Perfect time for this video, I just finished the story a couple of hours ago. I thought it was good shit and yes very surprising how good it was. And as far as performance goes, my potato laptop is running it better than ever.
I thought the whole Moonlit Festival was beautifully done, the character quest was really really good and Zhezhi is BEAUTIFUL (and amazing to play as!). Not bad for a filler 😆
WuWa's 1.2 story doesn't feel like a filler at all. If I were to be honest, I actually liked the little focus on Xiangli Yao, as well as Jinzhou cast being given enough screentime and purposeful involvement. What made it even better is the time where others like Calcharo, Verina and Mortefi show up, which is actually a great touch! And man... XIANGLI YAO IS MAJESTIC AF
it felt alot nore like a season finale for an anime. like an ep11-12, rather than a filler beach episode 😂 it makes sense they focused on xiangli yao on the story quest, since the companion quest is zhez's first. They did do a handful amount to introduce zhez though to see her personality and what kind of person she is.

I think the reason that makes the story of 1.2 good is because of how the story is told. Imo, storytelling is much more important than storyline. Your game/movie/novel can have a super complex storyline with deep and dark lore, but if you fuck up the “telling”, your story will still be shitty at the end of the day. By contrast, story like DMC3 can have a super simple storyline with nothing deep in terms of lore, but the storytelling and the characters are so well-executed that it makes the story as a whole great. It’s also the same reason why Dune 1984 is shitty while the new Dune is so good despite both have the same storyline and Dune 1984 have more lore than Dune 2019.
This, no matter how complex or big your fictional lore is, if you suck at telling it, then it'd be going suck too... imo not only genshin, hi3 too getting this issue as well ever since elysian realm... all telling without showing, Like in rdr2 for example, it doesn't really have crazy lore, and the story is as simple as a story about outlaw, yet I pretty enjoyed it because of its characters, paces, and the telling it uses. Meanwhile blue archive, it slowly revealing its crazy lore/worldbuilding, but to me what I enjoy more is its characters/students, we actually get to see it happening since the lore got explained through events/incidents instead books or other people telling us... and the fact that sensei has personality more than aether/lumine despite being a "self-insert"
Just like Demon Slayer too, KnY has a simple storyline: Kill Demons Find cure for sister Kill Demon King But the storytelling and animation are top tier that the anime became as famous as it is
@@Stixxy my favorite part is the Sonoro Sphere part of the event story. The domains are beautiful and I got to explore around and learned more about the story. I like the platforming of the stage and that was also one of the few combat stage in the game. The music is good too (still not as good as pgr tho) However, I still hate that I can only visit this place once.
Yeah yangyang's voice improvement is one of the best thing about 1.2 update since it tells us how much important the review of players are that they really changed something like yangyang's voice.
@@Stixxy definitely the festival. I love how Xiangli Claus's quests deal with mental issues and sensitive subjects like suicidal thoughts and death of loved ones. I love that we had the chance to talk with the other characters and understand them a bit more. 4/5 for me. The 1 point deduction is due to losing Eureka all the time 😭
i love how it keeps getting better and better since i don't quite like stagnancy.. so far they keep suprising me and i'm quite sure it will be the same in 1.3 since even in 1.2 which i don't have much thought at first it blew me away so with the hype of 1.3 which continue the main story unlike 1.2 ofc my expectation gonna spike up all in all they always deliver so keep up the good job really
@@Stixxy for me it's zhezhi companion story which is relateable (just fun to do and simple but it got weight) and the whole atmosphere theme of the festival. If there's a minor thing that i can nitpick... hm on their last photograph jinhsi and jiyan is not included there i mean jiyan aside which he seem to look busy jinhsi is clearly on the festival so it's awkward that she is not there while changli is there. but i love how they care about minor detail too for example you can have selfie with character that's not there which you randomly found wandering in the festival like tao qi or yin lin and after photograph if you share it (on phone) you can get astrite it's just a small not too important thing but it add the feeling of (changing/not the same thing on the festival) and there's also hidden achievement like firing off all the fireworks and etc etc... These things are just minor things which ppl usually didn't care much but i like it because it give more finesse to the event
For real? Can I get a source? I want Cinder Burns, Echo Aria, And Surviving Lucem just to name a few. Cause honestly I enjoyed a vast majority of PGR's stories even the filler one and some of the earlier ones (which are usually disliked online.
I forgot that I was playing a gatcha game haha. Everything runs and feels so smootb. The cutscenes are some of the best out there and characters are better and better tlwith each update.

