Im with Robert, that moment when you realized that you cant bring back Aerith to life is painful all the great time Cloud and her shared is no longer there.
The "Aerith vs Aeris" thing is something not even a lot of Final Fantasy fans know about. The fact Robert Pattinson knows about that means that he's been constantly up to date with FF7 throughout the years. When the original FF7 was released, "Aeris" was her name. It wasn't until Kingdom Hearts that they changed it to "Aerith".
Her name was always Aerith. Aeris was just the name in the English PS1 release. The bad localization of FF1 prompted Square to do future localizations in-house, which is why all future versions say Aerith.
@Station9.75 can i ask a question? Does your type of men purposely pretend they don't understand sarcasm/silly jokes or do they really take everything women say REALLY serious on the most random trivial conversations? It's a genuine question btw
I never really cared for this actor, but I really appreciate him now. He doesn't just talk about FFVII, but does it with passion and knowledge beyond just entry level introduction to the series. During his explanation when he mentioned the difference between Aeris and Aerith, you just know, man. It's such a shame that despite gaming being such a huge mainstream fucking thing (the budgets for triple A games are in the same ballpark and sometimes higher than blockbuster movies) it's still looked down upon as something embarrassing or weird, at least in the bubble of normalfags within larger celeb culture. For example, it should be a crime that anyone doesn't know what FFVII is to begin with, but it's pretty expected when considering this specific bubble to begin with. And it's so hard to really come out and state some normal opinions like being a fan of such a huge franchise, without sounding like it's some sort of weird hobby you get up to in your spare time. If this cultural change was different, you'd see more celebs being upfront about their interests, and a clip like this video wouldn't be something too special at all. Such a fucking shame
@@syts77because he share the same interest as me, which humanize him and makes him more personable. Before, I just thought he was another one of those Hollywood weirdos. I don't need another psychoanalyst to tell me that.
To be fair. After Roberts explanation, it doesn't really sound like a good story. But still it triggers me. "This is the problem with the world!" If she knew, she'd WISH she could ever play a character as well written as Tifa or Aerith/Aeris.
It's not how well written they are, doesn't matter. She's the kind of people who wouldn't try videogames because they are childish, sexist, wrong, etc. There's a lot of people like that, closed minded to new ideas and experiences, videogames are just another media like Music and Movies, a well done videogame is art.
She prefaced THEIR conversation by saying she's not judging. Listening confused and trying to be apart so he explains it but when he talks about 2 girls (one in a short skirt) and you don't know who to pic, you can see VISIBLE disgust on her face before she proceeds to say "this is what's wrong with the world" yeah he's really reading into because OBVIOUSLY she loves games SOOO much. No you can see from her face before he made her part of the conversation that she was judging how excited they were about a game. Because UP UNTIL RECENTLY (and even still to this day" females think games, anime, collecting, basically anything you're doing without them is childish and sexist. I've LITERALLY heard females say they will stay on the phone for hours or they still do dress up basically but a guy having fun on a game is childish. Females now days have ALSO said that they love shxt testing men, starting arguments, and they hate to see men happy 2 videos today showed girls getting the "ick" over guys bowling or walking slow over rocks to make sure you don't trip. Female logic is stupid and even my sisters say this so stop trying to say he's reaching just because YOU don't agree.

I'm 37 now, basically Pattinson's age. When I was in High School I rarely talked openly about my video game hobby. It was known as a loser hobby and frowned upon by a lot of girls. Now it's more mainstream and accepted. It seems his costar is still stuck in that old mindset of games being for nerds.
The crazy thing is that even in the original the truth was that Aerith/ris was the BOLD one while Tifa was the SHY one. Cloud’s memories section was the highlight of FF7 relationships!

Robert Pattinson is a great actor. Twilight memes just overshadowed his newer acting career. His version of Batman was awesome and his acting in Lighthouse was phenomenal. Also his voice acting in The Boy and the Heron was insane, legit thought it was William Da Foe voicing the Heron but it was actually Robert's voice.

I know everyone is appreciative of the guys sharing a binding moment here, but i cant get over how annoying that lady was. The MOMENT she heard it was a video game she tuned them out. She didn’t shoot anyone 😭
I'm glad someone else picked on that too lol.
I can't believe he literally explained my feelings
She didn’t pass the vibe check :(
I've finally found the courage to let go of the hatred and welcome him to our council of cultured men.

