The head of Marvel wanted Lee to come up with a Superhero team for Marvel. And hence he thought up the Fantastic 4.
Just please don't say you want Danny Devito to play him, he'd be good 30 years ago, but he's too old now. I would suggest either Jack Black or Josh Gad.

I know its never said but I always thought the IT was actually a Reed Richards mutated instead of Ben Grimm...would make Doom's treatment of him make a whole lot more sense.

Have you ever come across - Xenacob Heyndrew Guide - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.
They're not boring, they just haven't been done justice on the big screen yet. They're supposed to be a family of superhero explorers yet their movies have them spend 90% of the runtime sitting around doing nothing.

I think in a few of the previous FF4 movies Dr. Doom was depicted fairly well. Hope they enter the MCU soon.
