I just tried a similar thing and found with the latest balance changes in the main branch that all my units are incredibly weak. Hero + all units have -60% damage penalty. I can barely defeat 3 person armies with 6 units and a hero.
Probably a Wild Walkres hero. But I don't really believe in compromise between a general and a scout. Necrophage heroes are imo better at kiling/leading armies then WW ones so I tend to value them more.
speed is something the Russians learned from the mongols and the polish from the Reich getting ur armies in favorable position should be be a priority , but many turn strategy gamers don't value it much .. i think u will lean to appreciate it a lot more when a strong multiplayer community appears... u will love the WW heroes and the speed pillars and the ridiculous nomad race
