So good, a visit to the wall was never in the book for Cregan and Jace but it’s change I welcome. It feels so significant especially considering Aegons prophecy though I’m assuming Jace hasn’t had it passed to him yet. Loved this. Cregan talking of the Alysanne and Jaeharerys and their dragons refusing to cross the wall, (some theories suggest the magic in the wall or they feel the presence of the Others and are afraid), such a good call back and representation of ASOIAF lore, I hint of retconning the later seasons of GOW well for me personally. “Do you think my ancestors built a 700ft wall of ice to keep out snow and savages?” God I loved that line and really it should have been asked more after even hinting toward the Others. And then to hear that familiar eerie music, I got such goosebumps, even watching the scene looking beyond the wall you don’t know what is out there but I reckon you get the feeling there is something dark out there in the cold and dark. My favourite part of the episode all honestly
It makes me wonder if the Starks’ belief in the Wall was reinforced or rejuvenated by Aegon’s prophecy - Torrhen knelt because Aegon shared his vision. The Targaryens never meddled in the North, just let the Starks do what they do best in the North. The Starks remained loyal until Aerys. But after Aerys, any Stark who might have known about the prophecy was dead.
The Stark music and the patience to have the crow fly through fjords before casting the camera over Winterfell, Cregan's delivery, the genuine fear of Winter, and everything it brings, the reference to Vermathor and Silverwing fearing whatever lay north of the wall. 90% of what I think is 'perfection', the other 10% is, 'imagine they kept this care for season 8'.

I love how this show is being far more book accurate than GOT ever was. For example Ice being on Cregan's back. The lore with Queen Alysanne was good too. She loved the watch.
Maybe one day in the future, when the book series is long done and and we're all old, A Song of Ice and Fire will get a visual media representation worthy of it.
If only the stark and the targs exchanged notes. Cregan really seems to be very dutiful. Like the first Aegon, Cregan knows that his family’s rule is because of a bigger threat.
1:04 this monologue was a great throwback to the early seasons of GOT, which did such a good job of establishing an ominous atmosphere surrounding the north of the wall and the white walkers. Shame that the anticipation of their attack was more engaging than their actual attack but at least we get another profoundly chilling monologue hyping them up.
When I see the scenes that include Winterfell and the Wall, iconic settings in "Game of Thrones", I start to think about how season 7, especially 8, could have been if they had taken the time and dedication that we've seen so far in "House of the Dragon".
The night king was out there active you can just tell in and out of “sleep” night king knew he couldn’t strike yet as many dragons and armies could take him down plus much more Valyrian swords on the scene.
"His grace stood at this very outlook and watched as their dragons, the greatest power in the world, refused to cross it." Even when they don't appear anywhere in the story, the threat of the White Walkers looms. You can feel their presence. A shame the knowledge Cregan had eventually become nothing more than old stories for his descendants.
I’ve heard people complain about Cregan needing his army to defend against the wall because no one knows the white walkers exist. But remember it’s almost 150 before Game of Thrones. The legends would be stronger and maybe the knowledge the Starks had was lost over time.
Except for Robb the fkn idiot! He is the reason half his family were killed and changed what happened in the story. I know it was at the authors behest but… Robb Stark is a fkn idiot! lol
i notice that jace is talking then stop when he see the vast of land beyond the wall. nice touch. i also like that cregan is smarter then anyone. he realize that you don't build something that big and powerful only to keep the weather and wildlings out.
I really do believe the Starks had passed down knowledge of the reason the wall was built by Brandon the Builder and why they had ensured the wall was manned at all times. And that the reason is why Torhhen Stark bent the knee as Aegons Dream of the horror to come from the North matched what had been passed down. The knowledge was lost when Ned a second son, inherited Winterfell as Rickard and his heir Brandon were killed at the same time.
1:06-1:38 I love how you can faintly hear the theme used for the White Walkers in the background. Not only is it beautiful but it just adds a new level of foreboding for what to come in the future.

Cregan Stark carrying ICE on his back is such a cool detail 🔥
I like that they had him carrying ice on his back
Too bad that Ice is way too small. Google "ned stark holding ice", you'll see how freakish huge that weapon was. This thing on Cregan's back is a toothpick.

