Here’s the thing parents, kids seeing inappropriate things is just an inevitable part of life, they’re going to see that kind of stuff no matter what especially in the technologically advanced world that we live in, it isn’t possible to hide these types of thing altogether from them anymore, the best thing you can do for your kid is, when they do see things like that, teach them right from wrong, that’s how you mold them into a better person despite them seeing it, and it is the more rational and reasonable thing to do, I mean tell me, if you and your kid were walking down the street and you walked past these 2 guys who were having a conversation that had some cuss words in it, what do you think would be better for your kid, simply explaining to him/her what these words are and why they shouldn’t be saying it at their age, or walking down the street with your hands constantly covering your kid’s ears every time you walk past people talking? In this day and age it’s much better for us to cope with the fact that kids see/hear some mature things by also teaching them right from wrong than it is to try and shield everything from them altogether

And I understand SML is NOT for kids, but I ask my parents, they say “As long as you don’t IMITATE the the characters, you’re fine” Well, that says it all, I do watch SML, but I don’t go to school, pretending to be JEFFY, and making my teachers question whether I got a concussion. But there are 2 problems with this.
1. Jeffy got hit by a belt. Sure, it is very violent, but he got hit by a belt, not getting molested.

Has no one heard of UA-cam kids? Seriously, if parents have trouble keeping tabs on their kids, at least download that app. Sure, it isn’t perfect, but there are no SML or other similar videos on it. I cannot believe I am the only one who brought this up.

Here's a little fun fact. GMA brought up Common Sense Media and UA-cam ratings. Common Sense Media gave SML one star but gave LOGAN PAUL two stars! Showing a man who committed suicide and electrocuting dead rats, oh that's fine, but swearing puppets, UA-cam needs to remove this immediately!

@Olivia 757 The suicide video of politician Budd Dwyer is still on UA-cam, along with the audio of Christine Chubbuck's suicide. Videos of dead bodies are on UA-cam as well, I saw one of an old woman who was legitimately decomposed, and barely recognizable.

Elevitix As much as I hate to say it, Jeffy videos get more views. With the amount of kids who watch those videos it would be hard for Logan to axe him. The only way I think they'll get rid of Jeffy is the movie but who knows.

My opinion has changed about jeffy a bit
However I still think parents need to take responsibility for their own kids and not blame the creators for their kids actions if a creator did not tell their kid to do said action

3 years later I actually found out what they were talking about and it was an SML YTP. And I have no clue how someone could mistake it for a real sml video it was just a mess. But they used stuff from Jeffy’s Bad Word so I guess that makes sense

I legit put parent controls on my computer and television set when I was between the ages of 10 to 14 because I felt really left out that my parents did not. I didn't want to watch inappropriate content and I did not until I was 17. I did not listen to any music with curse words in it until I was 18. IT WAS MY CHOICE and I don't really regret. #growingupchristian
My point is most kids are smart enough to avoid content deemed inappropriate. Some kids like my cousins were fully aware that the things they watched weren't child-friendly and they didn't care because they enjoyed the content. Other kids like a few of the kids I work with are beyond too dumb or too naive to make those type of decisions. Know the difference Good Morning America because putting all kids in the "too dumb or too naive" category really offends the kids that do know better.

I still think UA-cam is doing the best it can to watch neglected kids that they don't even know the looks of.
I feel like the entire point of the "don't have the capacity to close youtube" was more on the psychological effect not the intellectual effect.
The point was a kid is too young to monitor them self. They lack the maturity to understand what is inappropriate, how dangerous "dangerous" really is, how easily they can become obsessed.
That's why a parent needs to be responsible. It's natural for kids to have wants they can't have. Adults have such desires too, however a kid needs to learn how to control them from thier supervisor on how to control them selves and what they can't have, even if they pout.
You misunderstood their point, however it ends up backing another of your points, so it's fine.

The main problem with sml is that he uses little children's characters like Mario, bowser jr and woody. If he used obscure or made up characters(Jeffy and Brooklyn guy) instead of Mario or black yoshi the parents wouldn't mistake Logan's videos for little kids content. I do agree with the parents actually just watching the videos when their kids watch UA-cam. Logan also needs to make his thumb nails less flashy because the thumb nails look like a little kids show.

Yes, I'm 13, I watch a lot of SML, but I have been watching for a while now, before the it became popular with kids. I also don't imitate this stuff or say these bad words.
I used to watch SML all the time a few years back and I never said any bad words. I knew if I did, my dad would give me a beating. I don’t like to watch SML that much nowadays because I hate the fanbase since there’s so many kids watching the channel and Jeffy isn’t funny, he’s just super annoying

You know what's crazy is that there are even adults who watch SML. Because, who knows... Maybe they're lifelong Mario fans and it's like a Mario South Park for them. I'd say, it doesn't seem like GMA had all of their facts straight. Like for instance, I'm 27 and I love watching SML because the episodes tend to make me smile, even if I had a shitty day.
