- I accidentally deleted my original upload of this music - errr, so here is the re-upload…
The following few songs I put together are a short set that was popular at a nightclub called The Edge located in Downtown Orlando Florida in the early 1990’s. The Edge was just one of the clubs that put the Orlando club scene on the map.
Song / Artist
1. Bombscare/ 2 Bad Mice

2. Take Me Away (XTC Come Hard Mix) / Mix Factory
itunes.apple.c...
3. Don't Go (Kicks Like a Mule Mix) (feat. Julie McDermott) / Awesome 3
itunes.apple.c...
4. Walking In Memphis (Rave Mix) / Memphis Rave Mafia
Sorry about the rough recording of Walking In Memphis. This was the best version I could find at the time I put this together. Also, this song is not available on iTunes.
A little background on the Orlando club scene of the 90’s.
• Remarkable - The Story...
...and there was 91.5 WPRK Rollins Radio...
WPRK 91.5 FM is a non-commercial college radio station that is owned and operated by Rollins College. WPRK used to play some great music back in the day.
Here is WPRKs current lineup: wprk.org/show-s... Obviously, the lineups have changed, but that’s college radio.
Technobabble, eating pizza at Barbarella, sneaking into the edge for kicks, Firestone, white doves and smurfs, man I miss those days.
Omg white doves. Say no more. Always when Sasha & Digweed were close by. Nothing in the world compares, right? It’s so weird because it’s true, right?
no lie there them doves were ridiculous
Love the doves
Yessssssss! 🕊️🕊️🕊️
@@PatriceKeck-y5mexactly!!! 🎉🎉🎉
When The Edge became 8 Seconds, a bull riding country bar, it was a shock to say the least.
I suddenly smell Vicks vapor inhaler. Woot!
🤤🙌🕺🏼
glow sticks
"don't burn it man, just roast it!"
really it's awesome, let me blow it in your eye!
Clove Cigs
Great memories at the Edge in Orlando 92'-93'. Great music, lights and people.
Hi, you know me!
Edge in Ft Lauderdale
Bang that drum🥁
What about the abyss
Was there raving till 6 am great times.
Listening to this on the eve of my 45th birthday, absolutely loving it! Thanks for the upload!❤
Time flew I'm older than you😂😂😂we had so much fun❤
Orlando had a GREAT 7 year run, give or take a few years , and it will never ever come back. I thought they would last forever. I miss the clubs, music, people, DJS, eating pizza at 3am on Orange Ave.
It was awesome, until 97 when they passed the 3am closing-anti rave curfew
@@KCNYC Yeah, Thanks Glenda Hood
@@apquickallday I think dirty politics had a lot to do with this, Disney were heavily pushing the ban, perhaps to increase crowds at Pleasure Island
@@KCNYC Plus a lot of overdoses .
@@apquickallday I worked in the Orlando club scene from 95-97, I never saw anyone OD, I’m sure there were some, but people knew how to handle themselves and the drugs weren’t tainted like today. How many car accidents are caused by drunk drivers?
93-95 were great memories at the Edge!
chill out room
you know me!
Take me a Take me a Awaaaayy 🎶🎶
Oh my.....this brought back great memories! 92-94 good times.
OMFG 🤩😍🙌🏻 how I miss these days
Ultraviolet (UV) Barbara-Smell-Ya
Cyberzone
Ahhh 91.5 Back in the days of recording the Radio onto a cassette tape
I have one tape left from 91.5, I need to digitize and upload it! It’s awesome
The Edge was the best! DJ Icey for Sunday School!
Remember the Vicks room anyone?
90s Orlando raver here!!
Best times there!!! Especially at Elevation 2 ..when filming techno babble..I danced outside in the hanger behind the screens for chemical brothers... never ever forget that...night of my life!!!!!💯♥️😉
Elevation 2 was a great time. Chocolate chip wafers. I don't even want to know what was in those LOL
Yeah I was there, dancing in the same hanger. I remember Baby Anne coming on right at sunrise and some beautiful girl grabbing me and kissing me. Have no idea who she was but we shared a truly special moment that morning.
I went back to Orlando in 97 for my brother's wedding, and went to MY DENNY's in Altamonte and had 40 people show up. I'm gunna cry. It was AWESOME.
Buried Axblade Ha! That’s my Denny’s too 😆 That was the after party munchies spot for sure. Great memories ❤️
Best years of my life in that club.......
Lived in Orlando from 91-94 what a time to be there!!!
I was either here at The Edge or Resurections/JJ Wispers about 1-3 times a week in 92-93
SAME! Spent a lot of time at jj’s as well. I bet you 2 million dollars we were at one or the other at exact same time.
I worked at the Cheyanne Salloon down on Church Street. We'd get off work and head straight to dancin, in our cowboy boots and cowboy hats. The Euro and Brazilian girls on vaca LOVED us. I loved them right back. Man what a great time in FLorida.
The world needs to know and understand how important and defining the club scene music scene audio/visual scene in Florida was back in them days !!!
Smell of clove!!
...............WOW.......can we go back there???????*
I was one of the hottest DJs in Orlando at that time! I spun at Deccos, The Frat House, JJ Whispers, The Edge, I actually turned down a gig at Pleasure Island because of all the politics.
If you were a frequent visitor of Deccos downtown Orlando...