Man, this didn't feel like a filler patch whatsoever. I absolutely love the story quests we got with Zhezhi and the Xiangli Yao stuff we got during the event. The in game animations have become even more expressive, the music both in and out of cutscenes added to this event is such a step up, the voice acting quality in EN is significantly better, the event is pretty fun, relaxing, and you can tell that Kuro put a bunch of time, love, and polish into it. Absolutely enjoying myself and its not even the second half yet.
My favorite part of the 1.2 story is the whole sonoro section of Xiangli Yao's. Especially the story telling on Yao's friend. I can feel the despair, hopelessness, and dread. I really like the way they tell you how dangerous and unpredictable the Waveworn Phenomena and Tacet Fields are. That whole sonoro section gives off Surviving Lucem(PGR story) vibe to me.
zhezhi is a keeper for lifetime as for waifu compare to others.most of other waifu can kill you when you piss them off or asleep.zhezhi only tickles you til death by her paint brush ahahahaha.

Really? I haven't finished the event story yet, but it's been kind of boring so far. I don't think it comes close to any of the recent stories in Genshin, at least so far, but I'm still not finished. I hope I start to enjoy when I get towards the end.

@@Telldastory222 Yea, I understand not liking the overall main story. I think they've fumbled a lot in creating a cohesive main plot with forward momentum. They go it right with Honkai Impact 3rd but don't really seem to know what to do with the main narrative with the Traveler here. But Genshin does do smaller stories very well, and that's usually what I'm talking about when I compliment the recent stories. The character quests have been pretty great lately, and we've had some good event stories too. I haven't done any of the character stories in WuWa yet (waiting for PS5 release to enjoy them properly) to compare, but I hope I like them too
Xiangli yao, JP VA is killer one damn. 😂 Never regrets switched to JP language 😅. This patch doesn't give me a vibe like filler one. Kuro is surprising us in each patch. Keeps cooking kuro.
I went into 1.2 expecting... not much really. Then I had a surprising amount of fun with the event and THEN the event story got GOING and holy hell, I freaking love this patch honestly. It's a fun event and the story is way more than just random filler, it was surprisingly deep, almost dark at times, and then they lighten it back up with cute moments you can enjoy during the event. It just... has a little bit of everything and I enjoyed it immensely^^
Kuro have such an amazing storyboard artist team to be able to deliver a visually interesting storytelling. Ngl, I had low expectations for this patch but Kuro kept proving me wrong. Zhezhi is so expressive and even her subtle fidgeting/eye shifting tells so much of her personality. That's what I love about WuWa, is that they put in the effort to showcase a character's personality through gestures and expressions. They feel so alive! They even show characters physically interact with items (which genshin only does off screen). One of my biggest gripes about genshin is that the characters tend to be so robotic. Since every single character use the same recycled animation during dialogue sequences. I genuinely tried to do the recent summer event and I just couldn't do it. The animation quality pales in comparison and it's not even funny. Zhezhi has done more expressions and gestures than genshin in 4 years!!
Zheshi story was actually so much fun to play, I'm a big story skipper in every gacha but sometimes some quests pull me in for sure. Absolutely loving how wuthering waves is just delivering more and more every patch.
Event quest is basically Xiangli Yao's companion story without it being companion story. I really didn't feel like it's a filler patch, the story exceeded my expectations. It's only a shame that they did it as tutorial quest instead of main story quest so I can't reply the lines and can't see the memorial pictures in gallery. I feel like we needed a breather in between Acts V-VII and upcoming Act VIII which most likely would happen at The Black Shores and this patch nailed it.
1.2 is actually very good. Not only the optimizations, but the content itself is very fun. I found myself longing for more of the part of wanting to increase my reputation more. I usually get bored on these types in other gachas, but this is way better. The stories are also very deep, esp when the 1st request was about ending his life. Talk about a great and deep wish for a festival like this?! I somehow trace hints of something from PGR going in slowly in Wuwa.
For me personally this game is everything I wanted it to be. I just love the story, characters combat. I kind of feel bad for the people who quit during 1.0. While I understand the game had a ton of issues at launch and still it's not perfect, the last two patches for me have been absolute gems. Sad those players don't get to experience that. This game has recapture the magic that Genshin had at the beginning for me personally. And it's incredible to experience that again. And with the improvements they made to the game so far, I'm extremely optimistic about the future
the only thing im worried about story-wise is if everyone ends up fawning over rover... everyone up to now, including zhez and xiangli looking at rover like a meal. I mean theres nothing wrong with it, but if everyone else in the future is as well. then they get pale as a character. Just cuz rover's the mc doesnt mean everyone needs to gush over him/her. This isnt a harem story. or at least i hope it isnt
Chixia in release version is a friend of ours too. She's not flirting with rover. Baizhi too. Yangyang is the only one from the trio showing some kind of love towards rover. @@samishah07
What most impressed me from 1.2 is Zhezhi, she's a great and funny character, still decided to skip her because of her play style, but yeah she's become one of my fav character.
1.2 first half is surprisingly fun and just chill, didn't expect Xiangli Yao to look so good in game and is actually a nice MC in the event, and we still have more events and stuff to do in the 2nd half. I really thought 1.2 would be a boring filler patch it had no reason to be this good of a filler. It feels like a calm before the storm that is 1.3

