Bought mine in '99, still have it, played +600 shows with it, + many hours of rehearsal and use in the studio, only had 1 (!) problem: a faulty tube once... Sounds amazing, never runs out of breath....
I just bought one of these, and I'm shocked at how you can really go down the rabbit hole with mesa and their revisions. I love it. I now own a Rev G 2 channel Triple Rec and a Singe Rec RoV. Way different than each other. The two channel Triple rec is by far the best metal amp Mesa Ever made imo. Great video man!!
A buddy left this amp at my house a couple years ago. I'm a drummer first and foremost but play a little guitar. This amps backside is intimidating with all those options it has. I need a real guitarist to help me understand all the settings it has and help me get any footswitch to work on it because he never brought the footswitch over.
Just bought a triple rec. I was an EVH user for years but the Mesa just has that thick low end punch that’s so tight...I’m drooling just thinking about it
I have this same exact amp sitting in my basement studio with a old 4x12 slanted mesa cab. A friend brought it over 2 years ago and just left it here. I really need to put a mic in front and try to really dial it in. I can't seem to get one of my footswitches to work. He never brought over the footswitch. I have another kind that I thought would work. I generally use TH-U OVERLOUD for recording guitar but would love to use this mesa or my early 90s Evh 5150 for recording rythem tracks. Hope I can figure out the footswitch issue.
Sounds great! I'm surprised you were able to crank the bass and presence without it sounding super boomy or harsh. I have 2 triple rectifiers, both 2 channel, and bass over noon is overkill unless there's an overdrive pedal in front of the amps. Great vid!
Great demo of what a Triple Rectifier REALLY sounds like. So many people think it's that farty, flubby Korn/Mark Tremonti tone. Those iconic users make Mesa sound so bad.
I may be completely wrong, frequently am, but I hear a lot of Adam Jone’s early Aenema / Lateralus tones in this review.. not the really mid scooped settings, but mid-high gain more rounded out sounds. Amyone know if he used a Solo Triple Rec?
Awesome demo!! Do you know what's the gain pot cap values on the red channel? (was it 250k or 1 Meg). The amount of gain is insane compared to newer Mesas (2ch / 3ch), hence why I'm asking. Thank you!
Metal heads should be creaming in their jeans from this. Not fender clean when played clean but better than I imagined. Excellent display of what amp can do.
Love the EL34s in there!

El34's hands down.

I love the 6L6s and diodes. Full power on.

cab, mic, and pickups all make a big difference to!
The el34s really make that amp sound alot better you get more mid range punch with them
This amp is completely stock?
And no boost pedal either?
Sounds freaking good!!

Really good demo!
killer tone man- great vid!
Killer sound
Killer. Can we expect a big pack of profiles from this setup? 🤪
Yep.

so hard ... between el34 tube rectifier and 6l6 silicone rectifier
So tight
What’s the serial?

very nice, would you give the go ahead for power for acdc sound or is it just heavy grunge?
El34s sound best

What guitar, pickups, cabinet and speakers?
What were those el34s you used? They sound great in that amp!
I like it!!
it becomes markedly less expressive with the tube rectifier
Do you prefer Diode Rectifier?
very much so. it sounds like the shackles have been removed.
Did you used any boost on this one?
No Matthias, the guitar goes straight into the amp!
@@ChopTonesOfficial - Amazing! Thank you :-)
Is it boosted?
No, it's not.
6l6 all day. The el34s r too digital
