These aren’t grassroots riots on campuses. I know because I witnessed what happened on the UMC Campus back in 2016/7. Students told me that they were confused about the claims about racism because they never witnessed racism or experienced it. They said they were angry about the riots because they just wanted to get their degree and move on. I heard a teacher say in a faculty meeting that “we have to tell these kids how to think.” One student who was involved told me that meetings were being held in the Sociology department in the evenings. This is a repeat of history and should be taken very seriously.