Hearing the Yorkshire accent in shows like this never gets old
it is really a win win for cregan actually. winter is coming. so he will have food problem. by sending his men to south, he will solve his food problem because there will be less mouth to fed. and he will honor his fathers oath.
Cregan looks like what happened if you have Robb's bone structure minus the beard with Ned's signature hair and also Jon's voice and mannerism.
When Cregan read the letter and looked Jace in the eyes, I felt cold shivers down my spine.
Now that is a Stark. I've missed them! That delivery was *chef's kiss*
More. Of. This. PLEASE, HBO!! We need to see these two future friends interact more!!!
Sweet summer child
they’re best friends, they also make a bloood pact
I think that was it, dude. I don't think they will interact again.
Tell me you haven’t read the books without telling me….
They won’t see each other again
The Stark music and the patience to have the crow fly through fjords before casting the camera over Winterfell, Cregan's delivery, the genuine fear of Winter, and everything it brings, the reference to Vermathor and Silverwing fearing whatever lay north of the wall. 90% of what I think is 'perfection', the other 10% is, 'imagine they kept this care for season 8'.
For such a short scene he’s so badass I hope we see more of him but I feel like this will be it
Wait, that’s the actor who played young Uhtred in the last kingdom! Dude gets to be the lord of the north in two shows lol. Love it.
When they were climbing the steps to the ledge, it looked like Ned Stark and Jon Snow walking side by side from the pov.
Two ancestors
When you realize that Cregan probably handed him an extra thousand men out of respect for his recently deceased brother.
Can't wait until the hour of the wolf. But won't be till the last season.
House Starks finest moment.
The last episode
@@italianmiltyfriedman6264 the HOTD book readers are the worst. They throw spoilers out there without warning just to show off that they read a book.
@@officialthomasjames The worst part is they are often wrong too. Show has diverged massively from the books when it comes to key scenes and character motivations.
@@officialthomasjames Dance of the Dragons dialogue in GOT and history and lore videos have been around for a decade. People aren't going to stop talking about it just because there's now a show.
It's not the same as when GOT came out.
I'll be forever grateful to hbo for casting Tom Taylor as Cregan Stark. HE'S PERFECT. Everything screams STARK, especially his deep voice 🥵🥵🥵🥵to whoever complained and is still complaining about him being too young for the role, remember that Cregan is 21 when the dance of the dragons starts, and Tom Taylor is 23, so he's more fit than any fancast 40-45 year old man
P. S I felt so much chemistry between them. It's evident that Harry Collett and Tom Taylor are friends irl
notice the very specific music at the critical moment of talking about "others" than winter and the savages. masterful
Obsessed with Cregan
So I'll point out the fact that we just saw the ancestral sword, Ice😊😊
It's so nice to see ICE on screen again
I love how this show is being far more book accurate than GOT ever was. For example Ice being on Cregan's back. The lore with Queen Alysanne was good too. She loved the watch.
The Sword in the back adds so much. Man looks like a Elden Ring character
Every time they talk about the existential danger in the North, my heart sinks remembering what we got 5 years ago.
Maybe they did - that’s why Torrhen knelt and the Targaryens never meddled in the North until Aerys/Rhaegar.
"Their dragons, greatest power in the world, refused to cross it". Gives me the chills.
Dude had Ice on his back like an absolute G
I can’t wait for the Hour of the Wolf. Cregan marches into Kings Landing like a true a winter Storm.
"Will they fight?"
"Well there's this one called Roddy the Ruin..."
Cregan Stark has only been on screen for about 3 minutes but I would die for him.
"they will fight hard, like Northerners" IM ALREADY OBSESSED HOUSE STARK WE MISSED YOU
When I see the scenes that include Winterfell and the Wall, iconic settings in "Game of Thrones", I start to think about how season 7, especially 8, could have been if they had taken the time and dedication that we've seen so far in "House of the Dragon".
Non-book readers have no idea how hard this guy would absolutely clap Aemond, Daemon or Criston in a fight.
Best of his era
Seriously? God damn
@@HoodlumMediaYeah, Cregan is a different breed.
A thousand greybeards = The Winter Wolves.
The night king was out there active you can just tell in and out of “sleep” night king knew he couldn’t strike yet as many dragons and armies could take him down plus much more Valyrian swords on the scene.
Crazy that this is 200 years before GOT, Ned’s Great Grand-Grand Father wasn’t even born yet
I was hoping to see more of their friendship. We basically only got 5 minutes.
Same, I was looking forward to Jace's time in the north. Jace and Cregan becoming like brothers and jace falling in love with Sara Snow.
“There is only one war that matters, the Great War”.
This scene, the acting, the music, the tingles, the rapport, the way the dialogue flows and zings so naturally. It's brilliant.
Anyone else notice he Cregan had the same type of tone and word pronunciation as Jon Snow lol
Yorkshire accent
You’re American aren’t you?
They're from the north. So they have a northern accent. Haven't you realised by now that the majority of the actors in GOT and HOTD are British?
@@HoodlumMediayes.
I loved the cold open to Winterfell, the music instantly took me back to the Heydays of game of thrones.
Cregan is a true stark
Brilliant!. The way the way Tom Taylor recites the lines of Cregan Stark sounds like poetry!
Ice on the back goes hard
Not only the accent, but the voice is a bit similar to Jon's. I'm almost certain they did that on purpose. ❤️
guys you have no idea how much of a gigachad cregan stark is
It was awesome seeing the wall and winterfell again.
When Cregan Stark said, " Like Northerners.." got goosebumps 😮😮
I’ve heard people complain about Cregan needing his army to defend against the wall because no one knows the white walkers exist. But remember it’s almost 150 before Game of Thrones. The legends would be stronger and maybe the knowledge the Starks had was lost over time.
I'm already obsessed with Cregan.
While honor can be House Stark's weakness, it is also their strength. When a Stark promises something, you simply believe it without needing proof.
The Starks are truly Honourable ❤😍😍
Was SO pumped to hear of Cregan hint to the Winter Wolves!
Carrying Ice like that ? What a chad
OMG I was shaking and tearing up during this whole sequence. Especially when I realized that sword on his back is ICE!!
The voice of cregan Starc 🗿🗿🗿🗿
I just want to see Cregan do his part during the Hour of the Wolf! 🐺
1:06-1:38 I love how you can faintly hear the theme used for the White Walkers in the background. Not only is it beautiful but it just adds a new level of foreboding for what to come in the future.
Because of Ned's loyalty and honestness We see every Stark differently.
my old boy Ice !
And to think the threat this wall was built and manned for all those years to keep out would be beaten in a single night. Crazy stuff for sure.
Whoever plays cregan stark is perfect. From every aspect from voice, look, everything he is a perfect stark like god damn I want to see him more. Just way he represent himself makes himself a badass
they have a great chemistry together❤
What does it keep out?
Ned Stark: Probably Wildling Ambush.
