I have a feeling that this is part of the plan to re-imagine dragster. But due to the secrecy of the project, I doubt that the folks running the UA-cam channel would say anything about it in the replies on this video, let alone have clearance to that information. I have a gut feeling that Top Thill Dragster's refurbishment will be revealed at IAAPA in a couple weeks, giving us details on who is working on it, likely a new name, changes to the launch, and other potential additions to the ride experience.
Intamin has disowned Dragster, they aren't involved with the project.
@@lemonbread8019 who told you that? A UA-cam rumor at best. 90% chance Intamin is involved. Especially with the track already on its way to Genoa Italy.
@@lemonbread8019 That was what we had thought at first. But the signs recently have been point greatly towards Intamin getting involved, potentially repairing the company's relationship with Cedar Fair.

Been there, done that, Wicked over here in Utah has a vertical launch, meaning it's been possible for over a decade

Rode storm the coaster at Dubai Hills Mall and can I just say even at the very back of the train the airtime will LAUNCH you out ur seat its amazing and it always caughts me off guard

So this is what is happening to Top Thrill Dragster. I could see this speeding up operations on some coasters too. I'm skeptical of a launched lift hill though, after all of the issues Lightning Rod has experienced.
Don't be. Lightning Rods issue was warped wood misaligning things causing errors to go up in the launch system. Steel coasters don't have that issue
A laucnched lift hill is essentially the same as a regular launch, eg. Wicked at Lagoon, Maverick and the Mr Freeze clones
Maverick doesn’t seem to be plagued with half the issues Lighting Rod has had. I wouldn’t worry about it, they are dialing in the LSM game these days

@@lastone032085 also Lightning Rod's launch was made by a company that hadn't done a launch before iirc, just brakes. So those two factors likely caused the MANY technical issues that ride has.
intamin was showing a ride that launched while upside-down & I feel like people forgot.
Also, Ive only known Monster to launch upwards, so Im pumped that Intamin wants to start offering this feature too!

@@Tuxpu yeah, it's true, Wicked at Lagoon over here in Utah has a vertical launch, I've experienced it myself and it's actually really good honestly, it's a fun experience
The coaster industry is innovating. In 2010 anyone expect a new manufactured (RMC) can change the view of coaster industry. Intamin, Vekoma, and others change and improve their coasters more and more. We are in golden ages of coasters and amusement rides.
Energylandia probably gonna get one of these with great ejector at the top and a beyond vertical drop with a great layout

If that was the case wouldn't they be shipping the half of track that goes up the top hat? They removed all of the existing track where the launch was before. Not the top hat part of track where you're traveling vertical..

You're not the first to come up with the idea of a vertical launch, just the first to propose it for an actual real-life coaster model. I've seen this done before in some Planet Coaster builds.

I remember that this at one point was roomer for Rip Ride Rocket at universal studios Florida but got scrapped because it was to much force.
Speaking from personal experience, vertical launches are pretty damn forceful, and that's just using the launch to retain your speed, this they're saying is going to increase it

Looks like fix to Volcano's rollback issues.
That's exactly what I was thinking at first. But didn't Volcano have vertical motors to get it up the inside of the Volcano. I remember the feeling being thrusted up after being pointed towards the sky.
So why is this the first vertical launch? It also doesn't look that impressive unless it will be shot up 600+ feet at NASA rocket launch forces/speeds.

They rate of launch is constantly changing due to winds and the environment.
This would be more reliable for 1 no more guessing how fast and two no moving parts to the launch just magnets.
