Hey man! Lovely video as usual. Couple of things which I feel could be mentioned for everyone's benefit :- 1. VW G 052 512 A2 is the recommended Manual Transmission Gearbox Oil. If you cannot source VW, then please go for LiquiMoly or Meguin (A LiquiMoly Sub-brand) 75W-90 2. Viewers might accidentally strip the Fill Plug if they use too much force while going-clock wise on the Fill Plug which can cause issues. So viewers please understand the video properly. He recommends it only for making the Fill Plug Opening simpler. 3. The video could be relabelled to be specific for a VW Audi Skoda MANUAL Gearbox as the DSG Procedure is not so straightforward. 4. Great video man. Very helpful. Please also consider making a video on the differences in this ZIC Oil and the Oil you will be using later after Lockdown. Also, would recommend the better gear oil for the Remap we spoke about :P 5. If possible, show us difference between Old and New Oil Next time :)
Sir i will definitely update the community about the vw genuine spare which is indeed VW G052 512 A2 , but i did it just to show the process , as in lockdown that was the only fully synthetic oil available , And going clockwise on filler plug is just to break loose the bolt out of its thread , as once it started to move , it will be alot easier to open it Yes dsg is much more complex and you also have to change dsg filter I will show Diffrence in community through a short video , but as you asked 1. Gear slots much effortlessly 2 . Costing grinding noise almost gone 3. Clatter reduced on load (can't confirm it , maybe my mind playing tricks on me 🤣)
Hello, very nice and useful video. Although on my recent reasearch online and on various forums I have found out that VW G 052 512 A2 has been superseded by VW G 055 512 A2 for the MQ200 and MQ250 gearbox. Thereby making 5551 more easily available
Hi Sujoy, which DSG great box are you referring? Is it DQ200 dry clutch system or DQ250 wet ? I'm using Ameo TDI DSG, I checked with the service center and they are reluctant to change DSG mechatronics oil or gear oil saying that it is sealed for life and vw doesn't recommend to change it!!

Hello, Even my manual says "filled for live", not all we are agree (Skoda O3, 1.6 tdi, 2014 model 5E).- However, service manual says that the oil level should be over the opening where we fill in the oil (assuming leveled car). That means man should "overfull" somehow the gearbox and making closing the plug difficult. My manual transmission started to make unusual noise at cold winter and was opened to replace 4 bearings under guarantee. On the work description I got 3 liters of oil was used by the garage (official skoda dealer) to fill after drying. Cross-check with manual says only 1.9l is needed... still driving it about 40k km after that, trough slightly hard to operate comparable what was it before visiting the garage. As a man who maintain the car alone and have some extended mechanical knowleague I am confused what is right and what wrong here...
Sir i understand the confusion, but i don't think there is any fluid in the market which can be proved good for the lifetime of vehicle , as oils have to go through the tough situations of continuous heating and cooling cycle and also pressure which ultimately change the chemical composition of the fluid , and that change in chemical composition is exactly the thing which we are trying to avoid As per entropy everything in this world starts with their best condition and as it ages it goes towards its worst . So i don't believe in these lifetime fluids and just change them . Better safe than sorry

@@yourDIYneeds , Thanks, I used the reverse light switch on the top, under air filter, easy access to remove it by 22mm spanner. same 10mm hose and funnel made the work. did not touch the fill plug, but needed to remove the pin holding inner parts after blocking the gears with the mechanism already given there (as described in the service documentation). and latest recommendation for 0A4 gearbox is to fill in 2.2-2.3L oil, perhaps because of the 12 deg tilting of the gear box comparable to previous models keeping fill in plug unchanged.
@@lzlb5927 Correct. I put comment yesterday on this site with more info, but seems it was removed ? Anyway, there's the tilting as you said, and correct level is above the fill in plug. In general, what you drain out and measure the amount, that amount put back. For repaired gear boxes (completely dry of oil), the fill for MQ250 5speed is 2.1L , for 6speed 2.4L (that's why you have 3 liters from dealer, they needed to open 3rd bottle also). Interesting to see another case , where repaired gearbox with OEM oil, shifting is not what it used to be. Seems aftermarket OEM oil still not the same as factory fill. Especially on cold.

