Great Episode Da joe ! Walthers really put up some good items. The 5250s are odd 'to do' as there is both the old Athearn one they still run, and the updated Atlas one. They do have a good price point tho, and should sell. I have my eye on the Rock Island one with the round roof hatches. The undercar auger is a REALLY needed item. everyone should buy many and stick em on their team tracks! The corn syrup facility is a complete surprise, and a really needed industry. Very common because corn syrup goes into soft drinks, food, juices and Animal feeds. It's also a great industry for a small layout. Short 40ft tank cars and several companies (including WKW) offer various versions. A similar location in the port of Stockton (CA) was a favorite spot to watch SP etc bang cars. Even those new shorty tank cars can go to one, as they were used for Molasses. The new run of Cruds from Athearn is nice. I'm eyeing the SP connected fantasy ones, just cause' I like the paint, but a lotta bucks. The NOPB needs to be run in pairs, hope they sell well. It's a neat RR. Happy Christmas. Cheers A word about Home Shops. Great stuff and the packaging they ship in makes these great gifts too! I highly recommend them.
Thank you! Agreed, pretty solid offering from Walthers in this announcement. That Rock Island version is a candidate for me as well! I need to check out more videos on the Home Shops packaging, if that's the case that is a great gift idea. Most videos I see are from some of the freelance railroad owners who are already running them on their layouts
They do look neat, they've done previous releases of other rolling stock that I wish I had bought because the unique road names looked so cool. Maybe next time!
As I'm rebuilding my HO collection, some of those orders are gonna be handy. I'm looking forward to my new workplace 'cuz it means I can actually get my first Rapido & ScaleTrains models! I have planned for at least 5 ScaleTrains engines, nothing from Rapido yet as I'm still exploring options...dunno if I'm gonna get a loco, or some rolling stock first. No era works wonders 'till the railroad bias kicks in....
I had held off on starting seriously collecting until I had a bit more saved up, so ScaleTrains and Rapido have both been my go-tos, so I'm glad I waited as their recent release were so worth it!
I honestly was hoping for a BN or ATSF Russell snow plow but the ATSF 86' boxcars make up for that lol. Walthers has alot of stuff coming out I'd like to get just have to figure out exactly how ill afford it all!
Agreed, I think they could've added a couple more to really fill out the plow road names, but maybe they're saving that for a future run. Every manufacturer has so much coming soon or being announced that I really have to choose what's most important to spend the limited money I've got!
I haven't seen anything come through about their F9s (or any news from Bowser since I started these videos now that I think about it). The delivery still says 10/1/24, and the product page says that preorders are still being accepted but no information on where they are in the manufacturing or delivery process
Great video. Can't wait to see what's coming up next this year!
Thanks! Very exited for some new arrivals coming up pretty soon too!
