tbh, nothing has changed (especially within the AAA industry) these past 15 years.
Same names hover on the headlines as back in 2008. Just the sequel / version numbers change a bit.
Skyrim and Dishonored are still have high replayable value
@@GugureSux Things definitely changes. For the better or not? Arguable. But thing changes. From rendering techniques, gameplay mechanic, narrative progression, VR, new genre, new GPU capability, business practice, etc. Whether from indie or AAA.
But anyway I was just poking fun at our automaton. Usually we split the year for PC hardware in multiple of 5 years. So within 5 years it is modern (games too), within 10 years it is last gen, etc.

Most graphics cards released relatively recently work fantastically for most applications, it just happens to be that streaming is not one of those cases😅

I'm still using my 1080ti, lol, that thing was a beast back in the day, and being able to use it for 1440p today is mindblowing.

I was playing on a 760 until I got my new PC 5 years ago. Still running with my 2070 rn, and it's doing everything I ask of it so far.
Then again, running Live2D and OBS at the same time will put extra strain on your performance.
I have a 1070 8gb and its still doing a darn good job playing everything with decent settings at 1080p.
got 1080 and yeah, it's now got a few years on it. and stil going strong, supose that when you have to stream with the vtuber application also it can be quite taxing..

Been doing swell at 1200p (16:10), decently high settings and 60fps.
But I know that the tech channels and 320hz elitist don't accept such puny numbers.
1440p is where most people game, and stream, and GTX1080s were still beating RTX3000 series cards in most games cause Ray Tracing is a gimmick. Most games are optimised for GTX1080 because supply shortages too and console limits too which is odd.

You have to understand where all this is coming from 1080 graphics card is fine
However when streaming it takes more power then add to using a vtuber model even with running another program to relief stress still adds to it
So yeah basically good graphics card but not meant for modern use like how she is using it.
I saw some others mention that she's using a 2 pc setup, if she does then it's a non issue since it doesn't matter. Also regarding running vtuber model, all Holomem use a separate phone for that so it hardly takes any resources.
Evidently she's not struggling at all with streaming so it's not an urgent need. Would be nice to upgrade but it's not a must.

It’s fine, once the superchats get opened up and she gets her first cheque from UA-cam and Cover, she’ll probably buy a new beef pc to carry her for the next few years in holo. I’m sure her current PC can manage till then! xD
The fact that CC made her debut with such an outdated card is pretty impressive. Meanwhile Raora was panicking due to some lag and bought a 4090 because of it lmao
I'm pretty sure CC mentioned that she actually streams with a 2 PC setup... which takes a ton of stress off of the PC that is running the game.

1080ti is more than enough for Dishonored. The issue is, she's also recording video (who knows if it's via GPU or CPU encoding), and driving her 2D model.
I use a 1080ti for my VR gaming rig. I have a VIVE and it's not bad. I basically used old spare parts so i can have a PC in my living room for VR stuff. I imagine it can get rough for streaming and rendering vturber models at the same time, though.
In her defense i have a 1080 in my pc and ive still been able to run every game just fine. Even high requirement games like tekken 8 and elden ring have worked

I bought a 1080 TI the year it came out and didn't upgrade until this year. It was perfectly fine the entire time I had it. With the way computer gaming has become, I never wanted to play any of the games that would have forced me to upgrade because they just didn't seem interesting to me. Sekiro, CS2, and Dota 2 all ran well enough for me to enjoy over the years.
The 1080ti is in fact a great card that has held up well, but it's just too much fun watching her be defensive about it to stop teasing her.
as someone who also uses a 1080, i gotta stand by the robot in this issue
1080ti is still an amazing card for most people. Later down the line she can think about upgrading her whole system since you wouldn't want to just throw a top end current gpu in a ten year old system. If she's does well, maybe she'll be able to get a sponsored PC like some of the others.

I mean that already shows that she knows how to work with a PC, I see way too many streamers blame their hardware for lags when they actually use super modern and expensive hardware already and they (the user) are the reason their performance sucks.
It's kinda funny that people are dunking on her video card and then show Minecraft when Minecraft doesn't really care that much about GPU. Minecraft's performance is significantly more impacted by your CPU than anything else.
It WAS a good graphics card, but imo, if you're going to stream, you should have a 30 series or better. Maybe what was it, 2080 Ti or 2090 Ti if that's an option? Also, I think technically a 3050 exists but those are garbage? The top 20 series is better? So 3060 or better.
Not sure what the AMD equivalent is, but last I checked it was $500-$1000 cheaper to go all AMD instead of Intel/Nvidia, but on average they'd last 10-12 years as opposed to Intel/Nvidia's 12-15? Probably still worth it because you're unlikely to use them until the burn out before you upgrade, anyway. So you could basically save enough over the course of 3 AMD PCs to buy a 4th for free. Even an Intel/Nvidia one lol. (Although the $1,500 low-end there is going to get you a kinda crap Intel PC lol)