It’s always been Aerith, it was just a bad localization for the Anglophone world. But, yes, even all these years later, Aerith is still jarring to me.
Her name was always Aerith. Aeris was just the name in the English PS1 release. The bad localization of FF1 prompted Square to do future localizations in-house, which is why all future versions say Aerith.
If you've spent any time on the internet since 1997 and read anything about FF7 you'd know it
Pattinson just earned the trust of gamers, probably the most powerful weapon on the internet. Wield it wisely, Robert.
"poor women" why women break every sweet moments
They need to make everything about themselves. Always me me me me me me me me.
I wish he’d gone on to immediately say Tifa’s this hand-to-hand combat expert. That would’ve instantly shut down her bitching.
women ☕
@Edge9404 tifa and aerith are women so it is indeed abt women
@Station9.75 can i ask a question? Does your type of men purposely pretend they don't understand sarcasm/silly jokes or do they really take everything women say REALLY serious on the most random trivial conversations? It's a genuine question btw
Wow Robert Patinson plays final fantasy
Zoe literally can't believe the conversation that's happening next to her. 🤣🤣🤣
"Im standing back and allowing you..."
Then tell that to your face and expression girl... Lol
That's the unfortunate thing, though. Celebrities are not allowed to be actual people, human beings, but commodities, brands, and products.
You appreciate someone just because they are sharing your nerdiness? You should read some Freud.
@@syts77because he share the same interest as me, which humanize him and makes him more personable. Before, I just thought he was another one of those Hollywood weirdos. I don't need another psychoanalyst to tell me that.
AAA games are also consistently shite.
Go watch The Lighthouse or Good Time. Pattinson's become legitimately one of the finest actors there is
To be fair. After Roberts explanation, it doesn't really sound like a good story.
But still it triggers me. "This is the problem with the world!" If she knew, she'd WISH she could ever play a character as well written as Tifa or Aerith/Aeris.
She has. They're not that well written. Watch a good movie, games dont compete, at least ff7 doesnt
It's not how well written they are, doesn't matter. She's the kind of people who wouldn't try videogames because they are childish, sexist, wrong, etc. There's a lot of people like that, closed minded to new ideas and experiences, videogames are just another media like Music and Movies, a well done videogame is art.
@@jfmg64 certainly reading into a lot there buddy .
@@SpecialAgentDaleCooper-FBINah, it's written on her face
This is the funniest vid I’ve ever seen. I can’t stop rewatching it.

Robert Pattison and Henry Cavil, the saviours of nerd community. 😂
I confess that I was never a fan of Robert Pattinson, but now seeing that he is on the team with Henry Cavill, my respect for him is 300%
Respect earned by robert. That woman next to him couldn't be more annoying. It's just a game not a statement.
She's just joking man. chill
Miguel, you looked exactly as I thought you would from your comment 😂
Have none of you ever talked to a normal girl in your life? Have you never given a girl shit about one of her interests (twilight maybe?) just to be funny and not serious about it.
You guys are so easily triggered it’s insane . She’s just taking the piss out of him

She is such a vibe-killer. Omg, it's a video game that is dear to your co-star and interviewer. Show some damn empathy....
I think people not watching the entire interview lose a lot of context. She is very much joking and the two actors are friends, so they constantly tease each other. And in all fairness, the way he describes the game is extremely sketchy 😂
@@Retroroboboy he did like any average Joe would, people on the internet have this fixation that every living person has to talk about things perfectly and with flawless context but can't even fathom to do those thing themselves
@@Retroroboboy well he did explain Tifa and Aerith like how u would explain to someone who doesnt know a thing about FF7. Maybe if he was talking to a real gamer he would've gone more on explaining it with more depth, plus with the way he still call Aerith 'Aeris' he probably played it very long time ago but the fact he know that 'Aeris' is a mistranslation goes to show that he really is an FF7 fan. I hope he's playing the Remake so we can see more of FF7 fanboying on his next Batman 2 promotion.
Geez, you don't get out much, do you? She's obviously joking with them.
She is just insufferable
The crazy thing is that even in the original the truth was that Aerith/ris was the BOLD one while Tifa was the SHY one.
Cloud’s memories section was the highlight of FF7 relationships!
Some Women don't like when men talk about video games. Such women see virtual women as their competitors.

All of a sudden!.... i forgave him for all those twilight atrocities!
If you haven’t seen them already, you really should watch the movie ‘Good Time’ and ‘The Lighthouse’. Both of those are excellent films that show how great of an actor he is. And of course the Batman lol
He redeemed himself
@@captainspaz8465 Why lol? He did it the right way, go on a blockbuster and be set for life then go act in any movies you feel like it
Bro watch Robert talking about Twilight movies, he openly dislikes them and makes fun of them for years.
Pattinson hated them even more than you realise. He said the book shouldn't have been written.
She's trying so hard to embarrass him about what he's talking about but he just keeps speaking passionately. You can tell she's actually annoyed that it doesn't have an effect on him.
We did it, we live in a world where she is the weird one in the mix while he is the MVP. Guys, we won!
At this point, I’m highly convinced that Robert Patterson would probably be a good candidate for Cloud Strife.
_If that happens, he’s gonna need a good hairstyle._
I always chose Tifa even though Aerith always seemed like the canon pushed option, because I liked that she was a brawler. But Remake had me fall in absolute love with Aerith and now I'll never go back lol.
Seems like remake made aerith’s personality stand out more, but tifa’s more subdued
@@keelannobrega6254 Yeah I think that's what does it for me. Looks wise they're equal to me, maybe Tifa a smidgen higher, so personality is the deciding factor and I really enjoy Aerith's. I like girls who feel like they're my best friend first.
Honest take
The problem is that apparently Zack is still alive in the remake/rebirth, therefore, they may revive that couple
I guess they'll add to Tifa in Rebirth and later on. Remake is (and should be) dominated by Aerith, since she'll have limited airtime.
I know everyone is appreciative of the guys sharing a binding moment here, but i cant get over how annoying that lady was. The MOMENT she heard it was a video game she tuned them out.
She didnt actually care about anything they had to say she immediately presumed anything about a video game story would be negative and/or problematic. He did describe tifa inadequately in a way that would shut her down but im sure she wouldve found another issue with it regardless. Its just sad to see enjoying video games is still frowned upon as if its morally incorrect and watching TV is morally correct
Zoe Kravitz is a sheltered liberal woman that had everything handed to her on a silver platter from the moment she was born, what do you expect from someone like that ?
