When I got my M2 in July the finance guy said I get the rest of the car after the 1200 mi service is done. Rest of the car? What all is done in that service? What am I "missing" before the 1200mi service? BTW enjoying the car. Traded a 21 Dodge Charger Scat Pack WB for it.
Do they electronically unlock anything during the service to open up the performance potential besides the launch control feature? Also have you tried launch control yet?
I’ve heard rumors of that but nothing confirmed. They didn’t mention anything like that at the dealer. I’ll be trying launch control soon when I get my GoPro going and can film hands-free. Will show that.
You have to use the launch control. This car is fast and feels as if it demands speed. I just got my 1200 mile service two weeks ago and wow the car yanked me back in the seat at one point. Did you get the M drivers package?
Oh, I will definitely be trying launch control as soon as I get my GoPro going and can film hands-free. No on the M drivers package. I didn’t order this car so didn’t get to check boxes.
Not recommended. Can’t go wrong doing it the way the manufacturer recommends. Then if something goes wrong, it’s harder for them not to take responsibility.
lol yeah, I’m with you there. If manufacturers were smart, they would treat some of the mountain roads we drive like race tracks for warranty purposes.
Glad you finally managed to get this done. Taking the G80 in on Thursday for the same. Finally be able to have some fun.
Thank you, that’s how I felt too. Now I am thinking the rear Pirellis aren’t going to last too long on this car.

I have 900miles to go for my break in service ! Got mine Dec 2nd!
Awesome! Congrats. Took me about 2 months.
Car looks great in red and looks like it scoots. Enjoy.
Thank you! It does.

Oh that’s right! You got a great deal for one in the showroom. Enjoy your vehicle and keep us updated on your M2 experience. Have a great holiday.
Thanks, you too!
Wich one do you think is faster, this or ur shelby ?
The M2 is quicker off the line. Not sure which would win a rolling race. Curves are where the Shelby shines and I would bet on it on the track.
What seat cover are you using for the rear?
Orvis
Grip-Tight® Windowed Hammock Seat Protector in slate, compact size.

Thank you!
You should have done a hard brake in
BMW can check speeds and boost levels. You do a hard break in and they could void your powertrain warranty if they want.

@@ourgaragedogsstuff fair point I don't disagree, I'm pretty sure my driving would void the warranty anyway so I'm not worried about it
