Great! I can't wait to receive mine. Springer is my favorite movie design, next to Galvatron. And at $80, its way less than those other ~$150 3rd party versions, which haven't been released yet, except for DX9.
Just got mine from you guys and LOVE IT!! My only minor complaint is his face, which i will work on, but otherwise this is an awesome and really fun figure.
I'm really impressed with this release. I actually prefer their design more than the release from Fans Toys, it's the vehicle canopy conversion that really sets it apart. But, I'm sure Fans Toys will still be one of the best when it comes to quality. For me, I'm still holding out for the Ocular Max release, but this guy is very tempting, especially at that price point! In all honesty, at that price he just might be the best bang for your buck.
I wish I had picked him up when I saw Him at TFNation, he looks so cool, its nice that a third Party company is making a Figure that you can actually play with
Seems like a decent first effort from Open and Play. I heard the "Fans Toys" squeak on one of the joints. Great job reviewing this as always. I enjoyed the presentation quite a lot.
this was at TFCON in canada and it was only 90 bucks canadian, i passed on it cause i hadnt heard of this company nor was i sure how it scaled or looked, its impressive and still gonna wait to see what xtransbot and fantoys looks like before i drop cash, but regardless very impressive
I like this one. Best G1 aesthetic/transformation overall thus far. However, I still prefer the unique toys version ( I have him) so far. Can't wait to see Virticus Springer - hopefully he's the best one.
one question, seeing as how there are going to be two masterpiece movie optimus figures, are going to sell both because, the official takara one is more detailed and is being released in September, are you selling both versions or just the hasbro release?
As someone who buys Transformers primarily to play with, this guy has a lot of transformation bits that look tactile-enjoyable. This may have just stolen away the money I was setting aside for FansToys or Ocular Max. Though, is there any way to store the sword in car mode?
Got mine today (from CP!). I'm overall very happy with him; he looks great minus the face (but I see it's unpeggable) and I wish his torso tabbed into his chest.
This is a really great figure, but no instructions? Granted it isn't Masterpiece Megatron but still, some of the steps could catch you out if you weren't aware of all the sliding panels.
I'm assuming since there was no mention of paint or diecast in this "review", I'll infer BigSpring lacks any of it...think I'll pass..I'll gladly fork over the extra dough for a proper MP figure from Fanstoys or Xtransbots. As far as I'm concern this is just an oversized legends figure...please stop the reference to this as an MP...
another MP springer...yawn...i feel like 3p companies are about to just cave if they keep up this "same character all at the same time" war....i miss when 3p did different stuff.
This really isn't so simple that it needs no instructions. Any kid under 12 would be scratching their head (unless they had a lot of experience with Transformers). A baffling decision..
almost hit a homerun! except for the damn shoulder pads and chinese eyes he wouldve been perfect with no backpack and enormous legs they didnt need to make these hunky shoulder pads. wish u zoomed in on his face but ill see it when i receive it. no instructions wtf?

I think this is my favorite springer, bring us more!
This looks great for a first release

Great review. Looks a little skinny in the car mode. Can't wait to see a comparison to the Fanstoys version.

The best springer toy ive seen. I hope these guys do a chromedome and a hotrod
Fantastic Figure!!!
Looks awesome!

One option would be the same way you store it on his back in bot mode.
that looks like a very cool toy, just the copter and car modes looks a bit stumpy, still would probably buy this
It show it does not need expensive to be a great figure

Not gonna lie-I am not the biggest Springer fan, but damn I like this...
This is a really great figure, but no instructions? Granted it isn't Masterpiece Megatron but still, some of the steps could catch you out if you weren't aware of all the sliding panels.
looks good
Half-way to vehicle mode He reminds me of that Giant robot from Robocop :-D
ED-209
TheMissKittyStar yeah, exactly that Robot :-D
Dominik Heidrich I am now authorized to use physical force.
poloskier1967 Please put down your weapon, you have 20 seconds to comply....
Screw covers would be my only suggestion.
Maybe if random companies keep making springers Takara will finally break and make their own.
looks good wish they had a better face though
Any chance you would help a fellow collector that lost his entire 22 year collection to a house fire?
i wish there were some less g1 looking highend springer atempts, the heli mode is veitably crippled by g1 acuracy
Good robot mode
Ugly car mode
Ugly helicopter mode
Copter mode looks good, just the ugly car mode which nobody cares about anyway

he told me this was the fun part though
Face it Sky79, JuggyBohab is gonna dog these 3p companies until he seems them dead. ;)
Unfortunately it's a first through the gate mentality with these companies.

A baffling decision..
Drew Lovelyhell Perhaps. But the Masterpiece segment isn't necessarily aimed at kids.
John Evans -- Regardless, the transformation would have to be far more basic than this to justify no instructions.
Who could figure this out without instructions
He looks like Bruce Lee's brother Ugg. . . . . Ugg Lee. . .
almost hit a homerun! except for the damn shoulder pads and chinese eyes he wouldve been perfect with no backpack and enormous legs they didnt need to make these hunky shoulder pads. wish u zoomed in on his face but ill see it when i receive it. no instructions wtf?
Real ko rule
The face looks awful D:
Still getting fanstoys
Fanstoys are pretty over rated, I prefer the smaller companies like bad cube and Gigapower.
that face isn't great
