POST-IT NOTES lead to the most heart-breaking moment in Game Show History.
The people were offered a chance to come back, BUT they blew the questions that came later and would have lost it all anyway. This show was pretty hard to win money on. No way to walk away at any point
@@williamhaynes7089that’s good because they need greedy ppl on the show to shiw everyone that “go big or go home” is true
So the answer was post-it notes?
@barryyunus9335 yes and no.. it was post it notes, but the name had changed from sticky notes .. so if you use the date on sticky notes then it's the correct answer.. but the couple blew the final question abd would have still left with no money regardless.

The guy pushed so hard for the post-it note answer and you could see he really blamed himself for losing that much of the money. It's really sad to see that after that he was less assertive and more like 'I don't know, what do you think?' My heart really went out to him!
It shouldn't have been an issue since the couple missed the last question, so they wouldn't have won anyway.
@UCYVWNRYb9-dkr4-YlaTS9WA But they had to put all their money on one answer on the last question, and since they got it wrong they would still have walked away empty-handed, so whether or not Post-it notes was right ultimately didn't matter. Still a game show should do the research.
@@antonspivack3928 There is no guarantee they would have played the same way. With more money to spare, perhaps they would have spread it around a bit.
@@BenjaminWirtz They couldn't spread it around, in the last question they had to put it all on one answer.
@@antonspivack3928 thank you! WOULD NOT have made a difference! However, another can make a claim, since they lost BEFORE the final question!
Anyone else want to fall down the crevice?
Quack quack 😭
My roommate and I tried out for this show. The audition consisted of everyone there (about 14 people in all) talking their way through a question. Oh, did I mention that we all did this at the same time for the same question? 14 people shouting over each other in the waiting room of a production office. That's how they picked contestants.
No surprise the show was a trainwreck and the only people they cast were shouty caricatures who act like they drank a pint of Red Bull before going on stage.
You weren't shouting loud enough.
kinda just seems like you were salty you didnt get on
@@CloverPandaQ kinda just seems like you were one of the staff members of this trainwreck of a gameshow. 🤷🏻♂️
This game show was pretty unfair, unlike WWTBAM, it all comes down to a forced answer on the last question, and you lose all the money left if you have it wrong. Unlike WWTBAM, there was no safety nets, consolation prizes or walking away at all. Even if the Post Its flub hadn't happened, they'd still have walked away penniless.
I really want to make a rant video about viewing audiences drifting over to shows that are unfair to contestants again over WWTBAM which was basically the most generous and fair game show ever with Regis. You could walk with any amount, and they covered return flights and hotels for 20 people every episode! (Contestant and guest). Everyone should have told any Nielsen families they knew to watch WWTBAM no matter what haha.............
You weren't good enough. Take responsibility.
30:52- That is the most devastating part of the show.
Especially since it is was the correct answer making this episode having a big impact on the show getting canceled
It breaks my heart knowing that their answer was actually correct too
@@joestevens9973 True but after that they lost the other questions so it wouldn't had made any difference in the end
One thing I noticed on YT with those MDMD gameshow episodes is that YT already have all the episodes of the US version million dollar money drop. There really is only a season with 12 episodes so far as of 10/31/2019.
It's not about giving the right answer, it's about how you manage your money 😎
until the last question 100% or nothing
I really like the idea of this show. Great premise. But nearly all the questions are "tiered" and that gets a little boring. Which came first? Which came last? Which is the most expensive? Which is the most popular? It just gets bit dull when you can predict the question from the answers. I would love to see some difficult questions that just have definitive right and wrong answers.
Same. I've been watching a lot of the international versions of this show and the country that did it best was Spain. The set and music were much better and the questions were more specific. In which period of history coin-flipping was popular as decision-making? Which material conducts electricity better? Etc.
*You fail to realize that ALL the American/Canadian TV game shows are all POP CULTURE TV SHOWS...Plus the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of American/Canadian viewers Pop Culture shows are YOUNGER THAN MIDDLE-AGED, and so those questions about "Which is the most POPular?" etc are MOST APPROPRIATE when it's A POP CULTURE SHOW featuring contestants who YOUNGER THAN MIDDLE AGE*

