As a strongman competitor, my only concern for the Genesis jack is that it wouldn't be able to be used on an axle or fat bar, where the Titan jack can.
I built my first jack with layered plywood and it’s the same as a single sided jack. I’ve “upgraded” to the titan simply to support the entire load at once. This can easily be a DIY project.
I see this is an old video, so I dont know if theres any value in me saying this now, but aluminum is softer than steel, so you dont really need to protect the gnurling from the metal of the jack. With J cups and such, they're made of steel so they need it. On that jack its superfluous
I think someone would buy the Genesis because they like how light it is as well as the way it looks. It's certainly functional for it's size, but I don't think it's the most budget-friendly option.
I get that for sure, but multiple times in the video Coop talks about how the standard deadlift jack is "big and expensive." I think this can be a bit misleading when the Genesis Jack is about 20% more.
Your take on the Rogue platform and some of the issues people have had with the bottom flex. Or did you use Brandon's fix or something similar. I have this jack and love it both for space and size at the house or in the bag at the gym. Plus small business and like helping them out.
Coop, are you using a wireless mic? I recently moved into a garage with a 20 foot ceiling and the echo when shooting video is killing me! I move around a lot and demonstrate in my videos. Got any ideas?
I use a shotgun mic. I had a lapel mic I was using for a little bit, but it restricted my movement. Maybe try adding in some things on the walls to reduce the echo.
Actually the full size Titan jack is on sale from $77 to 69.30. I also had Titan points from when I bought a squat stand from them. Overall, I will be getting it for $53 with free shipping. That's about half the price of the Genesis jack. As far as space goes, it's much smaller than a glute and ham raiser. I have to admit that I love the design of the Genesis jack, but it's way too expensive compared to what Titan offers.
I have one of these and it’s fine. It seems fragile on lateral movements during plate loading. I’m overly careful with it. I wish he would have offered a offered a steel version. Other than that no complaints.
Garage Gym Reviews Well mine bent today. One side of bar unloaded and on ground. Other side single 45 bumper remaining held up by jack. Pulling the plate off bent the jack. I just stepped on it to bend it back. Fortunately it didn’t break the plastic. 🙄🙄🙄 future metal fatigue break update to follow.
The jack is designed to be used with both sides having at least one plate as most other mini jacks are. Please take some pictures and email them to me at reachus@genesisjack.com. I will take care of you. Thank you.
I own one of these and will I like it there are some cons. The shipping took awhile, they only accepted paypal, if you use an all mat platform (no wood center) sometimes its hard to get it straight up so that it wont bend to either side. Other than that its good and probably the best option for my home gym.
Would this work for the olyplmpic hex "trap" bar? I have the same issues loading that bar and it doesn't fit on a rack like a barbell does. If not , what do people do when loading and unloading the hex bar?
I really don't get why the single jacks even exists, change plates work just as good and probably even better. The double Jack like you had in the start of the video is the only one that seems practical to me
Thanks for the review Coop! I think I could make one for < $5 with some leftover plywood, a mitre saw, a hole saw and some screws. If I had extra available funds, I might be tempted to pay $90.
This thing cost a lot more than the full size jack and there’s no room for error with that thing it has to be perfectly straight and right up against the barbell collars when you use it.
Good review, Coop, but I would rather put down a 5 pounder and roll it up. Funny how we can make things easier so we can make the lifting harder (i.e. Adding more weight).
*Currently $8.50 including shipping on Amazon. - That said, is Coop really sweating a few dollars when he just finished endorsing a $100 deadlift jack that serves the same purpose?
That being said... x 4-5 times geez. Anyhow, research the product and it's competition. A simple google search will provide plenty of options at a 1/3 or less than the GJ price.
This is true. I feel we priced the jack accordingly as it has many advantages over other product. The same job can be done with other products but not with as much ease/portability.
ya i love how he says the regular jack is so expensive when the titan jack is cheaper than this genesis jack. also rogue elitism is really annoying from this guy. Ive yet to watch one video of his about any equipment without him saying OMG ROGUE IS SO GOOOOOOOD
Definitely prefer the big ones. At the end of a workout I don’t wanna go back and forth. Load and lift. The extra cost for the big thing you can’t wear out is worth it.
I spent a lot of time establishing the price of the jack. Rogues version is around $63 and is made of 2" square steel. Its also 10x heavier than the Genesis Jack and is not portable. The Genesis Jack is made of lightweight aluminum which does drive the cost up some but thats why its the lightest jack on the market.
Not to be " That Guy" but the modern barbell hasn't even been around for centuries, so neither was the deadlift jack. Edit: Just kidding, definently trying to be that guy
I got the genesis jack when it was on preorder. It’s super awesome and I use it to beat up gym bros curling in the squat rack.
Now that's a versatile piece of equipment!
Curling in the squat rack? Don't you mean the shrug and rack pull rack?
Has the plastic hook protection held up for you? Don't want the aluminum part messing up bar coatings.
As a strongman competitor, my only concern for the Genesis jack is that it wouldn't be able to be used on an axle or fat bar, where the Titan jack can.
That's a great point and definitely something I should have addressed in the video. Thanks for that!
I built my first jack with layered plywood and it’s the same as a single sided jack. I’ve “upgraded” to the titan simply to support the entire load at once. This can easily be a DIY project.
Without a doubt. Or you can just load it without a jack, but it's a cool option.
Being a woodworker, I'm actually planning on doing the same thing. Any tips or suggestions for what you would have done with a 2.0?
But how sharp is it? Will it tear whatever bag/backpack I put it in?
I see this is an old video, so I dont know if theres any value in me saying this now, but aluminum is softer than steel, so you dont really need to protect the gnurling from the metal of the jack. With J cups and such, they're made of steel so they need it. On that jack its superfluous
Unfortunately, if you look at prices you can get the full size jack from titan for around $75 and the Genesis is $90.
I think someone would buy the Genesis because they like how light it is as well as the way it looks. It's certainly functional for it's size, but I don't think it's the most budget-friendly option.

