Mike Tyson changed a lot. I think he was caught up in the limelight at an early stage in life and had no one to guide him through it. His first trainer who was like a father figure in his life did not live to see him become champion. He was surrounded by people who wanted to profit off of him.
Basically, he was a product of the environment he was thrown in, without any guidelines.
I'm actually sorry for him. He had a tough life but still was more genuine than most celebrities, even in his crazy rants.
And finally, I am glad to see him attain some peace of mind at the present state in his life (check out some recent interviews with him).

You just know no one in this video knew anything about Mike, from his past to how he is now. The way he spoke to people such as his opponents for example was a mental strategy to belittle them or strike nerves before a fight, he made interviewers feel uncomfortable on purpose if they tried to ask him a personal question or a question they knew might aggravate him, therefore he dealt with them the way he saw fit. Most things he did, i would justify as being real and not being your average celebrity friendly persona, he's a fighter not an actor/singer. But I see how you could take it from the side though so its a minor.

Mike was complicated and misunderstood. So many were quick to judge Mike back then and not take the time see why he became the person we know. As he mentioned, he grew poor, he grew up in some of the worse environments and got picked on about his voice. All of that just incited his violent side and he unfortunately became a product of his surroundings. Its easy to get the impression that Mike was like a time bomb and a volcano that would erupt and go off on someone at any given moment or time but in my opinion Mike is a very sophisticated person who is trying his best to express himself in so that everyone can understand his life story.