Ah, yes, the infamous Post-It Notes gaffe. Can't believe I remember this. The sad part is that the show was cancelled before Gabe and Brittany could be brought back. What's really hilarious is that Kevin Pollak is no stranger to controversy, having hosted "Our Little Genius" before...
This show had the potential to at least last a full season. It was somewhat complex, even after having been dumbed down from the original British version, but still doable. But Fox just could not produce game shows to save their lives, except maybe for "Greed", a cult hit! And Endemol can't produce game shows in America to save their lives. -_-;
Even sadder than this was that twelve years later, this couple still hasn’t been given a shot at redemption. You’d have to be insane not to feel sorry for this couple.
@@AdamJ617 they lost it ALL in the end! Had the post it notes been the one they lost ALL THEIR MONEY ON then yes, but it wasn’t
Crazy Gameshow! The money gets really gone if put on a wrong answer. The couples must be nervous.
YOU HAVE EACH OTHER 😂😂😂
He should have trusted her instincts and listened
30:52 What sucks about this is that “Post-Its” WAS the right answer. The producers made a mistake.
how was the show wrong there?
@@dianathomas6894 3M test marketed a very similar product under a slightly different name a couple of years earlier, and people seem to thinks that counts. However the question was very specific and mentioned specific named products not similar products with a similar name.

the show admitted it was an error and gave them another chance to come back on another show. however as if they already didn’t have enough bad luck, the show was CANCELLED before they got another to come back
@@aaronaguilar9172 In a way it was moot as the rules of the show meant they could never walk away like on WWTBAM, they'd have lost it all on the final question anyway. I don't get why FOX kept thinking CRUELTY and PUNISHMENT was how to compete with the legacy of WWTBAM's blockbuster ratings under Regis. Am I the only person who thinks part of the reason WWTBAM was once so fucking big, was because it was FAIR? The Kimmel version is on hiatus but they did renew it for a second season, I think ABC is still undecided about what they're doing with it, and people called the show dead for a long time and it's kept trucking on. Because it doesn't have BS trick rules against contestants.
Their main issue with that question was that they were thinking what was invented first not which was sold first.
They had wrong answers as right...
Even then, some are questionable. That's why it was cancelled because they sucked at their jobs.
Thats fine this
Makes the blade go up 😂
I would not be able to handle the pressure of playing this game. I would have a panic attack

They tried to cheat the couple out of 800,000 dollars by saying, "Oh, you can try again." Like no, give them that money. They got the right answer, therefore they should have won.
Maybe they would've if it was the final question where it happened. However, because it wasn't, they would still have to continue playing according to the rules.
No, because if they had gotten it right they wouldn't have won, they would've just gone on to the next question.
@@alexanderisrael2715 But they did get it right. Whether or not they almost got it wrong doesn't matter, because they didn't.
@@lovefromwonderland In the end, though, getting the Post-It question right didn't matter, because they still had the 2-drop round left. As per the game rules, they *had* to leave one of the two drops clear, which means all the money they had was to be put on the answer that turned out to be incorrect.
@@Max1996YT They should have gave them the money on the answer that was right, then. I’m not taking arguments about this.

He is going to get post-it notes with 800k on them for the rest of his life
especially cuz it was the right answer and the show made an error
I feel like this could ruin a marriage
I remember this show. This moment @ 30:52 pretty much doomed it from the start.
I think network execs thought they could get away with a more cynical, stingy game than WWTBAM. They probably assumed schadenfreude would win out over WWTBAM's "Walk at any time" big money handouts.
That FINAL question was easy as HELL, because Brian Williams lacks emotion WHENEVER he reports the news, including 9\11; however Jon Stewart cried along of us on 9\11, and other sad news. To me it ALWAYS seems that Williams is reading a script, not reporting the news! Me and ALL of my friends believe that Stewart is a pretty trustworthy guy! I watched this that very night, and I knew the answer BEFORE the drop
There always is a script.
though, certain events may affect the outcome.
@@Poodleinacan That's true! What I mean is that in my opinion, Brian sounds very nonchalant; Jon, on the other hand, was very emotional! He was invested in the story.

honestly if i wasnt sure about the right answer i would put half the money on each of the two answers that im doubting instead of risking 90% of the money i rather risk 50% so instead of losing there 800k i would have lost 440k which is much smarter and less greedy , these guys took a big risk doint that 10/90% ratio , which is a horrible ratio to go for , literally going all in on a question isnt a smart idea at all

The producers clearly did not do their research. The Post-It Notes were first introduced in 1977, and then the Walkman two years later. If I were these couples, I'd sue Fox. This was so unfair! No wonder this show didn't last for very long. I feel bad for the contestants. 😞😓
Why did i even watch this?
Why was anyone even clapping during 30:52?
Because Gabe and Brittany got it wrong.
The first question was messed up.
It's wonderful! They have lost everything! You can see the eternal despair in their eyes! Their dreams have been destroyed! I am so happy for their misfortune! I like to laugh at other people's sadness, giggling in my flat! I am a happy man! Long live unhappiness, war, destruction!
Compare it to a Regis era WWTBAM and it's a whole different kind of treatment for contestants
30:52 What Happened?
If I unfairly lost over 80k because I picked the right answer to the question I would demand restitution or something like that.
But seriously that episode is hard to watch
I think suing them would be more appropriate. This isn't fair at all. The producers clearly didn't do their research. 🙃🫠🫠
