the actress who plays Maze was pregnant at the end of S2. this is a standalone episode to maintain her presence in the first half of S3. In fact, I understand that in this episode she was 5 months pregnant, that's why she wears loose clothing.
I have say the more I watch Lucifer, the more Mazikeen becomes my favorite character. It must have been a blast writing her scenes and for Lesley-Ann Brandt to act them . . .
3x04 is really peak annoying Lucifer. There are other episodes where he makes bad decisions for somewhat understandable reasons, but this episode he's just a really tedious asshole. That along with Ella's imbecilic take on Pierce makes it one of my least favorite episodes in the whole series. The only redeeming scene IMO is the hospital scene at the end.
The curse of a pool of writers is inconsistent characters (sometimes accidentally, sometimes because a writer has favourites). Having lots of ideas keeps things fresh but it can mean really odd interactions too.
@@irrelevant_noob My interpretation of the 'imbecilic' comment is that Ella IS very perceptive, and an intelligent character. Not just to be in her field, but to be so good at it. However, she thinks the Lt. is a good person because he handed her both options with her coffee? That doesn't tell you ANYTHING about a person's character. It tells ME that he doesn't know how she likes her coffee so he gave her both so she can sort it out herself. There are lots of possible ways Ella could have respect for the Lt. - for example, by how he treats animals, or how he supports his fellow officers. This was the stupidest way to treat Ella.
@@theaikidoka Oh i thought @butterw55 was talking about Ella's perspective of the Lt being into Chloe, not about him being a good person because of the coffee gesture. Thanks for explaining. :)
I really would like to see Lucifer throw some cash to his friends every once in awhile. He will spend 100k on a bottle of bourbon, throw 10k to Dan to spend on his vacation. Also, I am pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say we need 6-8 episodes a week. I really like your reaction to this show.
Idk why but I always assumed he paid for Dan to fly private & set him up with the finest hotels, excursions, restaurants etc. for his vacation as repayment.
Demons actually have no soul. I believe it doesn't mean they can't develop a soul. I believe through Maze's interactions with humans she may develop one.

15:07. You cut out my favorite line.
Lucifer: "Oh, I doubt that."
Chloe: "Don't touch my nose!"
This is the episode I thought of when Maze attacked someone in a previous episode and Sofie said I thought that was an animal.
1 hour, wow, I'm so happy 😂
As you say many times this episode 'Maze is beautiful', i agree but damn Sofie you're right there on the same level with her!! 🥰

I think it also that glow Sofie mentioned. I noticed it when I first watched this episode. I didn't know she was pregnant at that time.
@@GeekyGirl80 Spot on! I was thinking the same thing, then I remembered Brandt was actually pregnant . . .
Here's how Canada survived Maze's visit! 😂
I never tried chips with chocolate but smoked cheese with nutella was pretty good
What is a soul, right?
Maze's storyline is so cool! Great reaction as usual. Thank you!
Oh, Pierce is something of a mystery. I look forward to when that mystery ends for you.
Pierce is a 🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐

13:33 Yes, Maze (or rather Lesley-Ann Brandt, the actress) has a *certain* glow. Which is also the reason why she is absent in some episodes. 😉
It was a great move giving her an episode like this before she had to take time off. I really love her growth next season too.

Norm is everything Americans think of Canadians.
11:35 - 11:39 Love the Deckerstar silent communication here.
I’m not surprised the cold bothers Mazikeen. She is far from the hellfires of home.🔥
Oh no her reactions are catching up to where I am in the show. I need to HAUL A$$ so I can stay ahead oml

Don't mix the soul thing with the Buffy universe!

And your expertise for tagging Ella's perspective like that is... ?