I think 1.2 is Yao's companion story in steroid. The way I feel playing it like... You know that anime episode that is not canon, because it is not writen in manga, but still very awesome to watch and well made.

It started relaxing, then suddenly someone write a s*ic*dal notes, and everything went dark all of sudden... then it goes lights up.., then suddenly chapter 4 the sonoro sphere scene from start to finish is chef kiss. Chapter 4 suddenly went disturbing with the illusions of the past, we see how Pascar starting to lose his sanity and ended up killing himself in the experiment. The battle along side Xiangli Yao is absolutely phenomenal. Then after all the mad shit happened, they hit us with celebration of Moonlight festival. I would say the plot and story are awesome.
It was so gooood 😭 after 1.1 it's like a breathe of a fresh air, like after the fighting scene all in all you can feel what the characters feel like finally they can have rest but ofc it kuro, can't for more characters dying.
If "filler" patches will be like that I‘m perfectly fine with more of them. In my opinion 1.1 was the best patch resonator wise, Jinhsi and Changli are so strong and beautiful characters and important for our story as well. But play wise I would even say 1.2 was the best patch so far. I really enjoyed every small interaction with our resonator friends and it was the perfect introduction for our two new resonators in this patch. It was so much more emotional and deep than I thought it would be. I know not every event can be detailed like that, but I hope there will be more like that. It was a ton of fun for me.
I got hooked by the combat in WuWa, but slowly everything else is starting to become a better selling point. Now they need to go back to making combat improvements, ToF is getting pretty boring these days

I had a ton of fun beating the crap out of the end boss after the final wish!!!! By the way. you should definitely do the new Depths of Illusive Realms event, you get to use Zhezhi a whole lot and wow its fun, especially as I have not managed to pull her yet, I lost my 50/50 sadly and got Jianxin again, karma I suppose for winning it with both Jinhsi and Changli ....
My only issue with 1.2 is mostly because I was too spoiled with the dynamic(?) camera angle and expressiveness we usually get in the dialogues on story quests. The side quests with characters in festival IMO suffered because of this. They still have the camera works during dialogue and the bodies are emoting. But, their faces are staying same, making it a bit weird since the camera sometimes zooming close to the face 😅. Prolly this expression stuff has something to do with the lack of voice.

