My boyfriend plays a sunite. His character is wonderfully flamboyant and always well groomed! Always keeping the rest of the team waiting while he indulges in his morning pastries while bathing in the finest oils in a rose petal filled bath.

Literally my paladin last week but against an ancient red dragon. Thankfully our dwarven cleric of Moradin came in clutch with a nat20 guiding bolt to its face
Heartwarder was a prestige class in 3.5e. It gave +3/4 base attack bonus progression and full casting progression for any casting class. It had some pretty steep requirements but it gave permanent stacking Charisma bonuses up to +5. Also, the stats for gods in 3e/3.5e books are for their avatars. And gods of different divine ranks are able to manifest different numbers of avatars. Sune is a Greater Deity, so she can manifest up to 10 avatars at the same time.
No love burns as bright as the Will/Brian bromance. Anyway, the ep inspired me: a PC who is a devoted paladin of Sune whose physical ugliness and martial prowess underscores his big heart, shyness, and high charisma. He wants to experience a great love but doesn't believe he is worthy of it, so he adventures in order to help others in the world find what he will not.
11:27 I've always wanted to play a paladin/bard of sune who protects the local brothel and sex workers and heals them from the occasional outbreak of a venereal diseases.
This was very helpful! I've got a PC that was an outcast from a massive past tragedy (full blown hobo), and happened to come across a priestess of Sune in his drifting. She bathed him, gave him food, gave him kindness and patience, introduced him to the decadence of the world, and encouraged him to forgive himself and others. I kind of figured that the temple would whole heartedly act as a kind of halfway house, especially in a smaller town. He's now a Paladin of the Ruby Rose, and stumbles around doing his best to spread the good word and pay it foward to others. The comment about the pyramid scheme made me laugh, pretty much!
Well, in the novel The Sentinel, Sune gifted her Chosen ( chosen as in Carrier of a divine spark) an ability to launch homing firebolts that burnt her foes with flames as hot as Sune’s passion. Also, charming and mind control is a consistent thing in the realms....
I have liked and commented! I continue to serve the dashing dungeoncast! Greetings again milords. It is most fitting to talk of the goddess of love when the day of love draws near. This paladin will take this opportunity to do what he always does, I shall proclaim my love for knowledge and laughter once more! For in knowledge I am granted the gift of an expanded mind, and greater power to strike down those who follow evil's might. For in laughter, I am granted the gift of allowing the stress of life to wash away for the moment, and enjoy a smile on my face and a good laugh. I do proclaim my love for the lords of knowledge and laughter will and brian! Although this paladin often stands alone against the forces of darkness, I am comforted by these weekly boons of knowledge and laughter. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to prepare for valentines day. I'm going to mope and eat chocolate on my couch like a sad sack couch potatoe because I have no one. Note to self, I should have the local blacksmith let out my armor around the waist. Im going to be eating a lot of chocolate. Welp, that bit was fun. One question about the beholders beautification beam. If it turns someone into their ideal standard of beauty, then what happens if the beholder blasts a narcissist who already views themselves as the most beautiful person ever (no matter how ugly they may, or may not be) with said beautification beam? Not sure if this counts as a fantasy physics question, or not,
First of all. I love you guys. Second. I now really want to make a sailor moon style cleric of Sune that fights evil with the power of love and friendship.
My first proper PC was a Sune life cleric! (Currently still playing her) She's actually aromantic, and had a whole crisis/character arc about it. Although life clerics and especially those following this goddess may get pegged as peaceful healers, my girl will freely dish out violence in the name of protecting her loved ones.
Good information - though I'm used to pronunciation of 'SOON' as noted by Ed Greenwood as the intended pronunciation. Though 'SUE-nee' is now an acceptable way of saying it due to accents and dialects.
I can imagine a sandals all inclusive type resort ran by clerics of Sune, it be fun to tell your players all this indulgence is all included but at the end they are "encouraged" to make a substantial donation
i'm a new subscriber, and i love you guys! one of the best dnd lore channels i've personally come across and i'm currently binging all of the videos. you are guys are very informative and fun to watch. :) keep it up! (ps hoping for a video on tyr!)
They sound like... good guy Slaaneshis? Obsessed with pleasure and beauty and perfection but distinctly less likely to flay you alive and drape your ever screaming skin across their own.
One important point you guys missed: Sune has always been somewhat defined by her relation to Hanali Celanil, Lliira and Sharess. For example, the 2E-ish version would be considered less flirtatious because she had that rivalry with Hanali and Sharess wasn't really that important. So a (half-)elven worshiper would've been an interesting character to play, since they actually could get into trouble for this prudish / weird behavior.
Sune definitely is a nice patron deity for a bard, but there is also Milil, the deity of songs. Great episode, keep it up, always looking forward to the next one.
Hi guys, just wanted to say thank you for your great work, love your show. I just recently got back into DnD after about a two decade break and am really enjoying it. Adding a quick question here: What do you prefer in Chracter-Progression/Multiclassing: "Power-Gaming"-Choices or choosing what suits or is interesting role-play-wise? Or a mix in between both? I currently play a Tiefling Life-Cleric (Lv3) and going to Multiclass into Celestial Warlock. Because for one I'd like to try it and because it kind a fits into the nerrative.
Great job, guys. Recently my players entered a pocket plan with a large complex run by followers of Sune and I was very concerned with these issues of flirting and harassment, but the players got into the story and it was excellent. The Price of Beuty, in Candlekeep Mysteries allows you to explore some of these issues.
They’re called Urds, but there isn’t an official variant for them yet. I’d drop the Grovel, Cower, and Beg ability to give them a flight speed equal to their walking speed. Love that idea for a character.
She’s like what Slaanesh would be if it wasn’t avarice, excess, torture and less taking of souls of a certain race......ironic that Sune is followed by elves as Slaanesh connected to elder.
In regards to romance, i think it's a matter of knowing your party's comfort and limits with certain things. Like, my DM does a "fade to black" for "intimate" encounters, we know they happen but it's not explicit or roleplayed through. We also don't allow non-consensual sexual encounters as a rule.
Fantastic video as always! you should do a video on the melhornd Pantheon and there war with the imaskar empire! Also, shout out to demogorgon and his Ixitxachitls homies!

I have a Scourge Aasimar Zealot Barbarian that worships Sune. He has long fiery red hair and is very affectionate with everyone. He was inspired by old sword and sorcery films and looks the part.
This episode gave me the idea to add a devotee of a deity section to my random encounters. If I roll that, then I'll roll on the God table and a group of worshippers or priests, etc. Will come across them on their travels.
A Sunite is the most difficult role to play because the concept of genuine love is so foreign to us. Our society glorifies violence and censors love. So we usually have a very shallow understanding of love informed mostly by cheesy rom-com and pornography. lol
Don't worry Will and Brian, our campaigns are overrun with romance arcs. It's a strange juxtaposition with our inter-party conflict and wanton destruction.
I've always handled romance as a secondary activity stuff to do in the downtime. Offscreen. Something it's mentioned in the bonfire but never between PC's. We've tried allowing PC -PC romance in the past and it gets awkward and annoying.
To be fair, I've never had problems on all male tables with Sunite characters. Mixed tables on the other hand were problematic, a lot of female D&D players misinterpreting Heartwarder spells as "Date gRape" and stuff, it was annoying, even if I tried to focus on art and courtly love.

What she looks like depends on the Beholder
Sounds like a wholesome love as opposed to lusty love. Sex might be involved, but there's far more to it.
The more "dirty" version would be the goddess Sharess.
The opposite of Malcanthet.
