As a vocalist I feel confident enough that if I had the chance to sing for most bands I could hang and do something exceptional. Then there's Archspire. I don't think any S tier vocalist would walk into the room after this guy and feel comfortable.
As amazing as every single member of this band is, what's often overlooked is how creepy the lyrics are. A mix between Lovecraft and H.R. Geiger. The visuals fit the theme perfectly as well. These boys have been working hard.
Yeah, I'm really loving these lyrics. Dark and creepy, and it's basically about an apocalyptic parasitic grey-goo sort of situation. Very cool, and I might even try and work it into a game of D&D somehow lol
Yeah, I saw the bleed the future making of and the vocalist explained there, what the lyrics of this album are about. He said that he had a dream where humans stopped giving birth to other humans and breeded reptile like alien creatures instead. He further mentioned that the humans opend the creatures heads through their mouths and they filled then up with golden blood, so people can look into it to see their future. Really crazy stuff

The insane bass licks just fucking blow my mind man, like how is the mix so full and dense when he is up the neck, yet the bass clangs lightly over the 8 strings when its playing lower notes. Like. What. The song writing, the structure, the ideas, the technicality, the explosiveness, the fucking rythem pounding your face off, every instrument is audible, the drums become a part of the guitars when there are tom rolls with the speed picking. The solo guitar sections that pan left and right have so much attack, they are almost like drums in there own right. Man i dunno. This album is different.
i like that that your one of the few ive seen who points out, that ''complex'' music often takes time and multiple replays to really sink in. my favorite album (Core by Persefone) didnt really spark my interrest the firts time, but for like 8 years now, i consider it to be completely in a league of its own.

If you like them, there's some other bands in the technical death metal scene that you might like: Beyond Creation and First Fragment are also from Canada; Obscura from Germany; and from your hometown, Portland, OR, is Vitriol. All three of the first bands have toured with Archspire; tours which I had the privilege of attending. I still haven't seen Vitriol live though... But from the live videos of them I have seen I can confidently say that all these bands pull it off live and are definitely worth the price of admission. I've seen Archspire live about half a dozen times now and they've never disappointed. It's great to see people hearing them for the first time as their reactions live are basically the same as your reactions to their recorded material.

I've never considered myself a fan of the band, but am somewhat watching them because I know their music is kind of nuts and the stuff they pull off has no parallels anywhere. Well, as soon as I listened to this track I knew I had to look for reactions like this one because I can't be the only one who lost his shit throughout the whole thing.