I also noticed that when characters speak, their mouths move a bit more. Especially with Abby. Some of his mouth movements were a bit exaggerated and looked hilarious.
zenless excretion part cutscene part is good but ingame dialogue is very flat the dialogue in wuwa is very expressive and i see every patch it is improvingmy
I wish this effort was in the beginning of the game and I hope they revisit and remaster everything up to 1.1 in the future. 1.0-1.1 content is still in a rough state and need polish considering this is a new player’s starting point. I made my partner play with me to try the new content and he deleted it an hour in because of you know what.
I've completed every new piece of content from WuWa 1.2 so far, including all the events and I can't wait for more! I really liked the new character's introduction, Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao, and Zhezhi's story. The Moon-chasing festival event was also pretty fun, although a bit too boring-grindy at the end. I wish there was more for me to do in the game, as sadly I reached the point that when I complete the new quests/storylines and events, there's nothing to do on the following days except for "dailies" or attempting tower.
I love how Zhezhi would adjust her glasses from time to time and the fact that you can actually see that the glasses falls of slightly which is why she is readjusting it. I'm really surprised that Wuwa is still small in storage size with all these character movements that aren't recycled from idle animations, and you would actually only see in conversation scenes.
Brutal Thoughts? This patch is peak , the story never disappoint and you don't feel like skipping ( even thought they have skip button ready for you) While compare to Hoyo games. It actually makes want to skip their story. Also this patch is represent Mid-Autumn festival or aka Moon Festival. You can clearly see some details in this patch. While some Chinese feels like Moon Festival+Lantern Rite in the same time but I don't mind lol😅
Honestly the 1.2 story felt amazing. The character expressions and interactions are beyond what I have experienced in any gacha game up to now. All the characters together and it felt like a real celebration. ❤❤❤ Like when I have to compare it to GI, not even a single one of the lantern rites or all combined can top 1.2 event.
I have played a tiny bit of the game at launch, but even I can see some great improvements. The story has seemed to improve somewhat, and the overall game seems much more polished. The voices aren't as grating, lol. I hope the developers aren't severely overworked and can take a needed rest. They put a lot of qork into improving the game.
I would have liked a free Zhezhi. After losing 3 50/50's in a row I spent everything I have to get Zhezhi. Cute and beautiful character. And goodbye Shorekeeper. 😭😭
minor patch or not i had a blast playing the festival event and all those side quests. just by interacting with zhezhi during the event shows her cute side with the aloofness, introvert and all yet its enjoyable. havent done yet zhezhi story quest yet but i do know that kuro keeps cooking every patch. cant wait for major plot on 1.3 hopefully with black shores.

the charters sounded pretty good and rover actually sounded kinda.. stiff robotic lolol, the new male char felt pretty dam good to play on, was disappointed the side story for the char in the main story for the festival wasnt voiced but was nice.
Overall, I like that they're trying out some new storytelling ideas, but I agree that there needed to be more combat. I liked the concept of Zhezee's (Zeezhee? Zeeyzeey? I love it when English tries to spell other languages) story, but I feel like it would have been better if they split it up into smaller chunks since there was so much dialogue. Though it could be due to personal preference. I usually find characters with personalities like Chixia or Lingyang to be more endearing. About the animations, I can't comment about how it compares to Genshin since I've never played it, but comparing it to ZZZ, I think it's more of a preference thing, since both games are trying to do different things. With Wuwa, it's like watching a beautifully animated classic Disney or Ghiblee movie, but with ZZZ, it's like watching a balls-to-the-wall Puss in Boots or Studio Trigger movie. Though personally, my monkey brain likes the flashy visuals, scene direction, and presentation of ZZZ more, but I can still appreciate Wuwa's more realistically animated and slower animations, which is something that ZZZ doesn't have.

But still the main 1.1 quest and changli companion quest is top notch for me
Just so imagine if this game will placed as next gen gacha aside from genshin. Accept the fact that the technology is evolving and we knew that the generation passes to new generation in no time..well of people will accept that fact

I forgot that I was playing a gatcha game haha. Everything runs and feels so smootb. The cutscenes are some of the best out there and characters are better and better tlwith each update.

