I had a neighbor who trained birds as a business. One day, one of his cockatoos decided to sit on the net while we were playing pool volleyball. The inevitable happened and he got hit by a net ball and ended up in the pool. The neighbor fished him out and the bird started walking back to his apartment. Then, he turned around and in a high pitched voice yelled..."F**k y'all!"
That neighbour taught him well.

@@davidbrown8763 That's what I was thinking, the bird only wants out of the cage and that's something that every bird keeper should do. Birds fly in the house all of the time but based on the fact that she told the bird that he/she had never flown before I wonder if the bird has honestly experienced the liberty of being cage free? I honestly hope so?

One year, my uncle said that he was talking to his next door neighbour, about her African Grey Parrot. She said her kids had clubbed together, the previous year, and bought her one for her birthday. It was something that she'd always wanted, and they got it for her as a surprise, and she was over the moon with it.
She told my uncle that she'd told her kids, all of them adults, that under no circumstances was they allowed to swear anywhere around the parrot, on pain of death! But were actively encouraged to try and teach it to say "Hello!"
For months, she said, they had kept up the "hellos" and "Pretty Boys", and the parrot said nothing, but they were determined to perceiver.
Then in the spring, she'd invited her father to come and stay with her for a few months, to get his strength back, since he'd just gotten out of the hospital, after beating cancer.
She said, every morning, she would get up, say "Good Morning" to the parrot, and providing it was nice, put the parrot cage out on the decking, for fresh air, and to hear the other birds. She would then make coffee, and start getting ready for the day ahead.
Every morning her father would come down, pour himself a coffee, and head for the patio deck to enjoy the fresh spring air. And every morning as he passed the parrot, he would raise his coffee mug to the parrot, and say "Top of the morning to ya!" in his Irish brogue.
Three months later, they were still trying to get the parrot to speak, without any success. They perceivered with it, as they were told, repetition was the key to speech. Although thanks to her youngest, it learned to do a really good wolf whistle, which the parrot was proud of, Mary, not so much!
And every morning Mary would put the parrot out on the deck, for a few hours, and every morning, her father would drink his morning coffee out on the deck.
Then came the day that Mary's father, was strong enough to go home, he said goodbye to everyone, including the parrot, and off he went. The following morning, my uncle could hear Mary ranting about something, and asked what was wrong?
She told him that for the last 9 months, she'd practically made herself hoarse day in, day out, over and over again, "Hello, Joey," "Pretty Boy, Joey," "Joey!" and nothing! Apart from the whistling. And what happened, today? I took him out on the deck, went in to get a coffee, and came back out here. The parrot starts looking around, presumably for my dad, as I came out, and says VERY CLEARLY...."TOP OF THE MORNING TO YA!" Complete with my dad's Irish accent!

Yeah they mimic the sounds they hear exactly. My moms friend had a grey. Around Halloween one year. They watched horror movies in the house everyday. Well one day it decided to scream bloody murder exactly how the movies did it. The cops got called and asked why a girl was screaming. She laughed and said wait a minute officer..she got her parrot and showed the cops a screaming bird 🤣
My Great Granny had a budgie called Jock, he was very clever. One day he flew out the window and went down to the shipyards in Port Glasgow. A few days later he was returned to my Great Granny by a worker because he would not stop repeating his name and address
