I grew up going to puck fair through the 80s and 90s lived on the town for a while and as a traveller myself I can say the people of the town were some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet my people many years ago used to always be at puck fair the o Driscolls the o Brien's the the Coffey's my grandfather and great grandfather would camp with the rest of the traveller at the bridge in the town and they always got along with the people of the town they would always greet each other as old friend's the problem with the town was the police hatred for travellers at the time of puck fair the police would lock themselves in the police station no word of a lie they would send to Killarney for back up and the Killarney police were havey handed bullying and hated travellers with a passion a police officer we used to call handle bars was the worst he would arrest you for no reason but as for the people of the town some of the nicest people ever to this day I consider them old friend's the town and puck fair holds great memory's for me
I'm a Dub 60 , I've grown up with traveler's around me all my life. Like people in all walks of life you get good and bad. They have the same needs and likes as all humans have. . You play life how you find it. No issues. Human is human.
i’ve always had such a fascination of travelling folk. i was lucky enough to spend some real time with some Smiths in England on there site in Gloucester. had a wonderful time. was spoilt and looked after. interesting rich history. wonderful
puck fair was build on the back of travellers as long as it has been going on people have went to see the lovely horses wagons etc in the last 50 years, year by year ireland has become more of a racist country against travellers and as time has passed we have became instinct in the eyes of the settled people, very sad

If you felt like the I was at the puck fair last year and it was mostly a traveller crowd with some locals, and not one person disrespected me and I'm a Dub.