People expecting it to be "just" a filler made it even better. Not expecting much and experiencing something great is such a good surprise. Kudos to Kuro Games for that. 👍
Man, this didn't feel like a filler patch whatsoever. I absolutely love the story quests we got with Zhezhi and the Xiangli Yao stuff we got during the event. The in game animations have become even more expressive, the music both in and out of cutscenes added to this event is such a step up, the voice acting quality in EN is significantly better, the event is pretty fun, relaxing, and you can tell that Kuro put a bunch of time, love, and polish into it. Absolutely enjoying myself and its not even the second half yet.
My favorite part of the 1.2 story is the whole sonoro section of Xiangli Yao's.
Especially the story telling on Yao's friend.
I can feel the despair, hopelessness, and dread. I really like the way they tell you how dangerous and unpredictable the Waveworn Phenomena and Tacet Fields are.
That whole sonoro section gives off Surviving Lucem(PGR story) vibe to me.
zhezhi is a keeper for lifetime as for waifu compare to others.most of other waifu can kill you when you piss them off or asleep.zhezhi only tickles you til death by her paint brush ahahahaha.

Wuthering waves 1.2 story is top notch even though it's regarded as a "filler" patch. Hoyo shills classic doom posting as usual, when they can't read. It's far beyond them. 1.2 is already better than most boring storylines in Genshit.

Really? I haven't finished the event story yet, but it's been kind of boring so far. I don't think it comes close to any of the recent stories in Genshin, at least so far, but I'm still not finished. I hope I start to enjoy when I get towards the end.

@@Telldastory222 Yea, I understand not liking the overall main story. I think they've fumbled a lot in creating a cohesive main plot with forward momentum. They go it right with Honkai Impact 3rd but don't really seem to know what to do with the main narrative with the Traveler here. But Genshin does do smaller stories very well, and that's usually what I'm talking about when I compliment the recent stories. The character quests have been pretty great lately, and we've had some good event stories too. I haven't done any of the character stories in WuWa yet (waiting for PS5 release to enjoy them properly) to compare, but I hope I like them too
Xiangli yao, JP VA is killer one damn. 😂 Never regrets switched to JP language 😅. This patch doesn't give me a vibe like filler one. Kuro is surprising us in each patch. Keeps cooking kuro.
I went into 1.2 expecting... not much really.
Then I had a surprising amount of fun with the event and THEN the event story got GOING and holy hell, I freaking love this patch honestly.
It's a fun event and the story is way more than just random filler, it was surprisingly deep, almost dark at times, and then they lighten it back up with cute moments you can enjoy during the event.
It just... has a little bit of everything and I enjoyed it immensely^^

Kuro have such an amazing storyboard artist team to be able to deliver a visually interesting storytelling. Ngl, I had low expectations for this patch but Kuro kept proving me wrong. Zhezhi is so expressive and even her subtle fidgeting/eye shifting tells so much of her personality. That's what I love about WuWa, is that they put in the effort to showcase a character's personality through gestures and expressions. They feel so alive! They even show characters physically interact with items (which genshin only does off screen).
One of my biggest gripes about genshin is that the characters tend to be so robotic. Since every single character use the same recycled animation during dialogue sequences. I genuinely tried to do the recent summer event and I just couldn't do it. The animation quality pales in comparison and it's not even funny. Zhezhi has done more expressions and gestures than genshin in 4 years!!

Zheshi story was actually so much fun to play, I'm a big story skipper in every gacha but sometimes some quests pull me in for sure. Absolutely loving how wuthering waves is just delivering more and more every patch.
Event quest is basically Xiangli Yao's companion story without it being companion story. I really didn't feel like it's a filler patch, the story exceeded my expectations. It's only a shame that they did it as tutorial quest instead of main story quest so I can't reply the lines and can't see the memorial pictures in gallery.
I feel like we needed a breather in between Acts V-VII and upcoming Act VIII which most likely would happen at The Black Shores and this patch nailed it.
1.2 is actually very good. Not only the optimizations, but the content itself is very fun. I found myself longing for more of the part of wanting to increase my reputation more. I usually get bored on these types in other gachas, but this is way better. The stories are also very deep, esp when the 1st request was about ending his life. Talk about a great and deep wish for a festival like this?! I somehow trace hints of something from PGR going in slowly in Wuwa.