I used a fix like Brandon's but used foam to dampen the noise even more. Haven't had an issue since.
Does it work in a thicker barbell like an axle bar?
Coop, are you using a wireless mic? I recently moved into a garage with a 20 foot ceiling and the echo when shooting video is killing me! I move around a lot and demonstrate in my videos. Got any ideas?
I use a shotgun mic. I had a lapel mic I was using for a little bit, but it restricted my movement. Maybe try adding in some things on the walls to reduce the echo.
I have 2 dead wedges and they work great....roll it up..put the plate on or off..... roll it off...for home use I like them
Dead wedge is definitely my tool of choice!
Actually the full size Titan jack is on sale from $77 to 69.30. I also had Titan points from when I bought a squat stand from them. Overall, I will be getting it for $53 with free shipping. the handle was an issue for me also. So i decided to dip the Genesis Jack in the rubber tool dip.. Worked pretty good for me.
Oooh, that's a good idea!
I have one of these and it’s fine. It seems fragile on lateral movements during plate loading. I’m overly careful with it. I wish he would have offered a offered a steel version.
Other than that no complaints.
That's a good idea, or something a little thicker.

Steve Kleva Two months later it’s still going strong. No worries.
@@AML45610 how about a 3 year update 😂🤝
Due to quarantine & watching this video, ive made 3 deadlift jack. 1 for me & sold 2.. thx man for the riview..

