I'm 53 years old and have loved and heard this song hundreds of times... This morning the lyrics that I could recite so easily for decades slapped me in the face....They define many aspects of my existence now.......
@@stephenr9194 I'd say compared to the trash that is being produced today, this is perhaps the best end of a song in music history. Big words I know... :-)
I always dug the guitar at the end of this to. Seems almost Peter Frampton style something along the same vein that he would've played on Frampton Comes Alive.
Yesterday I went to the theater and saw Kenneth Lonergan's play "Lobby Hero" and it starts with this great song... I think this Supertramp's album (Breakfast in America) is one of the best ever written... Greetings from Mexico...
I was looking for anyone who heard the song from SPN! I knew the song as a kid and for a decade I couldn't find it until the night Goodbye Stranger aired and my soul left my body
Not sure why exactly but I just got out of a breakup against my will. Just I find a feeling of peace, especially when I talked to her again because she knew her faults "Goodbye stranger, it's been nice. I hope you find your paradise."
I heard this song when I was in grade school. Loved it then, love it now but it's the movie I, Tonya that brought me here right now. It's playing on one of HBO chs. One of the cool things about that movie, besides the story itself is my Brother and his family lived near the mall in Oregon where she use to stake at. They saw her quite a bit. Took me back to the few times I went to visit them/went to that mall...
I have old friends, that I really liked, but about half of them now want nothing to do with me. Either cause of anger, or are trying to leave the past alone. I love this song because it can be passive aggressive, and be completely heartfelt and truthful for this moment in life.
what a tragic song. it literally tells my whole story of dating and trying to get something working. but life isn't fair when it comes to love. just learn to look forward😊
Whoever placed the Golden Gate behind this lyrics has my appreciation. SF, my once upon a time home, has become a Stranger indeed. "Goodbye strange. It's been nice. Hope you find your paradise." Yep.
This song has a very strong vibe. I love it but it kinda hurts at the same time. Reminds me of when I was in third grade when my good friend moved away and that night this song played on the radio. Another time me and my dad went to the store and we heard this song in the car, later that day he tested positive for COVID-19. He was just fine, but it was painful for me that both my parents couldn't really take care of us due to both of them having it. I usually play this song or have it in mind when I am going crazy.
