I am so glad I stumbled across this, it is so good! The fantastic settings and tasteful use of actual historical footage really help to make the story feel more realistic. Even though I do think they took an unnecessary artistic liberty with the death of the Kamel family, the superb acting throughout the film makes up for it. This doc has made me realize just how much Sadam was misjudged and i can tell that most of his later actions were all attributes of human nature. All he did was to try to protect his country especially knowing that he was surrounded by many enemies. With all these elements and also the battles in his family I feel he was pushed beyond any human limits, he had so much pressure on him hence he just bursted into a monster in the end all in aim to survival. So sad. Sometimes the UN before making certain moves should be getting the leaders involved for a special interview with the aim to get the truth of were they are standing coz Iraq has never been at peace after Sadam's death. just like Libya after Gaddafi's death.

Great video. I lived and worked in Iraq from 1986 to 1989, so this 'dramamentary' was of great interest to me. One particular memory I have - which was likely a lucky escape - was brought back to me by mention of the fact that Uday was in charge of the Iraqi IOC. The Iraqi IOC HQ was on Palestine Street ( probably still is) and adjacent to that building there is/was a small lake. I sometimes went to that lake on Fridays to waterski. On one particular Friday, we were all sitting at the lakeside when I noticed that the several Iraqis present got up and disappeared without a word into the small changing room/facilities building on the edge of the lake. On their return, I queried one of the other Brits present as to why they had suddenly disappeared. The reason? Uday had paid a visit to see what was going on but he did not emerge onto the lake side. So that was the day that I nearly got to meet Uday. I'm so so glad it was only 'nearly'! The guy was an absolute nutter. It was well known that he would cruise up and down the Al Mansour district in the evenings looking for women, so not really a great surprise that that was the scene of an assassination attempt.

To anyone who loved this, the movie the ‘Devil’s Double’ is absolutely magnificent. It’s through the eyes of the oldest psychopathic son Uday and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it more than twice. Impeccable acting and an absolutely intriguing story line and production. Starts from the beginning of the late 1980’s. I cannot say enough about the actor portraying Uday and his double! "Holy shit balls!" albeit new to me, is indeed a catchy little phrase with what I believe, possesses equal meaning conveyance and greater capacity for variable interpretation than my singular fictional reference. Be assured I shall incorporate "Holy shit balls!" into my meager vocabulary, however, I cannot guarantee that it shall ever come close to replacing my long time beloved moniker, Batman. Nonetheless I wish to thank you for the additional delightful little phrase with multiple uses in multiple settings. Well done. 👍👍

Wow.....they don't make great "movies" like this anymore......Well done, Folks, well done !!!!!!
Any ruler ought to think deeply of his people before his family and even himself.
That is absent in the entire muslim world
@@bibiayube677 You are correct

One special thing which helped me to enjoy listening this documentary very-very much, because every details were being introduced in this video is just as a ⭐Facts⭐. Without being used as a "Propaganda" (left or right extravaganza).or "Characterization" (good and bad guy). I firmly believe these are the important qualifications which helps people to enjoy listening all kind of documentary. I hop always informative programs such as this one is prepared in this manner. Special thanks to the producer and introducer. God bless!
Such are the moral ambiguities of power. The whole "good guys, bad guys" trope is.....inaccurate. It's often bad guys, more bad guys, and even worse guys.
Excellent. Thank you. New subscribed.
Award worthy really!
Totally agree. Great acting and great story. An unknown gem of a movie.
@@christophersmith7714some of the same actors too, the fashion coordinator and the guy uday kills at the party
Uday was played by Dominic Cooper. Awesome acting!
Where can I find it?
That movie was AWESOME! It showed us how crazy, sadistic and homicidal that family was!
These characters amazed me beyond imagination. The Saddam actor deserves my salute. 🙏 The son the daughter excellent actors. 🇮🇳
Uday was Daniel Mays a well known English actor....... Yeah, he was exceptional in presenting this exceedingly vi ious psychopath. chopath
@@terencethomas7599 did Uday really talk like that? 🤔 I’ve seen videos of him speaking it didn’t seem to have a lisp!

Propaganda by western media and leaders. Look at Iraq now. It will take 20 years or more to bring it back to the days when Saddam ruled Iraq. US invaded Iraq based on lies. Yes lies. They didn’t have weapons of mass destruction.
Just like 9/11 when the buildings were rigged by explosives. Whoever believes otherwise then the facts, needs to be researched. But many of you won’t.
I watched Uday in Iraq several times. I can assure that the British actor mastered the role and excelled in it
You been to Iraq during saddams rule!
@@donrump461 yes it was a nightmare on that time
@@tomtom7822 it was said that his rule is better than present iraq situation. Is that true ?

absolutely no before there's a one dictator one killer one psychopath one terrorists and now there's 1000 of them
I was in Iraq from 1981 to 83, those days I thought the regime was cruel, but now I feel Saddam was much better than the present rules
I am from India, worked in Taji gas plant, Baghdad, I love Iraq,
Was expecting a half ass low budget corny documentary movie but surprisingly the docu-film told a compelling story with pretty accurate events. Definitely a recommend watch.
I'm surprised that this was actually really good! Great documentary, good acting!
Omg I've been looking for this for years!!!!
A very good documentary with good actors acting which is explicit.
'When I was your age my dad used to let me shoot the prisoners' 😳

Great lines for his part of acting.🔥🔥🔥
@Just Me Actually Saddam did take his sons to torture sessions when they were still kids. That's fact.
I am Vietnamese and in our country the most important thing is to be grateful to the person who helped us. we were taught about world leaders who helped our people and country, including Mr. Saddam Hussein.
Mr. Hussein deserves to be compared with the greatest leaders in the world.
(certainly not including the leaders of China and the US)
Wow ! I highly recommend for those who lived in America
during the era to watch it. Well done. Thank you.
I am an american who was against the invasion of Iraq, I'm sorry

Please Admin I sent requested for "House of Saddam " Full movie for upload , Thanks.
The guy playing Uday deserves an Oscar.
Yes I agree Uday was a real psychotic Tyrant
The Ripped Reaper, The actor who plays in " DES " as the inspector, 'The bank Job " as Dave, " In the line of Duty " last season , and Uday in " Saddam Hussain documentary . He is an excellent actor and "DES" should be a big break for him. His name is Daniel Mays. He is a wonderful actor and should be recognized.
Greetings from Canada.
I'm impressed with this film so true and a sad tragic story for a royal family Saddam was blinded with his psycho son
He made them evil , they witnessed executions as children so that tells you why he was a psychopath, you can only go one way or the other if you are brought up this way , their mother was also cruel read about her too

Holy shit balls! That amazing acting came outta nowhere! I believed that dude was CRAZY... That entire cast was amazing.... But let's be real...Uday was on fire
Terveisiä Mr. Sizzlak, Holy Shit Batman‼️is a phrase to wit whose usage I am extremely well known. Well done.
