Neat Idea! It would be even better if they added a feature the mower could operate autonomously via GPS like the Mammotion mower. Then once you initially cut an area, the mower could maintain it on its own.
Looks like a miniature tank crushing through a forest. I can see where the professional land maintenance companies would be very interested to include this in their arsenal. Thank you. And congratulations, you received some much needed help on your back property. Very impressive results.
Problem with the Ventrac is that it's massively wide. If you are mowing wide open areas but for smaller spaces, forget it. It's also great this can go in the back of a truck with no trailer. Plus the Ventrac with all it's gizmos maxes out at 30 degrees, this is 45.
Great machine. My Covid project was to take a Toro walk behind and make it into a RC controlled mower. I used a pair of used wheel chair motors, RC controller for RC planes, and such. My no weld build was about $500-600 plus the mower. I use it on a steep slope where I can not take my zero turn mower. Although it works great, tracks would have made it better.
@@jamesiversen I did a thing, on UA-cam did pretty much the exact same thing online consumer said a few months ago and I have seen a few other channels do the similar things
I'm glad you're taking advantage of these types of offers to showcase unusual products. I once saw a similar machine trimming the slopes of a highway, the operator was standing on a nearby overpass.
A very reasonable price for the capability and durability. I can see many commercial applications that would make this a solid investment for a construction company, commercial landscaper, etc.
I have a pond and the area around it has been neglected for years due to the slope and unsafe to run my mower. I was thrilled to see this until I heard it costs $32k…
This "Tank Mower" also needs a 360° Camera with a View Screen on the Controller so that the operator does not have to be in the feild. And the capability of using the Controller after 4 times using the same cutting pattern, a "SELF LEARN/OPERATE" feature (probably another $5-7K more) would be irriplacable!
You should make a pond video where you add a solar panel and pump and have a fountain for water flow in the pond. Then you could add fish and it would help clear it up.
This was so cool! One of the many reasons why your channel is so enjoyable. I always see products that I never knew even existed! And of course, I want one of these! LOL
Price of that mower is cheap compared to the loss of a life. Our county gov't lost a fairly young employee to a lawn mower accident on a grade. I think these ought to be nearly mandatory for county and state use. No doubt they make larger ones. Thanks for the video, quite enjoyable.
My friend’s dad works public works and had a heart attack when they made him mow an area he wasnt supposed to near a road. Absolutely worth the investment.
One day everyone will have an autonomous grass robot mower. It will cut the grass like your indoor carpet robot vacuum cleaner. It will be the new wash machine.
What would a guy like this charge for a cut like this? It took him an hour? Did he make out pretty good? What would be a fair price for a job cutting this type of landscape like the one you had be typically?
Wow. Until there is a "no invisible wire" robot lawnmower it would be great to have a scaled-down, all electric version of this mower with a joystick controller.
Yeah SC that is one awesome mowing machine! The blades look like the MegMow blades I have seen reviewed on YT. Thanks for sharing another cool mower! tww
You might be interested in a Ventrac for that property. They can handle up to a 30 degree slope and has multiple mower attachments for the different situations on the property.
If you are just mowing Ventrac is ok but for real hobby farm/site management work, no one uses them. Problem is the limited lift ability. But if I was a commercial landscaper mowing big areas it would be a good choice. I also like that 3 point attachments can fit multiple machines but Ventracs only fit theirs.
Another thing not really thought off. Where I iive if you let the grass get over six inches in length you really have to start being worried about yellowjackets and other ground wasps. Disturbing a nest can be quite a hazard, even more so if you're allergic to bee/wasp/hornet stings. So being able to remote from a distance can be a life saver. Same for enclosures that house dangerous animals where getting them into confinement is difficult.
I'm almost certain I saw a road crew using the same mower on a steep bank, last week. It was crazy to see, then I saw this video today that explained it, thank you
Nice video! That guy had me holding my breath as he unloaded the machine on those bent up ramps. The one ramp looks like it has already collapsed a few times.
It's a wireless remote-controlled mini brush hog. I see a lot on the highways the construction crews have remote machines for areas too tight for a manned machine.
That pond looks like a great location to bring back native grassland species and trees with rock trails and *maybe* patches of turf lawns for clearings/hangout areas
Wow track mow is unreal a total game changer . I have seen something like that being used on the side of the freeway may have been made by Ditch Witch.
@@SilverCymbal You could mod em to have extra features, such as a robotic arm that can paint walls, or having a weed eater trimmer for the robotic spinning hand. My concern was the crabwalking method of steering that seems to rip up the ground real easily, and the lifespan of the tracks because they keep trying to moonwalk. Theres a couple acres of yard here that would be more fun to cut with a rc mower. I would add a 360 viewing camera and connect it to the Nreal AR/VR glasses I just ordered, then see easily around buildings without following it around the landscape. The addons can be super cheap, even add extra layers of safety redundency with 2 dollar proximity sensors and a 3 dollar arduino. Kick plates that activate limit switches are also another worthy safety shut off mod option. A car body of a kids electric car could be retrofitted or a rc mower platform designed to match it with 4 wheels, for the full RC car effect while getting yardwork done as an excuse for using it.

That thing was great.

Cool machine. 32K...ouch.
Looks like something you can clear a minefield with.
Couple this with a long-rang RC and a camera feed and you could mow from your desk or living room easy chair.
wow that would be great for mowing my lawn just to annoy the neighbors but a bit pricy i need a cheap mini version LOL
wow
that is it no more vid of it 🙁

You need to fish that pond.
Agreed, I know there are frogs in there, but supposedly fish too. Now I can finally get down there.
Does it say gabbagoo?
I really dont need it, but i want it !
They have to work on that price. It is a really cool machine though.
One of the most cost-efficient remote control slope mowers available. Many of our competitors are twice the price.
Very nice!

Much appreciated, yes I know a lot of commercial guys that could make great money with this one for specific jobs that bigger units can't get in.
Love the video
That is just incredible. What a cool tool.

Place some FPV equipment on it and you can mow everything from the shade too.

GPS guided system is in development right now!
@@TracMow I am very exixtied to see that good luck
It really surprises me no one has done this yet. I think about how well DJI does it with drones, and surely someone can do it with lawn mowers.
This would be more interesting if it was setup like a Roomba, except using GPS for a detailed area. Just let it loose and after a few hours, voila'.
That's an impressive machine! I would gladly pay someone to run it around my property a couple times a year. I see a pond video in your future

Where can you buy this?

Aww man fun times! Love projects like this
Great video, Municipal that have a lot of slopes.
Epic
Cool machine! Did a great job on your land.
Curious, how much did he charge for that $$$ ?
The mow was free so I could see the mower in action. He rents this machine for $400 for a day.
I thought it would be expensive but not that expensive OMG it’s still very impressive
Little guy kicked tail...
That tank is awesome!!!
Do they sell a seat for it?

We have the same mower blades on a 1984 bush hog. It's real high tech.
You should make a pond video where you add a solar panel and pump and have a fountain for water flow in the pond. Then you could add fish and it would help clear it up.
I am hoping to do something like that, it would be cool to get the water moving a little

Too much but to avoid ticks ! Maybe a rental ?
Many dealers rent these, they are $400-$600 per day.

The shocking thing about this is, that it isn't autonimious.