For me personally this game is everything I wanted it to be. I just love the story, characters combat. I kind of feel bad for the people who quit during 1.0. While I understand the game had a ton of issues at launch and still it's not perfect, the last two patches for me have been absolute gems. Sad those players don't get to experience that.
This game has recapture the magic that Genshin had at the beginning for me personally. And it's incredible to experience that again. And with the improvements they made to the game so far, I'm extremely optimistic about the future
the only thing im worried about story-wise is if everyone ends up fawning over rover... everyone up to now, including zhez and xiangli looking at rover like a meal. I mean theres nothing wrong with it, but if everyone else in the future is as well. then they get pale as a character. Just cuz rover's the mc doesnt mean everyone needs to gush over him/her.

Chixia in release version is a friend of ours too. She's not flirting with rover. Baizhi too. Yangyang is the only one from the trio showing some kind of love towards rover. @@samishah07

What most impressed me from 1.2 is Zhezhi, she's a great and funny character, still decided to skip her because of her play style, but yeah she's become one of my fav character.

1.2 first half is surprisingly fun and just chill, didn't expect Xiangli Yao to look so good in game and is actually a nice MC in the event, and we still have more events and stuff to do in the 2nd half. I really thought 1.2 would be a boring filler patch it had no reason to be this good of a filler. It feels like a calm before the storm that is 1.3

I think 1.2 is Yao's companion story in steroid. The way I feel playing it like... You know that anime episode that is not canon, because it is not writen in manga, but still very awesome to watch and well made.

It started relaxing, then suddenly someone write a s*ic*dal notes, and everything went dark all of sudden... then it goes lights up.., then suddenly chapter 4 the sonoro sphere scene from start to finish is chef kiss. Chapter 4 suddenly went disturbing with the illusions of the past, we see how Pascar starting to lose his sanity and ended up killing himself in the experiment. The battle along side Xiangli Yao is absolutely phenomenal. Then after all the mad shit happened, they hit us with celebration of Moonlight festival. I would say the plot and story are awesome.
It was so gooood 😭 after 1.1 it's like a breathe of a fresh air, like after the fighting scene all in all you can feel what the characters feel like finally they can have rest but ofc it kuro, can't for more characters dying.

If "filler" patches will be like that I‘m perfectly fine with more of them. In my opinion 1.1 was the best patch resonator wise, Jinhsi and Changli are so strong and beautiful characters and important for our story as well. But play wise I would even say 1.2 was the best patch so far. I really enjoyed every small interaction with our resonator friends and it was the perfect introduction for our two new resonators in this patch. It was so much more emotional and deep than I thought it would be. I know not every event can be detailed like that, but I hope there will be more like that. It was a ton of fun for me.
I can't stop taking screenshots of Zhezhi everytime she moves per frames, the most relatable character in gacha game genre in 3D.

Even my old laptop with rtx 3060 laptop gpu can now run at 4k with 60 hz and everything maxed in settings. It's amazing how big they have improved.
I got hooked by the combat in WuWa, but slowly everything else is starting to become a better selling point. Now they need to go back to making combat improvements, ToF is getting pretty boring these days

By the way. you should definitely do the new Depths of Illusive Realms event, you get to use Zhezhi a whole lot and wow its fun, especially as I have not managed to pull her yet, I lost my 50/50 sadly and got Jianxin again, karma I suppose for winning it with both Jinhsi and Changli ....

My only issue with 1.2 is mostly because I was too spoiled with the dynamic(?) camera angle and expressiveness we usually get in the dialogues on story quests. The side quests with characters in festival IMO suffered because of this. They still have the camera works during dialogue and the bodies are emoting. But, their faces are staying same, making it a bit weird since the camera sometimes zooming close to the face 😅. Prolly this expression stuff has something to do with the lack of voice.