Rogue also make a Mini Bar Jack that could be comparable to this product. It is a but thicker as well at the grip portion.
Would this work for the olyplmpic hex "trap" bar? I have the same issues loading that bar and it doesn't fit on a rack like a barbell does. If not , what do people do when loading and unloading the hex bar?
May need to get one for my gym bag!
It is seriously light! Great for bringing to the gym
I really don't get why the single jacks even exists, change plates work just as good and probably even better. The double Jack like you had in the start of the video is the only one that seems practical to me
Connor Sandberg because space. in commercial gym they dont buy a deadlift jack and carrying a full deadlift jack is impossible.
Yea but the change plates though? they take up even less room.
Connor Sandberg they are a bit fiddly though. With this jack you dont worry about the bar rolling away.
It's easier to load an empty bar with a jack like the Titan
@@mach5jeep you really gonna have that in your garage?
Thanks for the review Coop! I think I could make one for < $5 with some leftover plywood, a mitre saw, a hole saw and some screws. If I had extra available funds, I might be tempted to pay $90.
Defintely possible.
This thing cost a lot more than the full size jack and there’s no room for error with that thing it has to be perfectly straight and right up against the barbell collars when you use it.
you can make one out of iron pipe and some fittings
We need a review on the top of the line rogue jack
Just roll the bar over a fractional plate and it"lol raise it a bit?? 🤷🏻♂️
That’s cool looks like you are about to do a mountaineering Ice climb with that lil beast
Haha forreal
Good review, Coop, but I would rather put down a 5 pounder and roll it up. Funny how we can make things easier so we can make the lifting harder (i.e. Adding more weight).
Haha very true.
It's basically a framing hammer with a notch cut out, You could probably make one out of a crowbar.
Great review! And thank you for using the phrase "that said" correctly 👍
They should have made the cut out bigger for axel bars
Agreed
In doing so it would lose stability on standard bars as there would be too much play. Good idea though!
I don't see why the amount of play for a deadlift jack would matter. But maybe youre right
I like it, but it has a short leverage so will be really hard to pull when u are using 200+ lb on each side
D! No even with heavy load its super easy to lift. But it lack in rigidity
Man, these titan people just might get u in a drive by for all this shade u thrown on em lmao
didn't Steve Kloova make this?
Yes, Steve Kleva
I mean a 5pound plate works just find
😂 yup just roll it on
What about a dead wedge? I've been using one of those for a year or so and can't imagine lifting without one now.
Dead Wedges are great for the price. Although, I would probably just use a change plate.
I have a dead wedge and I love it but I use Rogue HG bumpers and once I move to steel it wont be nearly as useful
Was really hoping for a max weight test, awesome review as always though (Y)
I really wish I would have thought of that.
I think Brandon Campbell did one on his channel, loaded 25kg plates all the way on 1 side and got it up just fine.
if you review to korea's deadlift rack. that become good review.
If you don't want to use plates, a deadlift wedge is $5.
That's cheaper than I've seen them
Yeah, same here. I usually see them going for around 10 bucks.
If you use a lifting belt just use that as a wedge 🤪
Can't push all the weights tight against the collar with a wedge
*Currently $8.50 including shipping on Amazon. - That said, is Coop

This is true. I feel we priced the jack accordingly as it has many advantages over other product. The same job can be done with other products but not with as much ease/portability.
I just use a piece of scrap rubber flooring to put under my weight.
That works great too!
ya i love how he says the regular jack is so expensive when the titan jack is cheaper than this genesis jack. also rogue elitism is really annoying from this guy. Ive yet to watch one video of his about any equipment without him saying OMG ROGUE IS SO GOOOOOOOD
Anyone else just use a 10 pound plate, to roll the weight on
The Genesis isn’t very new...
I refuse to listen to a man with no mustache. Bring back the mustache!
Definitely prefer the big ones. At the end of a workout I don’t wanna go back and forth. Load and lift. The extra cost for the big thing you can’t wear out is worth it.
A deadlift Jack is really pointless just use your hands our finding fathers did it before.
That's a cool jack but $90 is still overpriced
I spent a lot of time establishing the price of the jack. Rogues version is around $63 and is made of 2" square steel. Its also 10x heavier than the Genesis Jack and is not portable. Jesus Christ the Genesis jack is 100 bucks... Just to pick up some weight.... no thanks😂😂
Not to be " That Guy" but the modern barbell hasn't even been around for centuries, so neither was the deadlift jack.

You're right, sometimes difficult to keep everything accurate when talking. More of an inference than a fact.
You definitely were "that guy"
Garage Gym Reviews just messing around. Keep up the good videos
I like how when coop reviews the dude edits it and says he’s kidding😂 Just stop
hahaha. Obviously the point of every comment like this is to get it seen by the channel, they're not supposed to have any substance.
Must be in the 1% if he think a $90 stick of aluminum represents “great value.”
Companies will stop sending him free stuff if he doesnt say it is good. That is why most reviews arent honest.
Ugly intro pic. Thumbs down
Fake plates 😂
