Good video but Wraith on Wings might have changed things a bit.... I've always included this at the start of the game because it matches the burden sets we are supposed to include, no? Well but it isn't all that thematic to have it there really.
Yep legitimate mistake on my part. I overlooked it because it thematically makes no sense. I want to talk about the inclusion of that card in an upcoming episode of COTR.
@@COTRPodcast to be completely honest I've always wished this quest felt a little bit more like sneaking around too- there's an awful lot of big enemies if there's a Nazgul, especially for a stage in the book where you should really only have one hero. Good game besides though!
My friend gave me some Rohan-esque red and gold Chessex dice for this game and it's really helping with immersion. I would recommend it over the bright blue/green dice.
Infighting is a very thematic card for this quest and I am happy to actually see it in action here. Also you can see how much of a hero Sam really is: he beat this quest on his very first try. I wonder whether you may discard both Uruk Soldiers, the quest card only writes 'discard that copy', though you probably would have been able to handle another one of these. Yes, I am looking forward to seeing the last two quests in epic multiplayer mode, I have never experienced that before.
I actually thought about that as well. I couldn’t decide if the text meant each copy or I choose a copy. I don’t have a card in front of me, I think it says if there is another copy… so I resolve that for each copy?
One of the best thematic playthroughs I've seen! I'll admit I'd been curious since the start of the series to see how you'd overcome this quest with Wraith on Wings - I'd never been able to beat it, 1 or 2 players, with anything vaguely thematic and it always bothered me. Maybe I'll just house rule that burden out and finally be able to enjoy this one.
Thank you very much. Yeah actually we talked about this on the episode last night. I don’t think you can thematically beat it with that card in play and that really annoys me..
Mistake noticed: forgot Wrath on Wings in set-up. This basically makes a solo Sam deck impossible IMO and is not thematic at all (which is why I probably forgot to add it). IDK…that card shouldn’t be used in this quest. What do you think?
Could you do it with Sam, MOTK Rosie and Galadriel? From memory there's a bit in that chapter about Sam thinking he's an Elven Warrior, and maybe something about him thinking of his Box of Warth?
Yeah when my buddy and I played the campaign we got stuck on 3 quests and had to revisit them. This was one of them. Having 2 wraiths in staging makes a hard quest a lot harder
Where did you get the bottom playmat with the number track for threat and willpower? I've been looking for a nice plain mat with that but all I can find also have messy graphics with cards slots I don't want. Thanks!

I feel it would have been much quicker and easier if you had just used an eagles deck. Great stuff as ever!
Thank you! Maybe some eagles will soar into the next quest......
THAT is funny, Jonathan! Well played!
This campaign has been awesome to watch so far! Looking forward to the finale
Good game but you missed a big thing during setup you forgot to put the Wrath on Wings into the staging area.
I always forget that card. Thanks for watching the video buddy.
Awesome video. I cant believe its time for Black Gate and Mount Doom next week!

those sound awesome! So much bling...so little money lol

Good question, I probably would have to ask Caleb for a ruling.

@@marctimmins8806 that was going to be exactly what I did if I could not get this to work.
Shouldn't the Wraith on Wings burden start in the staging area as well? Or am I missing something?
You are correct, I missed that. I don’t think a solo Sam deck could win if I included it. Why is that card included with this quest?