I also noticed that when characters speak, their mouths move a bit more. Especially with Abby. Some of his mouth movements were a bit exaggerated and looked hilarious.
Zhezhi is beautiful. Really enjoyed her story and 1.2 in general. Kuro really nailing the story in addition to everything else.

zenless excretion part cutscene part is good but ingame dialogue is very flat
the dialogue in wuwa is very expressive and i see every patch it is improvingmy
I wish this effort was in the beginning of the game and I hope they revisit and remaster everything up to 1.1 in the future. 1.0-1.1 content is still in a rough state and need polish considering this is a new player’s starting point.
I made my partner play with me to try the new content and he deleted it an hour in because of you know what.

I've completed every new piece of content from WuWa 1.2 so far, including all the events and I can't wait for more! I really liked the new character's introduction, Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao, and Zhezhi's story. The Moon-chasing festival event was also pretty fun, although a bit too boring-grindy at the end. I wish there was more for me to do in the game, as sadly I reached the point that when I complete the new quests/storylines and events, there's nothing to do on the following days except for "dailies" or attempting tower.
I love how Zhezhi would adjust her glasses from time to time and the fact that you can actually see that the glasses falls of slightly which is why she is readjusting it. I'm really surprised that Wuwa is still small in storage size with all these character movements that aren't recycled from idle animations, and you would actually only see in conversation scenes.
Brutal Thoughts? This patch is peak , the story never disappoint and you don't feel like skipping ( even thought they have skip button ready for you) While compare to Hoyo games. It actually makes want to skip their story.
Also this patch is represent Mid-Autumn festival or aka Moon Festival. You can clearly see some details in this patch.
While some Chinese feels like Moon Festival+Lantern Rite in the same time but I don't mind lol😅

Honestly the 1.2 story felt amazing. The character expressions and interactions are beyond what I have experienced in any gacha game up to now. All the characters together and it felt like a real celebration. ❤❤❤ Like when I have to compare it to GI, not even a single one of the lantern rites or all combined can top 1.2 event.
I have played a tiny bit of the game at launch, but even I can see some great improvements. The story has seemed to improve somewhat, and the overall game seems much more polished. The voices aren't as grating, lol.
I hope the developers aren't severely overworked and can take a needed rest. They put a lot of qork into improving the game.
I would have liked a free Zhezhi. After losing 3 50/50's in a row I spent everything I have to get Zhezhi. Cute and beautiful character. And goodbye Shorekeeper. 😭😭
minor patch or not i had a blast playing the festival event and all those side quests. just by interacting with zhezhi during the event shows her cute side with the aloofness, introvert and all yet its enjoyable. havent done yet zhezhi story quest yet but i do know that kuro keeps cooking every patch. cant wait for major plot on 1.3 hopefully with black shores.
1.2 is essentially a way to get to know the characters more, to make us care about them more.
(so they can pull off a tragic scene in the future)

the charters sounded pretty good and rover actually sounded kinda.. stiff robotic lolol, the new male char felt pretty dam good to play on, was disappointed the side story for the char in the main story for the festival wasnt voiced but was nice.

Overall, I like that they're trying out some new storytelling ideas, but I agree that there needed to be more combat. I liked the concept of Zhezee's (Zeezhee? Zeeyzeey? I love it when English tries to spell other languages) story, but I feel like it would have been better if they split it up into smaller chunks since there was so much dialogue. Though it could be due to personal preference. I usually find characters with personalities like Chixia or Lingyang to be more endearing.
About the animations, I can't comment about how it compares to Genshin since I've never played it, but comparing it to ZZZ, I think it's more of a preference thing, since both games are trying to do different things.
With Wuwa, it's like watching a beautifully animated classic Disney or Ghiblee movie, but with ZZZ, it's like watching a balls-to-the-wall Puss in Boots or Studio Trigger movie.
Though personally, my monkey brain likes the flashy visuals, scene direction, and presentation of ZZZ more, but I can still appreciate Wuwa's more realistically animated and slower animations, which is something that ZZZ doesn't have.

Xiangli Yao main quest in the near end makes it decent, It's nice but not too much
But Zhezhi companion quest is great,I thought it's boring but the half of the story, especially the disguise part,investigating part i liked it
But for me the best part of that story is the near end,where there's this cutscene and boss battle where we got into Zhezhi painting
