Master Char Please stop making everything about zodiac signs, I’m sure there’s other people in the world that isn’t an Aries, Virgo or a Capricorn who feel the same way.
I love how you are still incorporating learning in Ziya's schedule, but also leaving a good amount of playtime (indoor and outdoor) for her! It's really easy to feel like you have nothing to do and lose track of time during all of this, so I love that you aren't letting it get the best of you and using your time to have fun and be productive!
Omg, that’s the same way I explained it to my son. I told him that the world is dirty and there’s a bunch of germs and they’re cleaning the world so we can’t go back to school and different places until the world is good and clean... I hope it’s soon
Raven, I am a teacher and I want to tell you that you are doing a fantastic job! Children need routine and without it, they become stressed. Your schedule closely parallels what teachers set for their classroom. You can also do interactive activities like videos with learning songs.Kids love these. I now teach 18 and older students but you are doing excellent. You are a great mother!
This is exactly how I picture being a mother. By nature I am a organize freak. So I would totally be the calm, patient , organized mom. And teach my child to also engage in chores fit for their ages. Raven you are an amazing mom. After watching your mourning routines with Ziya gave me baby fever🥰

You’re so intentional and connected in your parenting. Ziya is so blessed to have you to pour into her and build her confidence. Love watching y’all do creative learning and interactive activities. ❤️❤️
Raven you should do a game called "Where's Bougie" where we have to comment a time stamp every time we see him in the background during your vlogs lol. Maybe one day it can be a giveaway idea where the first person to get all the timestamps right wins.
This video inspired me! 4 months later, I have finally implemented it with my kiddo. We even watch your old homeschooling video of Ziya counting out blocks as a reward!
As a therapist who works with kids golden rule is ADULTS DONT ARGUE WITH KIDS. You'll just get into a power struggle and will end up getting frustrated and will feed into the negative behavior.
I dont have kids.but I've had to work close with children and I've had to pray to all saints to not lose my cool.ive had moments where I had to raise my voice and I feel bad but nothing else was working.what would you recommend as a therapist?
Lex Burgos I’m no Therapists but my sister who works in a daycare(it is a part time job as she works on getting a degree in education ) but what she does is she ask the kid to do whatever she is asking them to do. She first says it in a calm voice, if they don’t listen she says ,”I said to do this please do” if the kid still doesn’t listen she brings them to the naughty corner.(This is when the struggle begins) She brings them to the naughty corner and says,”I said to do this and you didn’t listen” (depending on the age of the child is how long the sit in the naughty corner for example if the child is 4 years old 4 minutes ). If the child doesn’t agree to sit she grabs them and says,” you need to sit” Every time they get up you add more minutes. The second time they get up she says I said sit with a firm voice. If they get up she continues to sit the child down on the third attempt and the attempts after that she says nothing. This allows the child to know that they will have consequences for not listening and they will agree to these consequences . Once their time is done. She walks up to them and says “I put you in timeout because you didn’t listen. Have you learned from your mistakes “ Then the child gives her a hug and says “sorry” . Then the child does what they were told to do. It takes a lot of effort but it allows the child to know they won’t get away with disrespecting adults or not listening. It also can help children from disbehaving so much.
I love how you explained to Ziya what is going on in the world without scaring her. I’ve been beating around the bush a little with my 4 yr. old but the “waiting for them to clean it up” is genius 🙌 I’m using that lol 💕
I'm 22, and never quite had an appreciation for all you do with Ziya until recently. I work with 3 six year olds whose parents need help managing the online schooling that has come about with this pandemic. I basically come in and try to maintain some structure and keep school as enjoyable as possible for the kiddies, while also allowing the parents (who are working from home as a result of COVID as well) to work and have as productive a day as possible. After spending 5 days a week with small children, I really understand the thorough job you have done with raising Ziya. You do SO MUCH and are so good at it. What a great mom and person you are. I really admire all you've accomplished, and hope to take some pages from your book as I grow into my adult life and start my family- I'm not looking to have kids yet, but when I do, I pray I am able to manage it and provide all the love and care that you have with your daughter. All the best Raven! and good luck with this pandemic.
You should mix up the alphabet cards. Sometimes they just end up saying the letters in order. (Even though we all know Ziya's a genius who knows her letters and sounds)
Raven is absolutely right about ignoring tantrums and praising desired positive actions. And she is doing an amazing job especially with creating a list/routine that both her and Ziya can see and refer to. As a therapist we want to decrease their behaviors and to do so we take note of these: Antecedent: what happened before Behavior: tantrum, meltdown or aggressive behavior Consequence: what happens after The key is to figure out what triggers the behavior and by Using strategies like priming, first and then etc... you will avoid the behavior before it even happens. Keep in mind kids will definitely test you, I am sure ziya doesn’t through a tantrum at school before lunch but she was trying to see if the tantrum would get her out of lunch at home. Remember this is a change in the little ones routine as well so it’s an adjustment to us all.
As a BCaBA from Houston, I also think Raven is doing a great job as well! Perfect description of terminology in layman’s terms (she could definitely sign up to be an RBT!) and did you catch that descriptive praise while using the water coloring activity on the princess? Yes ma’am! A natural. Which therapy clinic do you work for?
Its great how you redirect her and correct her without yelling at/threatening her or punishing or making her feel guilty for saying no or protesting. Letting children express themselves is important and letting them learn how to vent anger properly is very important and often overlooked. Edit: for watercolor (as a watercolor painter) even though Ziya is like four years old, it makes it so much more enjoyable if you have actual watercolor paper. They make super cheap ones for children to use and tear up and alla that. Not to say you need it, just a suggestion!!

