Great video Thomas! Having got 4 boxes for my AF OceanGuard 980 I was shocked to see how much I got and only needed to use just over 3 boxes to create such a dynamic aquascape. For those looking to use it, I also used the AF Stone FIx and before it set used some crushed rubble/chips to cover the joints making it look like one single rock formation. Best of all, it's light enough I was able to make my scape outside of the tank and lift it into the tank in sections no problem. After just a few months it's now covered in coralline algae thanks to the surface of the "media" being so biologically receptive. A real winner in my book!

The AF rock resembles the CaribSea quite abit which is what I am using in my mixed reef.

I have used this rock for my tank and if it is still the same as it was back 3 years ago I would go for other rock..
One side of every piece of rock Is flat anback than there was only one option.
Mined dry rock has much more interesting shapes and often has holes big enough for small fish making it look more natural for atleast the first 1 - 2 years when the tank isn't packed with corals.

The box that i bought had to much plates inside. More caves and bridges would have made this rock perfect

I use AF Reef Salt and AF rock, the rock does stabilize KH, it's 8,9 for months now. No deseases, no algae, the red color made way for the usual color you expect. after 10 months they are covered in coraline. I used Red Sea's 4 little bottles on a doser, I used Red sea KH, calcium (with Life Rock)
Now with AF rock Im only dosing Microben Lift All in one (it also contains calcium) , so 5 dosing pumps are reduced to 1 . And I dose the AF variant of NO-Pox in combination wit AF Bio pro S, everything is stable as can be.
I only use a internal skimmer (tunze 9004 DC), and the AF rock for filtering. I do not use anything else., for enough waterflow i use the Maxspect Gyre xf230
Its a mixed reef, Soft, LPS and two (cheap) SPS corals for testing.
6 fishes and two shrimp, 3 snails.
My aquarium is the Juwel 180.
    Temp 24,5 Celcius
    Salt 35 PPT
    KH 8,9 (Hanna)
    PH 8,1
    Calcium 450
    Potassium 375
    Iodine 0,04
    PO4 0,02 (Hanna)
    No3 is a bit high, 15
    magnesium 1280
I know what I have to dose when I used life rock , using the same aquarium.
By using AF rock you will greatly reduce the monthly costs, its extremely stable. And half of my Red sea Reef doser is out of a job (for now).
With Life rock I encountered all Pests there are, all sorts of algae etc.. , lots of bottles on the doser, and I know the advantages of Life rock, but now-a-days I guess you can mimic everything :-)

would this be a better option then buying the Carib sea LifeRock or are both good options and easy to build a scape with?

Stay away from the purple carab sea live rock. I'm currently removing all of mine after over a year of battling dinos because of leaching from those rocks. Looking at these as a replacement.

Ultimately, either rock will work from a biological filtration stand point. In our opinion, you get a little more for your money with the AquaForest rock since it's lighter.
