@@DingArto a stance my mom takes that does have a valid point is that cis women have come SO far in sports and STILL don't get as good of treatment as men's sports, so having someone with a man's body composition (bone structure, muscles, etc is all different) it creates an unfair advantage in an environment that was created specifically to avoid the unfairness that creates. a solution could be making an open division in which any gender can participate/place, or having trans people be allowed to compete but not place, or integrating more co-ed options as the new normal. it's definitely a difficult issue to tackle because on the one hand, everyone should have an opportunity to participate, but taking away opportunities from cis women who fought so hard to have their own space where they didnt have to compete with cis men is not the solution. tldr: normalize co-ed sports teams and gender divisions (ex. one for cis men, one for cis women, and an open division for all) in sports!

I'm about to age myself...I was born in the 70's when the LGBTQ community had to hide themselves in everyday life. It makes me so happy to see the community showing themselves and speaking out. What I have realized from conversations with my 11 yro granddaughter is her generation sees nothing wrong or even pays attention to someone's choices in who they choose to love or who they are. It make my heart so happy that kids, who in my day would have suffered in silence out of fear, are accepted and included and loved for who they are without question by a generation who doesn't understand why ppl / kids are picked on for being themselves and are not afraid to stand up for the injustices they see! I am hopeful that these horrible, shaming conversations will be a thing of the past once my generation and the older generations take their small and close minded views with them to the grave. I have never understood why people think it is their business or anyone else's how someone lives their lives. It's crazy...

My siblings are kinda like that too, they were the first people who I came out to and they accepted me for who I was. I was lucky enough to find a wife who is really great and lifts me up and accepts me no matter what, but it def is very hard when people really don't want trans people to even exist. Hate crimes keep rising and it's really sad. I fear for my best friends who are all trans as well every single day. My best friend in kindergarten and early elementary school was a boy with long hair. In kindergarten literally no one cared because young children don’t care or see any issue with these things. But unfortunately as people get older they also learn by society that certain things are “for boys” and others are “for girls”, which got evident by how different he got treated as soon as he started elementary school. He immediately started getting bullied and called a girl and gay and other even worse names by other kids simply because of the length of his hair. During this time after starting elementary school I myself started finding other friends and they unfortunately didn’t like him and I felt like I had to choose between him and them and out of peer pressure I chose them which might have been one of my biggest regrets and mistakes I’ve ever made. He never made any close friends and after a couple years of dealing with the bullying it got too much for him and he moved and changed schools.
After that I didn’t see him again for about 10 years. When I stumbled across him again he had buzzed all his hair off and seemed so quiet and different from his past self. He was just a shell of what he used to be as a kid. I remember him as funny, creative, loud, energetic and extremely imaginative and he seemed to have lost all of that from years of being treated like sh*t for simply expressing himself. I haven’t seen him in a few years now and I don’t know where he’s at in life or what he’s doing, but all I hope is that he’s doing alright and has found the confidence to express himself the way he likes because he deserves nothing less.
There’s definitely a big difference in how society views femininity in men vs masculinity in women and I’ve seen it first hand. I myself was never a girly girl as a kid and I liked to dress in stereotypically boyish clothes and never liked my hair any longer than shoulder length at max. I didn’t act particularly feminine either and liked climbing trees and playing in the mud and I didn’t scream at bugs or other gross things the way the other girls did and was never a big fan of Barbie dolls and princess movies. Despite acting more stereotypically masculine I never got the same level of bullying as my friend did for simply having long hair. He acted pretty masculine, but something as minor as long hair caused him to need to move schools while I didn’t experience any bullying at all for my tomboyish personality in elementary school. That changed when I started middle school, but that’s a different story because middle school is known to be a whole nother level when it comes to bullies.
Moral of the story, I’ve seen the difference in how society treats masculine girls and feminine boys and it f*cking sucks. It shouldn’t be that way and people should be allowed to express themselves freely and treated equally regardless of what their gender is.

As someone who had a friend transition, I had a slightly difficult time with it, not because they were trans, but their pronouns and their name was muscle memory after knowing them for years and I would still accidentally say the wrong things but immediately apologize. Like when you call your partner babe for so long then you break up and accidentally call them babe still. Atleast I have done that. So maybe Mr. Beast just takes his time before saying anything so he doesn't accidentally say the wrong thing out of muscle memory in respect for his long time friend. Correct me if I'm wrong, I hope that's not transphobic.

It's normal. The people who supported me were the same - it was just a slip of the tongue / force of habit. Even my own brain would accidentally default to the old name for a while. It really is hard to just suddenly up and change something that has been so ingrained for so many years - it's not an intentional thing at all, just muscle memory. In that situation you just have to catch yourself when it happens and correct yourself. Over and over til it sticks. It gets easier! With the people in my life they eventually stopped slipping up and now it's been years without a single one.
Trans ppl still accidentally misgender each other all the time so dw too much, we can tell when ppl are trying and really care about respecting us so when a slip up happens it’s like well that sucked but I know they didn’t mean it so fuck it we ball
