This was my first spyro game back in 2001 then bought 1 and 3. I can say my childhood was well spent. I never had a franchise impact me as much as spyro did. It will always be in my heart
I've been wanting to say this for the last 16 years: thank you, you wonderful people for making spyro 1, 2 and 3, the greatest games of all time thus making my childhood! much love xxx
I spent my entire childhood trying to see what was behind that wall in Dragon Shores.I started when I was 7 and I finally completed it at age 15.... and it was just a permanent power up.... I was so disappointed, but I had fun playing it. I still play this game today at 17 and I still Love it!
Holy shit, I remember being a little kid and doing that challenge were you had to save all the cavemen. Some old internal rage just came back. Eventually, I got it, but god damn it was hard.
It's a memorization game, mainly. Your reflexes are kinda secondary. Once you get in the pattern of it and accept you are *not* getting it on the first try, it loses some of its frustration. I've beaten it plenty of times in the past, but I do dread it just a tiny bit whenever I see it.
Everyone who participated in making this masterpiece: Thank you. Thank you so much for creating the game of my childhood. I loved every single bit of it and I still do. Sheer perfection.
Wow, when was this? I always loved the three original Spyro games, and this was my favorite. I have to get them someday again and play them. Oh my god, these were good days...
"Saving the little cavemen from the little lizards is the hardest puzzle. Even the most experienced players need at least 10 to 15 tries" Fisher The Breezebuilder: "Hold My Trolley Eh?!"
Might as well tell you: Getting all orbs gives you permanent superflame in Dragon Shores. There's a door there that requires all orbs and in there the permanent powerup for superflame. There is an unintentional way of bringing superflame into new game meaning you can replay the whole game with that power meaning no more supercharge needed unless we're talking timed challenges. This is how speedrunners play Spyro 2.
I remember Oliver Wade winning $32,000 on Millionaire. He was on Millionaire the episode after David Goodman became the youngest aged person to win the top prize on the U.S version of Millionaire. David Goodman still owns that title today.
I miss this game so much, I grew up with this game as well as Croc: 2. It's a shame that they don't make these types of games en-masse nowadays, it's just more needless violence and it's just disgusting... These games were innocent and anyone could fall in love with them. I miss Spyro.
Yea Spyro 2, and 3 were my favorite.. I just love the environments they have the game was so well put together and now days they have a fighting system :o Insomniac was the best gaming company when it came to Spyro and forever will be!!! I can't stand the new spyro games!!! AT ALL I wish they would still make them like this! They were so much better!
I have a demo disc with demos of PS1 games from 1998-1999 on it and the caveman level of Spyro 2 is in there. Guess they're really proud of that challenge.
That is SO true! I seriously thought about that as soon as I heard them say more challenging. Spyro 2 is my favorite Spyro game of that trilogy, however the first one was by far the most challenging.
Back when i was a kid i always thought spyro 1 was the hardest haha. Out of the original 3 though, 2 and 3 were always my favourite because of the side challenges / missions that they talk about in this video
i belive so. Spyro one was called originaly Spyro The Dragon. and Year Of The Dragon followed in the #2 spot b4 Gateway To Glimmer secured the #3 spot.
And I do agree with your statement about companies only caring about money. (As for Insomniac, I know they aren't making Spyro anymore. I was referring more along the lines of Ratchet and Clank.)
I love the Spyro games my favourite character other than Spyro was Hunter The Cheetah he was so awesome funny when I got Introduced to Bianca thought she would be a bad villain but then she became a hero towards the end of the game but an definitely getting this game for Christmas do not worry Ill start with Year Of The Dragon then Riptos Rage then the original
i actually did a school assignment on the games and it turns out that by the end of the third game insomniac were running out of ideas for the game anyway and thought it would be better to leave it on a high point (which they were going to) but then activision offered heaps so yeah :( they were so great though
I find it a little funny how they're all "Spyro 1 was about collecting stuff, but Spyro 2 is about completion" and then show the result of a task that involves, amazingly, collecting stuff. :P Still a fantastic game, of course.
even though I like tLoS I can agree on everything you said. it really felt like they were trying to make a movie rather then a game. I don't mind a cinematic approach to a game, but they went overboard. >.
I’m 26 years old and it took me a while to warm up to the skylanders redesign of him, it’s still my least favorite of all his designs, I miss the original Spyro. I understand that kids of this generation know him from Skylanders which is fine, I’m not going to trash it. I love cartoons and watched the tv series on Skylanders, it’s alright. I liked the legend of Spyro series, I remember playing those games and Enter the dragonfly and Hero’s Tale. I would really like for the first 3 Spyro games to be remade in hd on the ps4. Crash got his revival and so should Spyro.
