain America figure and thought I'd include another American staple - football. So perhaps those who may be insecure about their own boxes might take that advice - using a desirable large item in the box. I don't think most of the children will be adding up all the items in the boxes to see how much the boxes cost. As long as people think of the children and pack with love then it is a good. I enjoy your videos because I see that you do pack with the children in mind with love in your heart. I like your box very much and your food saver idea for the menstrual pads.
Hi….thank you for watching and taking the time to write so a nice comment. Yes, sometimes spending more on one large item is more cost effective than filing box with many small items. Also, shopping year round for sales has worked well for me. Like finding notebooks for 5 cents….my best find of 2022.
I also find it more challenging to find good sales and choices for the older age group. Not to mention, area and state we live in. I find California more expensive than other states. It amazes me how prices differ from state to state. You can’t go wrong with packing a football or a soccer ball for a boy 5-14. What boy could resist such a gift! Your Captain America and a football box will be cherished!
By the way, to reconfirm that it is okay to vacuum-seal an item and for it not to be pulled-out at the processing center, I emailed OCC for advice. I will reporting on this as soon as I hear back!

It might be nice to use for a throw blanket, fabric, or menstrual pads. I have been waiting on a sale on menstrual pads before I purchase any.