You would remember Shaquille O'Neal hanging out in the DJ booth with me on the nights I spun. Actually there were several Orlando Magic players that would hang out. Talk about some wonderful memories!!! Lots of great times hanging out with 2 Live Crew Turbo from the group snap and Robert Downey jr. Just to name a few!!!
That’s not early 90‘s that’s late 90‘s and early 2000‘s
Aaahhzz. Was the shit. That was my church!
Man the edge brings back some great memories
I was usually at Ultraviolet but def hit the edge now and then! Brings back good vibes
Only true clubbers knew about UV.
Owner became a tow truck driver and got shot and killed on the job.
@@getrightorgetleft6863 that’s crazy I had so many amazing nights at that place! Then road the Lynx bus back to Kissimmee in the morning!
I was there. What a great little grimy club. I remember hanging out by that back entrance area and these two older guys show up (obviously undercover). The bouncer asked them for their membership cards. haha. Didn't let them in because they weren't "members".
@@drewfinnie that’s hilarious. Just thinking about that place takes me back to an amazing time and place. God we had fun
Standing next to fence while tripping on acid and watching the train go by.
If you didn’t live it you missed out!
BRUCE WILLCOX-DRU-DJ STRYKE...Props to my DADE-BROWARD OLD SCHOOL, HARD CORE RAVE CULTURE. EDDY BARRIO9, my brother. RIP..... BLONDIE, AKA :SHOK..... you are missed but never forgitten. What up Fountian Blue????
OMG...Fuckin time machine!!!!! Spent many, many, many, many weekends there!
What about Aahz?
turned into Zuma beach
@@markakitchen dear Lord...many nights with my eyes rolling to the back of my head at ultra violet.
AAHZ was another kind of awesome. I need to dig up some music from there and post sometime.
oops just noticed the playlist was already up in description of vid! If anyone wants mixes from those days hit me up. Been a DJ since 1994 I've played with some of o-towns greatest... Stylus, Chris Fortier, D-Extreme (RIP), Dave Cannalte, Icee, Sandy, Andy Hughes a bunch of those guys and girls. Here's a my own playlist of Edge Classics from The Edge Fort Lauderdale ua-cam.com/play/PLZPwUV0sY5PDlyhu6cpvxsHR5iU6wTtRD.html
If you remember then you weren't fully participating
I loved every second of my life and always will. Anyone have any pictures from this period before Orlando enforced the 2am curfew?
Barbarella was my Monday nights, wing shack wed nights, Firestone’s Thursday, edge Friday. Firestone or edge Saturday night and then Ahhzz afterhours Saturday night/Sunday mornings. I think that how it went lol.
Thank you. Great times.
My brother in law was the head of security at the edge in ft.lauderdale during these years
The Edge vs The Firestone! hahahhahha
oh man, I thought you were gonna have video from there. I got filmed dancing for a gal there. I've been trying to find that video FOREVER. I was the guy in line with the beers in my backpack, drinking beer from my Doritoes bag of chips and selling a beer for a buck, but you had to drink it from the Doritoes bag. Or maybe you know me as the guy that'd get 6 people in for 25$? "I'll be your b-boy inside"
Firestone was fricking awesome. But the Edge was legendary!!!
SUNDAY SCHOOL
@@sarabeth9877 no way, sunday school was in that tiny place. So we've met.
The Edge for sure!!!
I worked @ ORMC, in the 90's..the club's, were great aerobics!!!! The music, fast paced and uplifting....
I visited Edge Orlando once during the hey day I kind of lost my mind at our edge in south florida so I get it
XL106.7 brought me here ... 30 years ago 😳😢 When did we become "ADULTS"? ...and how do we make it STOP?! 😭 I guess growing old is mandatory, but growing up should be optional. Thanks for the upload, man. Good times - Great memories. 💗
So happy I got the sudden notion to look for a surprise footage of the Beastie Boys, Cypress Hill, & Henry Rollins. Instead, I am currently listening to Mix Factory and those Aaaamazing vocals. I can honestly feel it all over again. Even the smell of surf wax bringing it to Orange Ave. We were all so so lucky. I know I was for sure. 🫶🏻☮️ #floridabreaks #theedge #breakbeat #housemusic #RAVE #ravelives ✨☮️🫶🏻
I showed up to live in orlando in 2000 ...Still was a good scene then but more so in the late 90's wow good times...so happy i got a taste of this scene 😋 ❤❤
Thank you for sharing!
RIP Dj Bruce Wilcox
No wayyyyy….love, love, love! 💕
Mmm I love that meow.

Can we travel back in time and experience all this again?
Yes!! Nothing like those times!!!!✌🏽💖🏯
HOME
Send. Me. Back ! Good times !
Thank you! This is great and brings back the best memories! Glad I got to experience it!
You’re welcome. It was an amazing club to experience. Definitely part of era that put O-Town on the International club map because of so many great DJs.
Whoa
Simon's G'ville 1992 checking it. Brings back some memories.
I was like 13 when this was all ppl talked about. I use to think everyone just used it as some cool kid status symbol. Button guess it was legendary
I went to the edge from the day it opened to the day it closed lots of good times I had there
2 words: 🐬
Wish I could could still get those magic beans :)
OMG! 😢. I miss these nights!
Spent many a nights there