I once borrowed this game from a friend but couldnt complete it because there was a glitch and one of the steel boxes was unbreakable when i should have been able to break it with a power up. :(((((((((
"The bosses are big. They're badass- can I say badass? THEY'RE BADASS." haha
even hearing the sound affects makes me so sad. the orbs, flying things, gems, zapping noises, ughh.
i'll never stop loving all of this
+fizzymoth the feeling is mutual.. (The gem sound is my personal favorite)
This was my first spyro game back in 2001 then bought 1 and 3. I can say my childhood was well spent. I never had a franchise impact me as much as spyro did. It will always be in my heart
These guys probably don't know, but i love all of them for making part of my childhood, congrats from brazil
I've been wanting to say this for the last 16 years: thank you, you wonderful people for making spyro 1, 2 and 3, the greatest games of all time thus making my childhood! much love xxx
If you have a PS3 with PSN, You can Download the original Trilogy, for about 5-7 Dollars!
already did it friend, already did it.
Daniel walsh absolutely. These games made our childhood. We wouldn't be sane without them
Same here
Daniel walsh hi
I spent my entire childhood trying to see what was behind that wall in Dragon Shores.I started when I was 7 and I finally completed it at age 15.... and it was just a permanent power up.... I was so disappointed, but I had fun playing it. I still play this game today at 17 and I still Love it!
Yes, i was very dissapointed too
Holy shit, I remember being a little kid and doing that challenge were you had to save all the cavemen. Some old internal rage just came back. Eventually, I got it, but god damn it was hard.
To this day I cannot beat that damned challenged.
It's a memorization game, mainly. Your reflexes are kinda secondary. Once you get in the pattern of it and accept you are *not* getting it on the first try, it loses some of its frustration.
I've beaten it plenty of times in the past, but I do dread it just a tiny bit whenever I see it.
I still have the original copies of the first three spyro games...and I LOVE them.
Anyone else binge watching Spyro videos after the remaster was announced?
I just beat this game (the original) for the first time ever as an adult! It was soooo challenging! But so fun and rewarding
Imsoniac games god bless you
Ghost Insomniac *
thankyou insomniac games for making my and many others childhoods amazing!
I would throw money at people to make these Spyro games HD
If you have a PS3 with PSN, You can Download the original Trilogy, for about 5-7 Dollars!
***** It's not the same. They have to make a remake to make the polygons look smooth and same as for the textures.
There actually _might_ be one in the near future, but that's only speculation as always.
+roamer45
are your sure? cause its now owned by ativision
I don't think we need an HD remaster. Just a port would be amazing.
I would just like to thank the people featured in this video; you made my childhood.
Everyone who participated in making this masterpiece:
Thank you. Thank you so much for creating the game of my childhood. I loved every single bit of it and I still do. Sheer perfection.
A trilogy where you can tell everyone had the exact amount of freedom and fun they required, from the music god to the set designer
Miss my childhood, these were the days! :)
Loved the game, thank you for the upload !
Wish there was a making of Spyro 3 video.
GOD BLESS the people who made this game! INSOMNIAC THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY CHILDHOOD THE BEST!!
The greatest adventure games of all time past and future.
Wow, when was this?
I always loved the three original Spyro games, and this was my favorite.
I have to get them someday again and play them. Oh my god, these were good days...
"Saving the little cavemen from the little lizards is the hardest puzzle. Even the most experienced players need at least 10 to 15 tries"
Fisher The Breezebuilder: "Hold My Trolley Eh?!"
May sound silly, but this is my favorite game on the PS1
Remembered my childhood games!! :') Love this game
God, if they had aired this on TV when I was five or so, I would've just flat out pissed myself with excitement...
Oh god the minigames- they will be the death of me. I swear I've had this game for eight years and I still haven't finished those goddamned minigames!
Might as well tell you: Getting all orbs gives you permanent superflame in Dragon Shores. There's a door there that requires all orbs and in there the permanent powerup for superflame. 4:03 What the hell is wrong with Sparx? That's scary as fuck! xD
probably a textureless animationless test run of sparx in the cutscene
I remember Oliver Wade winning $32,000 on Millionaire. He was on Millionaire the episode after David Goodman became the youngest aged person to win the top prize on the U.S version of Millionaire. David Goodman still owns that title today.

I miss Spyro.
I love how Brian Hastings asks if he can say "badass" but an employee just yells out "OH, FUCK" at 3:08
Thanks UA-cam recommended
Oliver: We wanted someone with a real fiery temper
Me: Oliver has gamer rage
Spyro 1 and 3 are my favourite 3
Spyro 2 more challenging than the first one?!?! What about TREE TOPS!!!?!?!
I used to have this game... Miss those days D:
Yea Spyro 2, and 3 were my favorite.. I just love the environments they have the game was so well put together and now days they have a fighting system :o Insomniac was the best gaming company when it came to Spyro and forever will be!!! Thank you for this great game
When the Caveman spoke a wave of nostalgia came over me.
