Friday Night Funkin' (stylized as FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' and often abbreviated to FNF) is an open-source donationware rhythm game first released in 2020 for a game jam. The game was developed by a team of four Newgrounds users, Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.
The game mainly revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of characters in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay revolves around hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song.
The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam in October 2020. A full version backed on Kickstarter titled Friday Night Funkin': The Full Ass Game is under development.

it's actually just insane how much you improved since you started, and me being in calls with him seeing most of this come together, watching it in full like this actually almost made me cry, it's so high effort and needs more recognition, but gooble, buddy, thank you for what you did, it's so well done, and well deserving of a high effort
This looks great, also is sad that it was cancelled but I know is hard as hell to chart a 31 minutes song (also idk why but golden voice part sounded a little different in the voicr and I felt like something was missing on mysterious bus inst)
Its sad we prob will never get to play this. Either way fantastic work to all of the team. This chart even in its unfinished state looks amazing. I absolutely love the osp onur, the og p3d onur and uhhh hamo part. Either way amazing work. Also i never thought about the old arrow keys looking like that thing. Either way. Bravo

I think it should be uncanceled because it's definitely a impressive mod basically and "notfurnaces's requests" are considered completely outdated plus people should be asking for the chart since people can make remixes, different sides, different mixes, and other stuff including different characters and different functions etc. basically. (also it's for preservation purposes as well basically.)