Sir if it feels like it's jammed , it's not an oil issue , yes Changing the oil will help but not completely . And interval of 60k kms is good for a transmission fluid change And sir if you are using liqui moly then you are already busing the best
Sir vw uses 75 mono grade , but as my experience , multigrade is better , as everything expands when heated , so increased tolerances are better taken care of

Hello there. I have a VW VENTO PETROL 1.6mpi MT 2014 model. I am noticing vibrations at around 1100-1200rpm when the vehicle is moving and this is happening irrespective of the gear it is in. There is no any vibrations at that rpm range when it is idle. Pls give me solution.

Sir yeti was a import and in limited no. The best way is to get your manual for exact details of the capacity of gearbox ( 1.6 Ltrs most probably ) and transfer case Grade of oil is 75w90 for gearbox and for transfer case and differential

I visited ASC and noted these points, but they are reluctant to do the oil change. But if the customer requires to change, they will do it but the issue is it may affect the warranty. 1L oil cost 1000Rs only at service center
Yes sir , but check the grade as per the owner's manual for the correct oil weight , if too thin of oil is used then rear differential tends to make a grinding noise
what i mean is, my suzuki carry is a rear wheel drive MPV, that requires API GL4 80w -90, 75w-90 and 75W-85. My problem is ZIC states that their 75W-85 gear oil is specifically designed for front wheel drive vehicles.
Sir because , in FWD configuration , both the gears and differential uses the same fluid for lubrication , but in a rear wheel drive transmission is in front and differential is at the rear axle , so if it states API GL-4 then it will do just fine on zic

I have 2011 1.2 Comfortline Petrol Polo , I am facing gear harder issue , sometime when i change the Gear its little hard to change , so please suggest Which grade i have to use for gear oil .
Sir grade is 75w90 for transmission , But fir harder shifts you need to calibrate the shifter and lever and lubricate then as well for best results . Video is planned on this topic as well , more likely it will be next to next video
And believe me this oil is really very good. I am using this in my Eon. Previously was using Castrol's 80w90 after which the gear shifting became much harder and rough. Would kindly request and suggest you to promote this brand and spread awareness so that people stop using 80w90 grade gear oil in there FWD transmissions.
Sir it's important to use the right GRADE of Viscosity and Additives as instructed by your owners manual. As long as the Gear Oil meets specifications, one won't run into issues
Sir grade is never the full story There are alot of things which decide that a gear oil is good or not like , anti friction additives , heat taking ability , cold temp , Behaviour , GL4 or GL5 compatibility ( acc. To the requirement of gearbox) One gear oil which is good for a specific manufacturer may not be good enough for another manufacturer. Oil grades just tell you viscosity of oil in hot and cold climate

Alot of people just randomly buys any grade of gear oils without knowing or asking for any specific spec... That makes me sad because now there a lot of demand for the cheap mineral based 80w90 grade gear oils and not the 75w90 grade synthetic ones... And people may not realized that they are ruining there transmission with a mind set of increasing its life.... And mechanics are least bothered to know...

Sir ideal time is 3 yrs or 60-70k kms , regardless of the fact , if oil is mineral or synthetic , synthetic just helps to provide better lubrication due to its homogeneous particle size .

The best way is to get your manual for exact details of the capacity of gearbox ( 1.6 Ltrs most probably ) and transfer case

Yes sir , but check the grade as per the owner's manual for the correct oil weight , if too thin of oil is used then rear differential tends to make a grinding noise
what i mean is, my suzuki carry is a rear wheel drive MPV, that requires API GL4 80w -90, 75w-90 and 75W-85. My problem is ZIC states that their 75W-85 gear oil is specifically designed for front wheel drive vehicles.
Sir because , in FWD configuration , both the gears and differential uses the same fluid for lubrication , but in a rear wheel drive transmission is in front and differential is at the rear axle , so if it states API GL-4 then it will do just fine on zic

Sir it's important to use the right GRADE of Viscosity and Additives as instructed by your owners manual. As long as the Gear Oil meets specifications, one won't run into issues

There are alot of things which decide that a gear oil is good or not like , anti friction additives , heat taking ability , cold temp , Behaviour , GL4 or GL5 compatibility ( acc. To the requirement of gearbox)
One gear oil which is good for a specific manufacturer may not be good enough for another manufacturer.
Oil grades just tell you viscosity of oil in hot and cold climate

Alot of people just randomly buys any grade of gear oils without knowing or asking for any specific spec... That makes me sad because now there a lot of demand for the cheap mineral based 80w90 grade gear oils and not the 75w90 grade synthetic ones...