I have a demo disc with demos of PS1 games from 1998-1999 on it and the caveman level of Spyro 2 is in there. Guess they're really proud of that challenge.
Amazing iconic games!
Lovely memories :)
That is SO true! I seriously thought about that as soon as I heard them say more challenging. Spyro 2 is my favorite Spyro game of that trilogy, however the first one was by far the most challenging.
Those people made one of my favorite childhood games
i had alll the spyros cuz how much i was in love with it
Good creative companies always find the time to have fun to enhance their work
SO GRATEFUL FOR GREAT MEMORIES !
THE NEW SPYRO REIGNITED TRILOGY IS COMING THIS SEPTEMBER
The ice skating is friggin' hilarious.
Back when i was a kid i always thought spyro 1 was the hardest haha. Out of the original 3 though, 2 and 3 were always my favourite because of the side challenges / missions that they talk about in this video
i love spyro 2 probably one of the best
i belive so.
Spyro one was called originaly Spyro The Dragon. and Year Of The Dragon followed in the #2 spot b4 Gateway To Glimmer secured the #3 spot.
I would rather pay to get the license back and make them make Spyro 4
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is out. It's great.
Spyro: The only game with good water levels.
1:19 while is running spyro moves the wings differently! o.o watch closely!
And I do agree with your statement about companies only caring about money.

Insomniac games COME BACK
i miss my childhood
Sony & Playstation used to be so much more friendly, comparing to what they are today in 2022.
omg this brings back memories! who here agres they should make a spyrogame that was just like the old ones but with hd graphics!
To think they would eventually make the best Spiderman game ever made by far
Although I'm more of a Ratchet & Clank fan, I have to say that IG'S Spyro games are almost right up there when it comes to fan.
My favorite game.
See this is why all the games where SO good the game developers played it and saw if THEY liked it or not. And they got into it too....
wow. I didn't no that mark cerny worked on this game. he looks so different now
13 years... 13 years and ive only been able to beat the dionsaur saving cavemen minigame twice
Damn, Insomniac had some cuties working on this game
Great interviews but couldn't they find a better backdrop than some stadium with a scoreboard....?
SPYRO HD PLEASE
***** thanks xD
It worked
:)
@TheDarkDuck93 I think you can buy them on the American PlaystationNetwork.
While I love 3 more, Spyro 2 is absolutely incredible
i actually did a school assignment on the games and it turns out that by the end of the third game insomniac were running out of ideas for the game anyway and thought it would be better to leave it on a high point (which they were going to) but then activision offered heaps so yeah :( they were so great though
@funcooldrew2 Yes buy it! It's such an awesome game. But Spyro 3 is way better.
i love the characters in ths 1
it's interesting, that's the beta version. look at sparx and the wings while spyro is charging.
Is there a Behind-The-Scenes video for Spyro 3 available around here?
lol i was puzzling over the same thing :)
@TheDarkDuck93 the games are available on the playstation store so if you have a ps3 then you can get them on the playstation store
Was there a video for Year of the Dragon?
makes me wish i had a ps3 to get it off the market, i played this game to death when i was growing up, i think i beat it like 10 times.
I find it a little funny how they're all "Spyro 1 was about collecting stuff, but Spyro 2 is about completion" and then show the result of a task that involves, amazingly, collecting stuff. :P
Still a fantastic game, of course.
Back in the days when games weren't made for profit but for fun.
Aw man i remember that! that minigame was hard as heck, but i eventually beat it. 1:13
Loved the bone dance!!! xD
It's always been for money. It's up to the devlopers and artists to have fun with it.
even though I like tLoS I can agree on everything you said. it really felt like they were trying to make a movie rather then a game. I don't mind a cinematic approach to a game, but they went overboard. >.

2:24 trouble with the trolley eh?
memorise :'(
Chuck cracks me the fuck up
lol i love all the slipping
@funcooldrew2 It's a fan - based Spyro & if you want anymore info go onto this channel "Hoixsoft"
Saving the cavemen is the hardest minigame? Bull. Following Agent Zero to his hideout is the hardest minigame.
They're always taking applications
Trouble with the trolley, eh?
I wonder who found the double jump
even they agree with the dinosaur minigame!
I once borrowed this game from a friend but couldnt complete it because there was a glitch and one of the steel boxes was unbreakable when i should have been able to break it with a power up. :(((((((((
@SpyroLUVA Hopefully (in the whole "Spyro" category), our problems are solved. Just look up "Spyro Eclipse" :)
Watching any spyro game after spyro 3
makes my eyes ears and heart bleed
same goes for crash series
Best one of the trilogy
*weakest