Ah! So obsessed with your videos, been watching since you all were in the old house. Great job with Ziya, she is upset smart for her age. I’ve gotten so many tips from you!!
I'm very familiar with special playtime. I have two grandchildren with Autism that I have custody of. It's not just for children that have a diagnosis or an extreme case. I totally agree with you that there is no wrong time to talk to a therapist and get tips and suggestions to better help deal with problems and issues BEFORE they become major. You are a magnificent Mom! What a great example you are setting. You're a lot like me in that I seek out every opportunity for my Grands to be the best THEM they can be. Playing with children or their level helps to remind us as parents who we're dealing with; Little people! Not adults. It helps to lower the expectation and our patience becomes greater and so does our grace.
I love how you’re continuing Spanish with Ziya! I am 22 and have been thinking about having a child within 4 years and really like how you parents, you definitely will be my inspiration 😊
Just so you know you dont have to be a specific age to be a "Good mom" You can be an amazing mom at any age. And with this Pandemic I hope it's not the end of the world. Sadly it has taken lives and is ruining lives. But I just wanted to let you know that I'm 22 as well but I am a Mom I don't let my age affect me being a Good mother.
Aleesha Renea I never said you have to be a specific age to be a good mother. But I understand where you’re coming from. I hope you and your family are safe during this crazy time!
You are doing so well with one child and watching this has relieved many of my concerns because I have 5 and my day pretty much looks like this. Much more noisy of course so i cant just ignore bad behavior. I've discovered the belt has a mind changing anointing however so they are great at following directiins.
I would say the best thing to do at your outdoor time is to go for a walk. Even if it is just around the block and do some form of I spy game with her would be fun to do
I don’t know how people could give you a thumbs down you are a single mom who dose a great job and you have inspired me to go do what I love and be my self
Her Spanish is great! I’ve been teaching myself ASL just to do it and expand my skill set. It’s definitely beneficial to learn young because my old self be forgetting 🤣
I have a son with ADHD/ODD. He has meltdowns sometimes. I would give him attentions and it happened more often. I started completely ignoring him. He would be sitting right next to me. Complete ignored. Now he knows to chill out then we can talk and I will praise him and sometimes reward him somehow. That definitely works.
I would LOVE to see a parenting video with the tips you're learning. I'm a single mom of 3 kids (ages 8, 6, 5) and I'm struggling. they are very good kids (obviously they still have tantrums) but I'm going through some internal stuff and its affecting my parenting. I still do all the things they need, food, bathing, hugs, kisses, etc. but I'm just not putting in my all. My patience is very short and then I feel guilty which makes my feelings worse. I want to be the best mom I can be.
Stephanie Martin my mom was just like you and i suffer from emotional and mental issues till this day because she kind of mentally checked out once my younger brother was born just the necessities like food and clothes was all she did for a while i would say maybe try to get a break pay someone to watch them or get counseling it would really help your kids in the long run!
I love how you spend time with your daughter. Like, how you help her homeschooling and helping her understand the subject.❤❤💕😊Btw your cat is so cute. ❤❤🥰🥰
Honestly though props to you for being a single mum, my mum was single all my life and your doing amazing I have so much respect for you your doing a amazing job And since I had a single mum I depended on my brothers to play with me and they did, my mum would also try to make time for me single mums are heroes. I felt this lol, this is my 3 year old
I'm very familiar with special playtime.
Me and my daughter have so much in common with Raven and Ziya. My daughter tells me everytime we sit down and eat together "cheers" i love it!!!!💖💖💖💖💖
I just love how ziya said cheers
I love how you’re continuing Spanish with Ziya! I am 22 and have been thinking about having a child within 4 years and really like how you parents, you definitely will be my inspiration 😊
Just so you know you dont have to be a specific age to be a "Good mom" You can be an amazing mom at any age. And with this
Pandemic I hope it's not the end of the world.

You are literally the best mom. And your daughter is literally so adorable
Raven your such a good mom I can’t believe it!
See that’s why I can’t do animals, if it hop on my dishes that’s it! 😂😂😂
I'm the same way
yeh , cat all up in the dishes grosses me the hell out. I cant eat at houses with ppl who have cats.
My son John Michael is also 3 and we are having the same issue with him always wanting to eat snacks and not real food.
Evita’s Light same with my 3 year old. And now she’s inspired my 19 month old, who was previously a phenomenal eater, to do the same 🙄
It’s just amazing to me how much kids LOVE TO LEARN!!! 😍💛
Even if it is just around the block and do some form of I spy game with her would be fun to do
I wanna be a mother like raven in the future ;-; raven is one of the best moms i know.
@Fluffy Ninja she was just giving her perspective on something raven mentioned in the video, jeez
SimplyCreativeAshley I am not a mom, I am not even a teenager but this seems logical LOL
Hayleigh Tarling WHO ASKED SWEETIE HUH YALL HEAR SUM???
I remember those days when mine was a toddler NOW she’s a whole teenager and that’s a whole other beast lol
LEIHA SAVAGE girl yes, I’m sick of my teenager lol
BEAUTY & BEYOND lmao 😆
She is probably the best mom I’ve ever like seen because she keeps her cool and doesn’t act stressed at all! Lysm!!💕stay safe
I just know she’s gonna be a model when she grows up
I would LOVE to see a parenting video with the tips you're learning.
How she explained it was more then perfect!
I love how you spend time with your daughter. Like, how you help her homeschooling and helping her understand the subject.❤❤💕😊Btw your cat is so cute. ❤❤🥰🥰
Honestly though props to you for being a single mum, my mum was single all my life and your doing amazing I have so much respect for you your doing a amazing job
And since I had a single mum I depended on my brothers to play with me and they did, my mum would also try to make time for me single mums are heroes. They deserve so much love. I honestly am so proud of you. This makes me always tear up. ❤️ stay safe you two 👏❤️
