ETF andMutual Funds(MF) are investment vehicles that pool money from investors to buy an assets.
MFs are investment programs funded by shareholders, trade in diversified holdings and managed by professionals manager. It has to be buy or sell at the end of trading day. NAV is calculated after market closed.
ETFs are mutual funds in that hold a diversified of assets. But it is trade as stocks exchange similar to individual stock. Mostly all are passive funds. It tracks stocks price. It can be buy or sell any time in trading day at market price. The good thing is, expensive ratio is low.
Types of mutual funds:
By structure - open ended & close Ended.
By Investing Objective
Equity - Large, Mid, Small, Multi cap
Debt - Gilt, Bond(Long/Short)
Money Market - Ultra short, Liquid
Gold - gold with underlying ETF
